In Chapter 9 of Jane Austen's Persuasion, Frederick Wentworth goes to Uppercross Cottage looking for Louisa and Henrietta. Unexpectedly, he finds himself alone with Anne Elliot and eventually rescues her from the naughty antics of her nephew, little Walter. In this version, the apothecary, Mr Robinson, has come to check on the injured little Charles and in a twist of the story, declares a quarantine! When Anne and Frederick are forced to stay alone together in one room, with a sick child to care for, will they overcome their pride and anger? This short story combines a little bit of "Outbreak!" with a lot of "It Happened One Night." Happy ending included at no charge.

When I was growing up in North Idaho we lived on a farm. I spent a lot of time by myself, reworking the plots of all the programs I watched on TV. I didn’t know that was my imagination at play. Consequently, when I got online and began reading Jane Austen fan fiction I felt right at home. I chose writing the characters of Persuasion because I love the story of love lost-love regained. All my stories will have some elements of the second chance woven through them. I live in an old farmhouse in the Pacific Northwest with my husband, son, daughter, and granddaughter.
This is a very sweet, simple story about second chances. Everything is exactly as a hopeless romantic would want it to be. I liked the what if story but the original novel works so well because of the pacing.
