In an age when modern reproductive technology is moving at a rapid and alarming rate, Conscious Conception is an alternative exploration into understanding personal fertility, as well as a comprehensive guide to discovering newfound meaning in our sexuality. Combining knowledge of myth and culture, authors Jeannine Parvati Baker and Frederick Baker offer a step-by-step manual of fertility awareness, depth psychology, and psychic birth control and interweave the five elements—Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Ether—as tools for discovery in the face of reproductive challenges. Including numerous contributions from experts in the field, the book investigates a broad range of topics, from the causes of infertility to the spiritualization of sexuality. Conscious Conception urges us to see all of the possibilities in life’s plan of continuation and to seek a clearer communion with our own reproductive experience. Over 20,000 copies sold.
This book really takes you on a journey through the body, world history and mythology. It is entirely unique. I just love the ideas brought to light in this book. A child should be wanted planned for and helped to be brought through to the physical plane. Perhaps if we were all more responsible about how we conceived children the world would be a more peaceful place.
This is one of those books that is obviously a labour of love and a ‘download’ - it’s a bit awkward in its structure but who cares when the content is this interesting. Some of the content feels a bit dated but the essence of the work is deeply profound.
I love it, and treasure my copy. Jeannine is a luminary and was tapped in to some big magic.
Highly recommend if you’re interested in viewing life through an alternative lens.
A tough one to read at times, you kind of have to get on her level to really understand. A great book that has given me lots of inspiration and things to think about.
