Prepare yourself for a spine-chilling and heart-wrenching journey through the pages of R.L. McKenzie's gripping novel, The Tears of Wednesday. The intriguing cover of the book drew me in and the book did not disappoint.

The story revolves around Ruby Anderson, a thirty-nine-year-old woman plagued by unsettling dreams and blurred visions that always occur on Wednesdays. Fearful that these nightmares are foreshadowing her impending demise, Ruby embarks on a quest to unravel their meaning.

The author skillfully weaves a tale of love, shock, and horror as Ruby grapples with her own mortality and questions the choices she has made in her life. The characters in this book are well developed. Ruby and her four daughters are portrayed with such intricacy and emotional complexity that I couldn't help but feel a profound connection to each one of them.

The Tears of Wednesday is a masterclass in storytelling, with clever twists and crafty turns that kept me on the edge of my seat. The author effortlessly builds suspense, making it nearly impossible to put the book down. Each revelation and revelation-within-revelation adds another layer of intrigue, leaving the reader desperate to uncover the truth alongside Ruby. If you're in search of a book that will keep you guessing until the very end, while also tugging at your heartstrings, then this is the one for you.

When a bad dream comes true, how seriously would you take the next one? R.L. McKenzie's "The Tears of Wednesday" had me pondering this question from the very first page. This gripping novel follows Ruby Anderson, a thirty-nine-year-old woman haunted by unsettling, recurring dreams and blurred visions, all occurring on Wednesdays.

As Ruby delves deeper into the meaning of her dreams, she confronts not only her mortality but also the intricate dynamics of love and family. The journey she embarks on is both spine-chilling and heart-wrenching, making for an unputdownable read.

I was hooked from the start, completely absorbed by the author's ability to weave clever twists and turns into the narrative. The way she flips between characters while maintaining the core storyline is nothing short of brilliant. Ruby's story is interwoven with the lives of her mother and siblings, each exploring the compelling emotions of life and love.

The ending, which ties the entire story together, left me absolutely blown away. I read this book in just a few days because I couldn't wait to see what happened next. This is a fantastic debut and I can't wait for a sequel to continue Ruby's journey. I highly recommend "The Tears of Wednesday" to anyone looking for an engaging and thrilling read.

The Tears of Wednesday is a spine chilling novel by R.L McKenzie.
The novel follows 39 year old Ruby, who is convinced that she is facing death. She starts having reoccurring dreams and visions which are disturbing her sleep. But these dreams always happen on a Wednesday.
She starts trying to figure out why this is happening to her and wants to figure it out before she turns 40. But soon realises that those who you can love the most, can also hurt you the most.
I absolutely loved this novel. I was hooked from the very first page and kept reading until the end as I wanted to know what happened. There was so many twists and turns that I was interested in the book until the end. I loved the author's story telling, she is a brilliant writer and has a way to draw you in from the very first page. I truly recommend the book and I can't wait to read more by the author.
❤️ Thank you to Olympia publishing and the author, R.L McKenzie for my copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

You know once every 20 or so books, you find one that you consume in a day and everything else has to be put on hold… that’s what reading The Tears of Wednesday was like. For a few days after I read this, I still felt in the world of these characters, which was so fully realised in my mind. The ideas stayed with me for many weeks after reading.

This novel doesn’t easily fit a category, as it has elements of horror, tragedy, and mystery. I love this, because it means that the twists and turns don’t follow predictable patterns, and the novel remains a suspenseful until its final page.

TToW is a suspense-filled exploration of trauma, superstition, memory, and family. I would recommend this to anyone.

I loved the way the author flipped between characters while still keeping with the story line. There was twists and turns , that I didn’t see coming an the ending just blew me away, the way the the title brought it all together.
I read this book in just a few days, as I honestly couldn’t wait to get back to it.

I would recommend this book to anyone who wants an entertaining read.

Debut Author impressive
There seems to be a fine lone between a thriller and a mystery. But this is one of the best twisty mystery books I've certainly read.
I read it so quickly because it was a page turner. It was very educational in a subtle way actually and I felt like I could watch this on screen. The author is very talented, you can tell she is a new author and I think we can watch this space because this story line was powerful very clever and gripping. I laughed at rhe way I cursed at some of these cone to life characters. I like when authors deliver a good book. And this was more than good. Will there be more books from R.l.mckenzie. New fan here.

I am dyslexic and do tend to struggle with enjoying a book and building up to something. I can honestly say I thoroughly enjoyed the thrill, the beauty behind the storylines, this author is so talented, so creative, I was guessing but guessed wrong a few times with the plots. I was sad to finish such a great read. A sequel is wanted. Debut author at it’s best as it is it I was watching the family - visualising the way the author connects to each character. Movie feeling. Another one please R.l.McKenzie

Great read!👍🏼
This book was recommended by a friend and I was a bit apprehensive at first. As a man, I feel some books are more catered to a female audience however, this book did not disappoint. The plot was fantastic and I enjoyed learning about all the characters life’s and different stories. This is one of the first books to get me hooked. Well done to the author. Hope to like more of the stuff she writes!

Incredible first book for this author - a work of art. I found it it so gripping. I couldn't put it down and read it in a few days, . I was so bought in to all of the characters. The author portrayed them in such great detail . The ending was a complete surprise with all the pieces coming together so perfectly. I would love to read a sequel as i'm so invested in the characters. Super talented author. Can't wait to see what she writes next.

Just came across this book by chance. Was looking for a good read, and the front cover appealed to me because it's not the usual type you have in crime sections. I thought the crime written in it was clever and enjoyable. The mystery was always guessing and I guessed wrong. No spoilers here.
Really upset I finished it so quickly.
I was gripped, it was like watching a movie.
Really into this new Author. Is there any more books coming from R.L.McKenzie? Hope so. Think I got a new favourite

This book has everything! Mystery, intrigue, likeable female characters, sisterhood and more! The voice of the author is so deep and creative. The book reads like a YA but has adult characters we as readers can actually relate to.

If you haven't already go and read it!!

I found this book hooked me from the start. I was intrigued to find out more. To learn more about the characters. It’s written in such a way where you get to know each individual character. The author is very talented at jumping from character to character and diving in and out of individual storylines whilst bringing it all back together and maintaining the main storyline all the way through. I did notice some inevitable typos/misprints and whilst unfortunate they definitely did not take away from the story.
I enjoyed the twists and turns along the way. The author very cleverly and subtly would lead you to think that the storyline is going down one road and then a sudden swerve in a different direction, therefore making it non predictable and obvious, again intriguing my interest. There is a lot more I’d like to go into specifically regarding the storylines twists and turns but I won’t ruin it for those who haven’t read yet.
I read the book within 4 days, for me personally that’s how I know it’s a good book when I can’t wait to get back to it. I am hoping for a sequel as I think there is definitely room for it! I felt I began to know the characters and became invested, so a sequel only seems right to see what comes next in their lives.
Overall I would recommend this book to people who like an entertaining read.

Very jumbled but talented

Grammar, awful, sentences, sometimes convoluted, too much foreshadowing (don’t keep telling me that such and such is about to happen). Sentimental yet graphic. I think this will be a great writer, but she isn’t yet. but if you want to be surprised by what you read and moved by what you read and are willing to put up with trying to navigate the words, I recommend it.
