Battered, abused, and broken, Sophia Alden is resigned to living the rest of her life as a slave to Alexander, a powerful Alpha who considers her his property and is dangerously obsessed with her. But when the Alpha of the most powerful pack comes to claim his true mate, hearts are broken, dangerous enemies are made, and Sophia finds herself thrust into a world of lies, lust, secrets, and desires that threatens to douse her in its burning flame, consuming her entire being.
Couldn’t put it down! The plot twists kept coming, and the chapters ending leaving you dangling - wanting more.
That said, there were far to many errors, grammatical and otherwise, that messed with the flow of the story. What was described as being a few days, possibly a week, ends up being stretched into months suddenly just to move the story up to Sophia’s birthday and eminent doom of having to fulfill her end of the treaty. The whole thing ends up feeling badly edited, and need of a good fixing. Did the first attempt get published immediately?
Absolutely couldn’t put it down, definitely a page turner ! Literally could not have predicted all the twists & turns from this story so many unexpected events!
There were some frustrating mistakes in this book. A few times the author got her own characters' names confused and the stepmother was called the heroines sister at the end of the book. Truly stupid grammatical, spelling, and punctuation mistakes that could have easily been fixed with better editing. For someone who was engrossed in the story, these mistakes were an utter nightmare. I kept having to backtrack and re-read some parts because they mad no sense whatsoever, "her face connecting with the stair nosing." Ugh! Lots of these weird verbiage errors. That being said, the many (and I do mean MANY) twists and turns this story took saved it from a 3-star rating. I've always been a fan of twists and this book takes it to a whole new level! The last few chapters of the book were an intense rollercoaster ride, upside down, corkscrewed, and backwards! I'd just get used to one betrayal when a new and improved one would pop up! I think the story needed a more finished ending, I felt like I missed a chapter between when Callan finally got to Sophia and after the mating ceremony. And seriously, who the hell was Grace's mother? I read, reread, and then read that part again, but I still don't know!! Anyway, it was a good read, darker than most, and needs a crap ton of editing, but overall, not bad.
I don’t usually read werewolf books, but this had a good plot. Lots of twists and turns. I read it in Readict … the editing could be improved. I’d read book 2, but not on that platform - it was too irritating to have to wait for the ads to play through.
I read this in two days. I couldn't put it down. The story was amazing. Yes, there are grammatical errors, but honestly, with how captivating the story was, I overlooked them easily. It is a very intense story but it has a great ending in my opinion
I wanted to really like this book, and it does have an overall good idea in the world building and interactions between the different packs. While Sophia's situation does improve dramatically, can't help but also feel bad for Callan. While they get the ending they want more or less, it turns out a lot of the people closest to the two of them really can't and shouldn't be trusted. It's also amazing how for being an Alpha's daughter and seeing as much as she has, Sophia has remained so naive and gullible overall when it comes to interacting with others. She's lucky her real mate is actually decent and not someone like Alexander, though that's sort of the entire premise of the book.
The writing is not edited well however, with entire segments duplicated, names mixed up, words used that make no sense in the context of the sentence they are in, and formatted in very short chapters almost more like a piece of online fanfiction rather than a published work. The app that it is advertised to read on also lags horribly, to the point that it would ask me if I wanted to force close or wait for it to process new chapters. It looks like this is part of a series that can be purchased on Amazon rather than reading on the app. I won't be buying it due to the overall quality of the writing, but would perhaps say it's an option for those who do not wish to worry about the app use. Will be removing the app and not reading more stories on it as it becomes an exercise in frustration just to try and finish the book.

Okay, so I read this on the Readict app and I LOVED the storyline. That being said there were so many typos and grammar errors and the wrong names being use in certain scenes. I could of even looked past all of that and gave it a higher rating if the end wasn't such a let down. I still didn't get to see the mating ceremony which I was upset about. There are multiple characters that needed loose ends tied up and I'm still confused as to whether or not her uncle is alive or not. For all of that I am gonna give this 3 stars. The story is there, the execution was not.
The beginning is well thought out and we’ll executed for the most part. The story is compelling, if a bit one dimensional. The problem comes in the final chapters of the book. The book feels rushed, poorly edited, and leaves you feeling let down. It’s like the author just wanted the story to be over, so they ended it without a real sense of closure. It’d be better if they redid it with the same card they put into the rest of the book.
There are some editing issues in this book, for a few chapters, Radley is Ryder, which created some confusion and in the beginning Sophia is barely literate but once she is away from her previous pack she all of a sudden becomes an highly proficient reader. There is lots of intrigue and crazy twists in this tale that will keep a reader guessing and the book is overall pretty good.
The core concepts and plot of the story itself were solid and enthralling. But there were so many grammatical and referential errors that it took my attention away from the story itself. Who was doing what? And there were some time lapses that were a bit confusing.
I’m giving this rating because it’s only available on the app Readict which charges $40 for the book. Was conned into buying coins which didn’t even pay for the entire book. Requested a refund.
