Hmm. I just decided to read up a little on Buddhism and this was touted as a simple, clear look at the life and teachings of The Buddha. But it is so simplistic that it made me doubt the wisdom of the man - it was unbelievable to me that every other thing, he would made some bland assertion and suddenly someone was converted. I think this might be OK for 8 - 10 year olds, but if I want a better, albeit basic, understanding of his teachings, I will read a more sophisticated book.
