The Schliemann Legacy is a fast-moving thriller that grips you and never lets you go. As the story of the international theft unfolds, the reader is plunged into a dangerous, but an enticing game, hauled around the globe, allowed to visit different countries and continents with the best of the international agents, spies, assassins and terrorists, just to name a few. From Munich to Bogota, from Israel to Jamaica, you follow the fascinating people, who are above the usual rules of the everyday life, their game different, dangerous, fascinating.

The descriptions of this novel are so vivid you can almost feel the smell of the different countries you are pulled onto along with the main characters, feel the weather, sense the dangers of the places well beyond the reach of an average tourist. While the action always there, never slacks, never let you relax as the story progresses and the tension mounts and you worry about your favorite characters, who are admirably deep and complex, everyone of them, the ‘good’ and the ‘bad’ ones.

The lover of historical fiction in me was also satisfied, as this book has its share of an interesting peeks into all kinds of history, from the ancient to the modern one.

I enjoyed this read very much and I sincerely hope the author will release another thriller of the same kind.

The Schliemann Legacy is a fast paced and ingenuously plotted thriller. It’s well written and the character development is superior. My only problem with the book is that I’m still not sure about something that happened in the chapter immediately preceding the epilogue.

Again going to admit that I am prejudice with this being my Dad's book. However it is great and totally worth the read. Anyone who loves spy thrillers will love this!

the plot of this book is intriguing, interesting and engaging, a treasure-hunt story, with vendettas and personal motives thrown all-around. The story is a fast-read, because the events are just twisted and turned upside-down that the readers wonders what will happen next. Graystone manages to combine in this work suspense, mystery, and rage. The story could be like THe national treasure, and could really be a good book if given a chance. though I agree, some parts should be re-written. But the plot is excellent and lures many readers.

A HUNT FOR TREASURE AND REVENGE 1873 – Heinrich Schliemann discovers ancient treasure in Turkey which proves the existence of Troy. 1943 – the treasure disappears from Nazi Germany. 1981 – Henri Mardinaud, international information broker, discovers the treasure in the possession of Friedrich Heiden, ex-commander of Majdanek, a Nazi extermination camp. I really enjoyed this book. The story kept me intrigued from the beginning as I moved quickly through the enfolding mysteries. Which of these fascinating characters would find the treasure and kill the evil Nazi war criminal? Would it be the trained assassin/terrorist, the over-the-hill Mossad agent, or the Egyptian beauty with a reputation to restore? Meanwhile, an international information broker plays games with them all, pitting them against one another in the race to capture the treasure.

It follows true thriller tradition as surprises abound, keeping readers on the edge of our seats while we dash around the globe in search of the villains.

If I had one complaint about this book, it would be the cover, which does not capture the essence of the story. Had I not been intrigued by the synopsis and then received this book in a Goodreads Giveaway, I never would have purchased the book after seeing the cover. It does not do the story justice. I’m sure it is a turnoff for some potential purchasers. If I hadn’t received this book and read it despite its cover, I would have missed out on a terrific, heart-stopping reading experience. Don’t let the cover deceive you!

Note: 1/12/13 - I just saw on Amazon that the e-book version has a new cover Dark red background with mask larger in the middle. Great improvement! Now, I'm happy :)

Schliemann dug up some artifacts in 19th Century Turkey proving that the City of Troy had actually existed. This is the inciting incident of the inciting incident bumping against a Nazi plot evolving into a conspiracy with a drug cartel, three different national intelligence agencies terrorists and maybe a kibbutz. Oh yes, someone who might have been associated with a Pope and a really disgusting information broker. Quite an involved plot with two leads vying for main protagonist, four heinous villains and a misogynistic dill-hole supervisor for one of the intelligence services.

This book was really fun, it had a lot of the elements of an action spy novel without really handing out the plot in the first half. The descriptive writing made me feel like I had lived for a week in most of the places the story passes through and was exceptionally well done during the hotter portions of the book.

Editing had a few issues that I think might have been rewrite flubs. They were few and didn't detract from the story. I recommend this book to anyone who likes Tom Clancy, Robert Ludlum or Eric Van Lustbader works.

This is an exciting story that keeps your attention from front to back. The author does a good job of setting up the main characters so you can follow them through this intricate web of connections and history.
I am not an expert on the history of Nazi Germany, or the workings of Israeli intelligence or the Columbian drug cartels, which all play an important role in the story. I trust that the author has sufficient knowledge or had done adequate research to ensure accurate descriptions. For me it all felt real. I would have thought the whole premise was too “James Bond” far-fetched to be believable, but I lived near Dubai when Mossad sent a dozen operatives into the country to carry out a hit on a Palestinian leader and escape the country before the body was even discovered, causing quite an international stir. As a result, this story has more of a ring of believability to it for me.
I loved it and found it pure entertainment. I’m sure literary snobs would be able to find flaws, but I was so intrigued with the design of the story line, I didn’t have time to consider the literary quality of the writing. I’m not a writing expert, but I thought it was well written.
Highly recommended.

Indiana Jones meets the Avengers!

When Heinrich Schliemann discovered the ancient city of Troy, he pilfered artifacts out of Turkey. During World War II those priceless artifacts disappeared during the Nazi occupation. Learning the location of the treasure, an "information broker" devises the ultimate game to amuse himself. He pits old enemies against each other, watching the deadly race to find the treasure. David Morritt, a retired Mossad agent, Katrina Kontoravdis, a disgraced Greek intelligence operative, and Duman, a vicious Turkish terrorist all race from Europe to find the deadly Nazi (Heiden) in Colombia. It's a deadly game and the price might be death.

Graystone keeps his readers on edge throughout this fast-paced adventure. Who doesn't enjoy treasure hunts, especially when International terrorists and old Nazis get into the act? I especially enjoyed the romance between David and Katrina (worthy of Mrs. Peale and Mr. Steed from the Avengers). This book is good old-fashioned adventure sprinkled with romance. Readers will enjoy the twists and turns to a satisfactory conclusion.

I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed this excellently written story created by D.A. Graystone. This novel reminded me of those by authors Robert Ludlum and Ken Follett. There are three main characters: 1) Former KGB Agent "Duman" -- a Turkish name he chose meaning mist or smoke; 2) David Morritt, a special agent for the Israel government, assigned to hunt down former Nazi Friedrich Heiden, his arch enemy who had tortured and killed his parents during World War II. He sets out on the mission alone; 3) Katrina Kontoravdis, an undercover Greek agent pulled back into the field to try to recover the Greek artifacts. She, too, is sent into the hunt alone. The missions of all three are set and monitored by an information broker, Henri Mardinaud who plays it as an entertainment game. The action is fast and furious and races you through a totally absorbing read, full of suspense. I applaud the author for his excellent writing and story line.

A Jew, Turk, and Greek head to Columbia on a Frenchman’s game to find a Nazi. And while that may sound like a bad way to start a joke, that is exactly how the main plot of this story unfolds. A treasure from ancient Greece was uncovered and 40 years later, after WWII, it is re-found in the hands of an ex-Nazi.

The character dynamics which unfold during this tale are interesting in a historical-cultural sense and, also, in the biological human. While not specifically a romance novel there is a quite the underlying of sex happening within the short 250 storyline. Some very perverse while others quite sensual.

A book not for the young, but an interesting read for those who are intrigued with a good treasure hunt. While there are some dropped plot hooks, the entirety of the book is enjoyable to read.

I’m a HUGE fan of history from the earliest days of mankind to modern history. One of my favorite periods is the time centered around ancient Greece and the Trojan War to the last stand of King Leonidas and his three hundred Spartans at the Battle of Thermopylae. The Trojan War for me, has always been on of the most fascinating stories in history so when I saw the description for this book I couldn’t wait to read it.

The thing I liked about The Schliemann Legacy was the idea behind it and the espionage and action I expected from the description and it didn’t disappoint. While similar to the typical military style action books of the 80′s, the author did a solid job when it came to laying out the storyline of the book and while there weren’t any surprises, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun read.

In 1873 treasures were found that proved the existence of Troy, only to be hidden for years. In 1943 the treasures disappeared from Nazi Germany. Years later, in 1981, an oversized man with nothing better to do than plot people against each other, creates another game to see who can find the treasure and survive against each other.

Great cast of characters, each with their own backgrounds of why they were chosen against each other. Keeps you going with who you think will succeed with so many twists and turns along the way.

This was a very creatively written book. It gives background on all the characters and how they tie into the storyline. It is imaginative, it also held my attention throughout and did not want to put it down. The author tells a story and kept you guessing about what would happen at the end. When an author can hold the readers attention like this book kept mine, then he is truly a master of his craft.
I am truly looking forward to reading more by D.A. Graystone ( )

Three vie to find and recover the lost City of Troy treasure found by Schliemann in 1873 from a vicious Nazi. Each has major character flaws that define their actions and desires. Despite this, the characters are shallow and superficial. Some brutal scenes may shock and offend some readers.
