It’s Danny’s summer before he begins high school and his grandpa, Allen Dailey, (Pappy) insists on taking Danny coast to coast across America for the summer. Pappy is going so far as to call it Danny’s rite of passage .
Reluctantly, Danny goes and the trip starts out with Pappy telling story after story. Slowly though, Danny discovers there may be more truth in Pappy’s stories than fiction.
As the lines begin to blur between reality and fantasy Danny is introduced to a world he did not know existed. Real adventure ensues, giving new meaning to Danny's rite of passage. The question is, will the two of them survive it?
