Le Royaume

Le Royaume de Ruppert & Mulot n’est pas moins atypique que les précédents puisqu’il s’agit d’un journal de 41 x 58 cm plié en quatre, de 28 pages, faisant écho à leur premier projet auto-édité, Del Aventure. Le Royaume, on devine lequel : celui des ombres, des morts, tout cela flottant dans l’espace, chacun ayant emmené ce à quoi il a pensé, voiture ou chaise. Mais ce n’est pas le seul registre narratif du Royaume, qui contient des dizaines d’histoires parallèles, utilisant à merveille un format aussi gigantesque.

An incredibly well thought out piece of paper with «nonsense» dialogue and amazingly constructed panels. These make the reader "play" and "explore" this journal as an object as well as a puzzle of narratives. At first sight, they don't seem to make any sense but actually are complete within themselves.
It's an amazing work of how immobile drawing can be translated into time, and so, into so much action and such a well controlled pacing.

ps:It is honestly the kind of work of art (and comics) you can show your college teacher and let him fucking accept comics as contemporary art :')
