I wish this book was still in print. Best author name paired with the perfect title. Also, extremely well written and useful. I read much of this book (illegally) as course reading in my highschool AP Euro History class.

Until you've read The Pilgrimage of Western Man by Stringfellow Barr illegally don't even try talking to me. nope, nope. don't.

Best 'History' book that I have ever read. Rates high among all books I've read. Piercingly clear laying out of complicated, unconsidered, and important ideas. Funny too....
