The remarkable story of JAARS, the flying service organization for Wycliffe Bible Translators. They go all over the world flying Bible Translators into minuscule jungle landing strips. They have done this for over 50 years bringing the people to bring the word of God to all language groups. This book would interest pilots and Christians.

Interesting anecdotes that would be hard to find elsewhere. Missionary pilots are definitely a different breed but a devoted and passionate one.

Since this is written by Bob Griffen, my mother's cousin, I have a hard time being objective. I actually read the updated 50th Anniversary Edition of "Cleared for Takeoff" It's a great devotional book, with most of the 50 stories being a page or two in length. I was given a couple of extra books by Bob and plan to give them to a couple of Christian pilot friends. Great lessons learned from being a missionary pilot that I think would be so good for a person interested in flying.

I loved the book. received it as a book to give to those interested in supporting jaars as I have become an advocate for this organization... loved the sense of humor as well as the deep faith and commitment to our Lord. I am very impressed by their servanthood to men in getting their w.o.g. translated into their heart language.
