A 30-Day Bible Journal to Help You Engage with Scripture and Pray with Purpose, Featuring Artwork from Ruth Chou Simons ESV Prayer Journals guide your study of a foundational Scripture topic over 30 days and create space for writing and prayer―turning your quiet time into a meditation on God’s Word. Each week opens with an overview related to that week’s passage, followed by 5 days of teaching and prayer prompts. Each journal also includes space for writing, clear definitions of biblical terms, and artwork by Ruth Chou Simons. This ESV Prayer Journal helps readers rightly understand their call to evangelism and prepares them to share their faith with assurance, boldness, and joy.
Overall, I enjoyed the structure of this devotional and its focus on prayer. I found the suggested prayer points, based on scripture, very helpful and the repeated practice built into the daily readings impactful. Due to a theological disagreement (predestination) which pervades week 3, though, I cannot completely recommend it, and I'm not sure about reading the others in this series.
Erika Allen never disappoints in her prayer journals. This one was convicting and it was good to spend time meditating on Scripture that encourages evangelism and pray for loved ones who do not know the Lord.
