The Threshold is a horror novel which is set in the early 90s. Tormented, angry spirits are gathered at the threshold waiting to cross into the world of the physical, but they need the assistance of the living to do so. Dave Chatburn, now an adult, is tormented by the death of his brother 20 years earlier. Suddenly he begins to have dreams in which that death, which he feels he could have stopped, are vividly replayed. This is the work of the spirits softening his mind for their use. Dave teams up with a local medium and both are manipulated into conducting the ceremonies which they believe will seal the rift and keep the spirits at bay. Sandra McElroy is a true medium who also experiences dreams, only she sees the true meaning and makes a trek from St. Louis to find the source and stop the impending disaster.
Mark A. Daniel is a writer of the supernatural thriller genre including the recent release "Crossroads".
Taking the advice of his third-grade teacher to “pursue writing of some kind as a career,” he promptly wrote his first book From Six Feet to Two Inches. It was about 10 pages long. He never looked back.
He has since completed eight novels and two short story collections. Black Mass, Resurrection, The Gifted, Burial Grounds and The Threshold are available today, as are the short stories in Razor’s Edge 1 and Razor’s Edge 2.
Mark lives and writes on a small ranch in rural West Texas, accompanied by his wife of 30 years, a few dogs, several cats, and a varying number of chickens.
Mark A. Daniel has done it again! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel, a mix between horror, thriller and suspense. I enjoyed this as much as a Harlen Coban and Stephen King book. The characters were awesome and the writing style kept me reading until I finished this book late last night. I loved the plot, the setting, and how the story unfolded, everything is so well described I felt I was watching it as I read. I couldn't put the book down as I read these weird and eerie events that were happening in this small town. I loved how the story was told through different characters and how their lives came together as the story went on. This really is a book that will keep you reading into the night. Well done Mark Daniel, I'm waiting on the next novel 😊
“The Threshold” by Mark A. Daniel is a gripping read that I could not put down. Mark does an incredible job with this and all of his supernatural thrillers, keeping the suspense high from beginning to end. What I really loved was how he weaves in characters and events from his other books, tying everything together in a way with them still being standalone stories. The pacing is perfect—never too fast, never too slow—and the character development is top-notch. I found myself really connecting with the characters and invested in their journey. If you're into supernatural thrillers with rich characters and a tightly woven plot, The Threshold is definitely a must-read. (Also check out the Black Mass saga and The Gifted)

Who will prevail? I love the tension and suspense in the book. The characters are superbly described and the plot draws you in for a page-turning adventure. The Threshold is well written in the unique style of Mark A. Daniel. I recommend the book to all lovers of horror and suspense.
An absolutely brilliant written masterpiece. The authors writing is superb that I felt I was in the book. The book is unputdownable. The characters are fleshed out meticulously. How the author manages to hold all details together and weaves the story together to form a heart pulsing read. I can't get enough of his books.
