JAMES and SUSAN
Connection to Until Series: James and Susan and the original Mayson. The Parents.

Woah! The first BOOM! And it was perfect! C.P. Smith has done an amazing job writing the story of The Mayson brother’s parents, James and Susan.

I can’t believe how much I enjoyed this book, and even though I know this book came after the Until series by Aurora Rose Reynolds, I still want to say…
Now I know where the Mayson brothers get it from!

The beginning of the story, the beauty of the reminiscing about the past and the references to until November. Gosh! It blended the book so well! Even the epilogue. Just Perfect!

James feels the BOOM, the second he sees Susan and helps her with her broken down car, and after a very I would say quirky and sweet meet-cute, James knows for sure, it’s her, or no one else.
But despite the instinct attraction, lust, and connection that Susan feels, she has been warned of his serial dating charming ways, and she pushes him away

His eyes locked with mine and I swear something sparked in their depths. My body reacted instantly as if I’d been touched, then heat flooded my veins.

But in true sexy Happily ever Alpha World, James is “Never Letting go.” Everything he says to her is filled with meaning, with depth and sexy undertones. You feel the emotion from the pages, the words, and the romance! So hot, so sweet, so… everything!

You look like a Susan,” he mumbled, drawing me an inch closer.
I blinked. “What do Susans look like?”
“Like warm fires, Christmas morning, and the first snowfall of the season. Susans look like home, hearth, and family.”

He pushes and cajoles and chases, always making sure he is on her mind and her heart, and without even realizing it, Susan loses her heart within days of meeting him. Their banter and back and forth, tiny moments add so much to the book to make it amazing!

So right now, at this moment, I’m not takin’ for granted what I feel when I touch you . . . Take a chance and go out with me,” he whispered.

There is a lot of, and I mean a lot, of drama, ex’s drama, crazy obsessed person drama, crime drama, danger, almost being unalived a couple of times and suspense. Some very intense scenes. Susan and James may have felt the BOOM quick, but their ‘forever’ didn’t come as easily.

A little spoiler: The moment when James thinks he has lost Susan in the worst permanent way, he reaction. Oh my! And the reaction to finding out she is okay. Again. Oh My!
These are the moments in the book that really get to you and hold on for good. It was just so sweet and still managed to be so intense and hot at the same time.

“I lost you twice tonight. I thought God had given me a miracle when you weren’t the first body, only to have my legs taken out from underneath me with the second.”

I mean… do I need to go on. Just go and read!
