Bunting went to school in Ireland and grew up with storytelling. In Ireland, “There used to be Shanachies… the shanachie was a storyteller who went from house to house telling his tales of ghosts and fairies, of old Irish heroes and battles still to be won. Maybe I’m a bit of a Shanchie myself, telling stories to anyone who will listen.” This storytelling began as an inspiration for Bunting and continues with her work.

Not crucial to the story, but disturbing ....

The vicar is called to assist in answering questions concerning the art in the rental home. Why in the world would the step-mom suggest the 13-year-old girl take a man up to her room alone to see the art in her room? "His hand touched Jessica's shoulder."

Days later the step-mom wants to the call the Vicar over at 2am because of bizarre events. "The vicar didn't seem to mind. He sat on the edge of Jessica's bed and listened carefully to everything she told him."
