The book I actually read was by the same name but published by Bible League International, PlusNothing. That exact title and Publisher are not on here so I chose this "Unknown Author" as my subject.
This book was absolutely terrific. It told a story of the life and ministry of Jesus, in every detail of the Bible, throughout the Gospels and the Book of Acts. It missed nothing as far as I can tell and told it in somewhat of a modern narrative sense. It didn't take away from the truth at all and certainly didn't add much......although I loved the book very much, there was a time or two that I read something that I did not recall being in the sacred text.
Still, the narrative was quite easy to follow and also added a slightly intriguing perspective on Christ's life and ministry. This book is so easy to read that it could be distributed to anyone probably from a 6th grade reading level and above. What a brilliant way to spread the Gospel and share the story of Jesus Christ!
Probably the greatest point about this book is really not so much the book at all, but the provider; PlusNothing [publishing] offers this book and almost any quantity of them you want FOR FREE. You just have to go to www.plusnothing.com and place your order. There are no strings that I can see except perhaps being added to their mailing list. I just ordered 120 copies and will be handing them out through the course of my own ministerial work.

interesting little free pamphlet type book I found somewhere. great if you're bored and want to read truth quickly without whipping out the big book if yk what I mean.

I never thought about the idea of taking the four gospels in the New Testament and combining them into one book about Jesus. Now that I have read “The Life and Teachings of Jesus of Nazareth,” I can see what a good idea that is.
Some things in this book are what people generally know about Jesus.
In section 1.15, he was described as being 12 when his parents accidentally left him at the temple. They found him there talking with the religious teachers. It is a little different situation from the kid accidentally being left at home in the movie “Home Alone.”
In section 2.2, it is stated that he was about 30 when he began to teach.
In section 3.56, he was described as being a carpenter in his earlier years. However, I didn’t remember reading where Joseph was described as being a carpenter.
In section 5.41, Jesus seemed to ask God if it was really necessary for him to die. However, Jesus said that he would accept his fate if that was what God wanted.
In section 5.55, while on the cross, Jesus asked God why he left him alone. The more famous way that has been described is “why hast thou forsaken me?”
There were a number of things that I learned in reading this book that I didn’t realize were in the Bible.
Everyone probably remembers or has read about Jimmy Carter saying that if a man just looks at a woman with a desire for sex with her, he has committed adultery. In section 3.20, Jesus said the same thing. Then, he said that the man sinning in that way should pluck out his eye and throw it away. He also said that if your right hand makes you sin, you should cut it off and throw it away. He was not speaking metaphorically. He seemed to be speaking literally.
In section 3.43, he indicated that his followers were his family. It doesn’t explicitly say that he rejected Mary and her other sons, but that was the impression I got.
In section 4.2, Jesus gave instructions to his 12 apostles and sent them out to the people. However, he sent them to only Jewish people. He gave them the power over evil spirits and power to heal every kind of disease and sickness. He told him not to take anything with them. He told them to find someone with whom they could stay in each town. The most important thing was that each person loved Jesus more than their own children or parents. Jesus told them that he did not come to bring peace to the Earth. He came to bring trouble. He said that God‘s kingdom was now very near. I read elsewhere that Jesus felt that the end of life on earth was imminent.
In section 4.9, Jesus said that anything that enters the mouth from the outside cannot make people unacceptable to God. He seemed to be rejecting all the rules about food having to be kosher.
In various sections, after Jesus healed somebody, he seemed to tell his followers not to tell anyone what he did.
In section 4.16, Peter told Jesus that he thought that Jesus was the Messiah. However Jesus warned his followers not to tell anyone that he was the Messiah.
In section 4.39, Jesus said to a man to follow him. However, that man wanted to bury his father first. Jesus said to let the people who were dead bury their own dead. Another man wanted to say goodbye to his family before following Jesus. Jesus metaphorically said that man wasn’t prepared for God’s kingdom.
In section 4.45, Jesus said that “whoever says something against the Son of Man can be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.”
Throughout the book, Jesus sometimes refers to himself as the Son of Man and sometimes as the Son of God. I read elsewhere that the name Son of Man refers to his human nature, and that the name Son of God refers to his spiritual nature.
In section 4.47, Jesus said that he did not come to give peace to the world. He came to divide the world. He gave examples of a family of five being set up to be three against two or two against three. He said that a father and son would be divided, and a mother and daughter would be divided, and so on.
In section 4.50, Jesus escaped from people trying to kill him because of his description of his relationship with God. He repeatedly talked about his death being necessary to fulfill scripture, but he seemed to want to determine the time and circumstances.
In section 4.55, again Jesus basically told people that they should love him more than their own family. They must leave their family to follow him.
In section 5.2, Jesus was unable to get figs from a fig tree because it was not the time of year for the figs to grow. So he went to the tree and said to the tree that people would never eat fruit from it again. His followers heard him say that.
In section 5.22, it said that Satan entered Judas Iscariot and caused him to betray Jesus. This seems somewhat to exonerate Judas. He wasn’t necessarily against Jesus. It seems to be “the devil made me do it” defense.
Throughout the book, Jesus emphasized that he wanted people to love him and love God more than their family. After the resurrection, he repeatedly asked Peter if he loved him. Jesus seemed to care about that much more than the relationships among the people.
At the end of the book, there is an index which relates each of the sections of this book to references (chapter and verse) of the four gospels. Sometimes there's a reference to verses in one gospel. Sometimes there's a reference to verses in multiple gospels.
I feel that I should give this book five stars. I don’t want to be struck by lightning. Regardless of your religious beliefs, I recommend that you read this book. It is very interesting. For years, I have had the book “Good News for Modern Man, The New Testament in Today’s English Version.” I have read sections of it from time to time. At some point, I am going to read it from cover to cover, focusing on the gospels.
