I'm a big fan of Annie Cabots books. I can't wait for the next book to come out. I'm really looking forward to captiva Hearts, which is the next book in the series.
That is what I am getting out of all of these books in this series, you have to believe to overcome.... What that is-is different for everyone else one you need to fill in the blank. Annie Cabot draws you into each of the lives of her characters. She makes you care and feel involved. Everyone has something in their life that they battle it maybe a small thing to someone else but to each person they need to look inside themselves to have the courage to find peace. In Captive Island books, the family is the nucleus, the heart, the love and add to that the close friends that they each need. The author does not come out and speak of the Lord as the faith each member of the family looks to but that sense is definitely there. I have been touched by each of these books in a good way and would definitely encourage you to read this entire series. I am anxious to see what the next chapter in each of families lives bring us. Enjoy!
I enjoyed Captiva Nights, but the many storylines are not for everyone.
I have grown to like this series & appreciate the advancing of continuing storylines & the introduction of others. However, this type of writing is not for everyone. I almost wish this was called something else instead of a “Series”. I find most books in a series, actually stand well alone, or out of order. However, I have been known to feel sad, in past series, when a former leading couple is given the backseat, with little to no mention in future books. For that reason, I have grown to appreciate the Captiva Island Series, while knowing this writing style is not for everyone.
Captivating island series was a delightful read. This series was grabbed my attention with each book. It's very engaging and inspiring . The characters are strong supportive, and very family oriented issues as each character moves through life. The characters are very likable and witty. I highly recommend this series.
The main family in this series is large and a few more characters were added in to this book, with some having fairly large roles in the plot. I can keep them straight (for the most part) since this is the fifth book about the family, but sometimes I wonder how many subplots are too many? Onto the sixth!
Totally love this series. Maggie's family and friends make me feel like I've extended my family. Also very special because I use to live in a small town near Ft. Myers called Lehigh Acres so its like visiting again. Thanks Annie.
just finished book 5 and enjoyed every page. again the characters and the way the author spins thectalevogvthese families. on the next book. fills a space in need of positive reflections.
This series is so heartwarming. I enjoy reading about places I have been (Captiva) and reading about families that are so in touch with each other. Annie Cabot is a great author.
