BOB – Bob weiß nicht recht, was er will. Seine Freundin, die Tochter aus SIE, geht ganz auf in ihrem neuen Studium. Er arbeitet ein wenig im Seemannshotel, richtet ihre Einzimmerwohnung ein und verliert sich in Kopenhagener Straßennamen. Vor allem wünscht er sich wohl eine Zukunft mit ihr. Sie ist die Ich-Erzählerin des Romans, erzählt aber nur von Bob und seinem Leben – insbesondere von dem, woran sie nicht teilhat.
