A lot of studies and hard work in this one, it’s a lot of pages but absolutely essential for anyone doing upper advanced violin. I’d recommend a lot especially if like me if you’re usually fine with disjunction but not so strong on positions beyond about position four or so- there’s a lot of work in the higher positions on all strings so it’s a lot of mental gymnastics but in a great way
Aug 2013 - still working on this one. Just moved on to a etude that runs through 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th positions. Jan 2013 - Took some time off around the holidays and focused on country fiddlin'. Need to spend more time with this book and whip these chromatics into shape. Oct 2012 - Working a little bit at a time and on the last part of Exercise X. This is 3rd position and sort of easy except for all the chromatics. Next is an exercise moving through 1st, 2nd, & 3rd. May 9 2012 - Coach told me to skip straight to Exercise VIII, because I through VII were too easy(?!). So now I'm working on 2nd position scales, with some chromatics notes tossed in to keep it interesting.
May 8 2012 - Yep. It's tough. Exactly what you'd expect from a guy named Schradieck. May 2012 - just bought this one. Looks tough.
