When the bedroom grows dark at night (and when the shadows hit just "right), it's easy to be scared by creepy things that aren't really there.

Told with just the right amount of humor and understanding, this playful verse reminds youngsters that shadows are nothing to fear. And these snug bedtime scenes in warm, cozy hues will comfort the overly imaginative child who needs one more bedtime story -- and a little reassurance -- before turning off the light.

I got an autographed copy for my 3 year old grandson. He LOVED it. The night he got it my son had to read it 6 times. The next week I arrived for a visit and it was another 6 or 7 times straight. Not often a book really communicates to a 3 year old but this one really did.

I love the illustrations. Beautifully done.

A little boy is scared to sleep because of the creepy things in his room: a monster on the wall, the thing on the ceiling, the sound under his bed.... Calling for his mother, she turns on the light & gives him an explanation of that which is keeping him from sleep. Colorful illustrations and easy to read rhyme, I gave this a 4th star because both groups were engaged by this story... a few of the children with sleep/fear issues even added their ideas!

This is one of the most popular books I've ever read during a preschool storytime. I usually have to read it many times.
