What if Cinderella was the Beauty…
…and Prince Charming was the Beast?

Elly DeVerre is a ghost in her own life, invisible until she makes a mistake. Scarred by the fire that killed her father, Elly is hidden away by her step mother and forced to run their family-owned brothel, silent and unseen. Lurking in dark hallways, and the back of the kitchen, Elly anxiously awaits every whim and request. It's a thankless life, one Elly is tired of living.

So, when the invitations for the yearly ball arrive at the brothel, Elly is determined to attend… and never to return. One night of fun, and then eternal peace.

Elly's plans unravel when she meets Prince Ashton Thorn, who whisks her away to the royal hedge maze where she experiences passion and desire for the first time in her life. Until the clock strikes midnight and the prince leaves her lost in the maze… alone with the beast rumored to prowl somewhere within.

The beast at her side brings with it an ember of hope, the chance for a better life, of healing, and Elly is ready to see where the beast may take her.

CinderBeast is a steamy, spicy retelling of Beauty and the Beast with Cinderella trappings. It contains consensual romance between a human and a monster.

What happens when Cinderella’s Prince Charming is the one who turns into a beast at midnight? The most beautiful, pure and soul healing love is created.

I adored this reimagining of two classic fairytales; Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast. Elly’s pain was so thoughtfully portrayed through the trauma of losing both parents, physical burns and scarring and enslavement by her ruthless stepmother, the Madam of a brothel. Human Thorn and Beast Thorn were both equally tender and commanding (he can call me a ‘good girl’ anytime). He was everything that Elly needed after a lifetime of pain and loneliness. Faye’s role within the narrative was a surprise, but I loved the scene where she provided educational tips on how to take a Beast with the ‘he’s too big’ trope.

I would highly recommend this book if you’re a fairytale lover like me!

Thank you to the author for providing me with an E-Arc in exchange for my honest opinion. This book is a mashup between Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast. This is a reimaging of both, where Cinderella's Prince Charming turns into the Beast at midnight.

We follow Faye and her life with her cruel stepmother and two sisters. The whole town is invited to attend the Royal Ball, and Faye is found to fall in love with a prince who is cursed by his mother's past mistake. There is smut in this book, a little beast/human spice. I found myself glancing over the storyline. I enjoyed the smut, but I found everything else to be lacking. I was questioning some parts of the story, and I found the writing to be a little all over the place.

Thank you to the author for reaching out to me and offering me a copy of the E-ARC. Once I read the synopsis I knew instantly I’d be interested! A mash-up of Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast with smut, hell yes please, and it didn’t disappoint! I loved the character, Faye too, I’d love a story focusing on her. This is a book I definitely want to pick a physical copy up!

Monster romance is one of my favorite genres, so when the author offered me a review copy of this, I was happy to accept!

The concept of blending Cinderella with Beauty and the Beast works really well in theory. There were a few hiccups in lore, but over all the two concepts were blended together well enough that the cracks were minor. There were also a few things left out of both original stories (although I didn't miss having a Gaston insert) for the sake of the connection, but nothing too major.

The themes are definitely dark. The book literally begins with suicide ideation. But it does fade with time and there are no actual attempts made. There's also some self harm, but again it fades as the story goes on. Admittedly, there are some vibes of "this romantic relationship cured my trauma" that I'm not a fan of. But thankfully there's nothing severe on page, for those that need to avoid that kind of thing.

The first struggle I had with it is that the characters seem to act on meta knowledge, or otherwise act out of character to progress the story. For example, the evil stepmother outright allows Elly to go to the ball. She's still the evil stepmother in every other respect, and hasn't allowed Elly to go any other year, but for some unexplained reason she decides this is the time. Or how Thorn and Elly just accept that Elly is going to be staying at the castle without setting up an in-world reason as to why. Later on it mentions that they "both kept up pretense that she was the royal artist" but they never set up that pretense ahead of time. She just kinda ends up in the palace and stays there. It feels like everyone simply knew "this is the thing that has to happen next" rather than acting on personal motivations or reasoning.

The second struggle was how the worldbuilding felt a little hollow. Like the fact that the prince has a giant ball on his birthday, but then spends the rest of the year in a nearly empty palace with next to no servants and no one sees him. There's no commentary on it from t he town, even as much as they're talking about the ball. Or the fact that Elly lives in a working brothel but only ever sees or interacts with one worker, who doesn't even work there regularly. (Admittedly, Faye is a bicon and, coincidentally, the best character in the entire thing.) And the "beast" doesn't really explain his curse, like when it started or why it happened. And when there is a big reveal, it doesn't feel like a reveal. More like very late-game exposition.

Despite my struggles, the outline for a great work is there. I wish the pretense had been set up to make the switch from the Cinderella story to the Beauty and the Beast part flow a bit better. And I liked how Elly didn't magic lose all her Cinderella-based trauma when she switched to living in a palace. The fairy godmother insert being a slightly chaotic queer sex worker is just next level thinking. But despite a great concept and great outline, the book needed a better set up with clearer exposition, deeper worldbuilding, and characters acting realistically within their motivations, knowledge, and perceptions.

But there were still great steamy scenes that monster fuckers will undoubtedly delight in.

Half way point and I am so damn confused. Is this historical? A new world entirely? What year is this supposed to be? There's no context.

Also, do people just have no propriety here? Is this a different planet

Overall the love story is cute. The writing is a mess. A couple of examples:
"His tongue assaulted her throbbing slit first, soon joined by two obstinate fingers that explored within". Obstinate? Really? Or is that a fancy sounding word that could be crammed in there for style?
"He continuously stroked her hair, his hands combing praise along her scalp." Once again, it's a little silly and doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

With some cohesive world building and a little less try hard this could have been great. No star rating because I don't want to affect the average, but I'd give it a 2/5

This is a spicy fairy tale retelling of Beauty and the Beast, but dressed in Cinderella's clothes. At the start of the story, we see Elly working essentially as a slave to her stepmother and stepsisters in what used to be her family home. Stepmother has turned it into a high-end brothel and forced Elly to work behind the scenes in it. Elly is withdrawn, subservient, and has been browbeaten into thinking that she is worthless and her stepmother is being extremely generous.

The story has all the trappings of Cinderella right up until the ball - and that's when it shifts into more the Beauty and the Beast story, because Elly wakes up in the beast's castle and is offered a deal of sorts. And really, it keeps her free of Fiona so how can she possibly argue?

While the beginning of the book did drag a bit for me, I really liked the blending of the two fairy tales, and how well meshed the spice was! It took a while for them to go all the way, but once they did, whooo boy! This tale is also excellent for those of us who think the Beast should have stayed a Beast at the end!

I was lucky enough to get a copy to arc read. Cinderbeast is basically a take of Cinderella and Beauty of the Beast.

A young woman, void of birth parents and forced to submit to her cruel step mother and two sisters, with an invitation of the whole town to attend the royal Ball, the young woman is found to fall in love with a prince who is cursed by his mother's past mistake.

It's a quick little hour read, roughly 200 pages.

There is smut, a little beast/human spice.

Unfortunately at times I did glance over the storyline, not in a hurry for spice but purely because I've read too many stories that use Cinderella as it's baseline and if you took away the twist and spice than it reads no different to those other takes of Cinderella.

It's a good story if your into retellings but this story just isn't for me.

Elly, the female lead, was seriously burned in the incident that claimed her father’s life. Living with scars, her stepmother has told her she is ugly and made her a household drudge. Given the opportunity, she goes to the prince’s ball and has an exciting interlude with Ashton, the male lead, waking to find herself comfortably ensconced in his palace but with him more or less absent. She convinces him to show himself to her, not just converse around barriers and, whilst surprised to se his form, she comes to love him.

This story is female lead POV, well written, and an interesting fairytale-retold romance. I enjoyed Ashton’s care of Elly and his consideration of her needs. I enjoyed Elly’s growing self-confidence. I found this a character development based plot and I enjoyed it.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.

So this is a mashup of the two fairytales with some clever twisted and reshaped plot points. The theme throughout the story is learning to deal with trauma and find self acceptance and worth. The beast aspect is something that would not be for everyone, so be aware he does stay a beast for almost all the spicy scenes. And when I say beast I do mean very aninalike and NOT humanoid like some other stories. My only issues were with some grammatical errors (possible formatting issue on my end?) And some of the vocab choices felt a little stiff or irksome at times even if it could have been true to the character or setting.

I received this ARC e-copy for an honest review.

First, Elly and Ashton were so darn cute

Second, the spice was a 3.5 to 4 for me anyway.

I did feel like there was just something missing from this book, it kept me engaged throughout the whole story. I just felt, I don't know. Maybe I just wanted more, I'm not sure. I'm not a writer by any means, just a huge reader.

I absolutely loved the cinderella, beauty and the beast mashup. I wasn't quite sure what I was getting into but I ended up loving it.

All in all, I give a 4 star.

This is a retelling of Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast. It starts out with your typical Cinderella story, but then has Elly seeing a Beast in the forest. After the ball, Elly again sees the Beast. This is when the story goes from Cinderella to Beauty and the Beast.

I liked this book a lot. Elly and Thorn were made for each other. I loved the way the two fairytale were intertwined. I hope the author has other mixed fairytale retellings.

This was such a delightful retelling mashup! Watching Thorn show Elly the beauty of the world was everything! Sweet and tender with perfect spice! I read it in one day.

This is a MF romance, but there is a heart warming FF flirting scene near the start. (This isn't a complaint at all, but I know Lilith does some fantastic FF, so just a note for anyone wondering the pairing of the novel.)

This story was received as an ARC. It did not disappoint! A fairy tale mash-up with some beastly smut. The story moved along nicely. Although it was a retelling & you knew where it would go, you weren't 'completely' sure. There were extra lines in it that gave it more depth. This is the first book from the author for me and I would be interested in more

A girl goes to the ball and meets a boy. Things get spicy and then she meets a beast.
She wants the beast and he wants her but can they ever be truly together.
This is a good story, with some great scenes. The chemistry between the leads is great and heated scenes are melting. If you like a bit of monster in your loving then this is definitely worth a read.

I was given an ARC copy by the author. I found this book easy to read, but amareurishly written. The characters were inconsistent with their fears and passions and the smutty scenes were early on (which is nice) but also not that great described; which is why I give it 3 stars.

Loved this retelling mush up! It was great to see how the two main characters interacted and how they both showed that even with their flaws they can still love one another. Faye was such a good fairy godmother and loved all the ways that she was there for Elly!

It was not worth it 🫢. A mash between beauty and the beast and Cinderella where she clearly prefers the beast and who can blame her? 😂
I wouldn’t read it again, it was a quick lacking smutty story with a very predictable ending. Some parts felt rushed and the characters didn’t have a defined set of likes dislikes fears and such. Basically zero character development, predictable ending, predictable storyline…

This is a retelling of Cinderella with a little Beast thrown in. Elly is the stepdaughter of Fiona who, after her fathers death, had been forced into servitude. Covered in scars from the fire that claimed her father, Elly keeps to the shadows as she grows up. Then the prince’s ball come and Fiona says Elly can go if she finishes her chores and has a dress. Elly goes and catches the eye of the prince who takes her out the hedge maze until the clock strikes midnight. The prince, Ashton Thorn, runs and leaves her alone in the maze where a beast is said to reside. When Elly wakes up she finds herself a guest of the Beast, and for the first time is able to live her life as she wants.

Elly went through alot. There are some dark themes here with suicidal thoughts and self harm. So it was good to see her discover herself and gain some self confidence with Thorn’s help. He is very gentle and supportive of her as she heals. It's lovely. That being said I was a bit disappointed that there will be no way to break the curse despite them getting their happily ever after. I do worry about future children though lol. But it was a quick and easy read and I did like it.

I received an E-ARC to review.
The concept is fantastic, but the execution was a little lacking. The story dragged in the middle, and I found myself having to reread some parts because I lost focus.

The spice is good and plentiful, though a little unnecessary at times. I'm all for some good spice, but only it it drives the plot forward. Some parts early on didn't seem to do anything for the story itself and just seemed to be spicy the sake of being spicy.

The FMC is relatable in her struggles, and even once addressed by the MMC, she still has times of inner struggle, which I feel is very realistic. However, there are times her fears seem to be a non-issue, which makes it harder to suspend belief.

All in all, if you enjoy retellings you will likely enjoy this book as it is unique.
