This book is an amazing tool to help build friendships!
I highly recommend this story for teachers and families to help foster relationships and give kids a plan to help facilitate a play date that will ease anxiety that comes with inviting a friend over for the first time. I love how the author is mindful of the challenges children face when it comes to each step of inviting someone over the house and addresses then gives a solution. This is such a brilliantly created story that gives engaging activities children can use to help plan their playdate at the end of the story. This would be a great book for therapists, educators, and families to use with kids, especially children who need a more specific structure of what ti expect on a playdate and specific strategies to help have successful playdate.
A practical book to help kids run their own play dates!
This book is mind blowing! As a parent, I have never run a play date as systematic and structured as the book teaches! I usually just let the kids play themselves! I didn’t know we could have done so much to help my child work on leadership skills, planning, and perspective taking! I can’t wait to try this out with my 5 year old! I would recommend this book to all parents!! 👍👍
This book is fully loaded! (And I have a feeling it’s his is true for the entire series, although I haven’t read the other books.) There are so many tips, tricks and techniques in this story to help assist kids take the reigns on earning their independence by learning important planning strategies in the world of play dates! The illustrations were great too! I love the dog!
As a former teacher and aunt of a five year old and one year old, I can't say enough good things about this fun-filled book. Learning how to set up a play date and care about others and make and keep friends is a major skill for a child to acquire for his or her lifetime. I loved the charts and lists so much and can see how a child can benefit from all that Stephanie Chan put into this lovely book. The art and heart is filled within the pages.
Much thought for how to make a play date a safe, fun day
This little book is of great value as the author has taken the time to produce a guide for parents to help their children play in a safe and productive way. I believe as many parents as possible should read this book and use the principle ideas to set conditions under which their children can interact. It would be a very positive outcome if parenting groups added the book to their list of required reading.
Wow, this is a well done picture book with easy and inviting instructions to teach a child how to run a play date and what to do along the way, I like how practical it is, and at the end, the checklist to give a child and or a parent. I almost wish that even adults could use this book in reference to any friendship and age. I liked it so much I sent a copy to my niece for her children.
This was a great book written to help kids learn how to events. I also love the beautiful illustrations and at the e d of the book the Author equipped the readers with tools to help the reader plan for their next e event. A very helpful resource and book.
Well, my family says I am too structured and organized, so I’m always shooting for more spontaneity, but for the child who needs to learn more about structure, planning, goals and expectations, this book is a great tool! —Particularly helpful for the shy child who is nervous about making new friends!
