As a young girl living in New Zealand Stacy Gregg wanted to be two things when she grew up – a horse rider and a writer. She now considers herself very, very lucky to be both at once!

Becoming a writer was the easy part – all she needed was an exercise book and a pen. Stacy wrote loads of poetry and short stories at school and then became a journalist, writing features for magazines and newspapers and working as a fashion writer (v. glamorous and lots of fun!) before her first book in the Pony Club Secrets series was published in 2007.

The last book in this series. No clue why they stopped here, the first year is just over and there are still a few years left at the school. It is a shame that this one never got any further. We will never find out what happens in the classes, what they will learn, will they graduate, and many other questions.

So yeah, I am quite sad that it has to end like this. The book was full of drama (mostly silly), annoying boys, but also horses and an apprenticeship that seemed so fun, but we (the readers) know better and are just waiting for our duo to find out.

The apprenticeship was a fun add to the book/series, especially since we didn't only get Georgie's POV, but also a friend of hers. I do feel sorry for the kids though. They have school, they also have horses to tend to, and then also have to work hard and at strange hours. Luckily, these kids are made of strong material, but I do wonder how many would just fall apart from doing all this.
I also liked the apprentice ship because it showed a different side to everything, we didn't just get to see the school (or the surroundings) but we also saw beyond that, and that made the book fun and interesting.

I did love the horse stuff, and I was shocked when that came up in one of the apprenticeships. I never heard of it, but I did some research, and really why would anyone do that to an animal? *shivers* Some people shouldn't be allowed to train horses.
For something better, I did love the jumping and that the girls did try to find time to tend to their horses and get better at jumping. Go girls! That is sure some dedication.

The whole Riley x Georgie? Sorry, I didn't like it. The rare moments that they clicked were sweet, but generally I was just pissed at Riley for being such a dick about stuff. Maybe you have all the time, but please understand that some people have busy schedules. I can imagine it might not be fun, I can imagine it might be hard. But sorry, what do you want Georgie to do, just drop stuff? Get kicked out? You do know she will get send to England again, instead of staying around do you?
Oh, and why ever would you listen to a girl when she tries to explain something to you. *sighs*

Conrad was also just terrible in this book, how deluded can you be? Bah!

Kennedy. Well I already hated her, but I definitely hate her more in this book. The crap she pulls in this book. The way she just uses her richness as a power to get somewhere. Horrible. I do hope that when she gets to real life something will happen that will kick her down a notch or two. Maybe not nice, but sorry, she was just despicable.

The ending was a delight, though of course also sad. I am happy for the character though, and I loved Georgie's plan. :P Good job girl!

All in all, this was a series that I really enjoyed. Lots of fun horse stuff, boarding school antics, and much more. I would definitely recommend it!

I love this book. It’s a wonderful way to end the series, the romance, the thrill, and the anticipation was amazing. There was a lot of surprise in this book and I didn’t see a lot of it coming but it definitely was a good page turner. I love reading Stacy Gregg books, as he always tells a great story and write so well. can’t wait to read more from her :-)

My goodness, the relationships become so superficial, cringey and toxic. What is going on??

I keep saying I'm so not the target audience for these books, but I have so much fun reading them. They're not too over-the-top w/ the mean girls and/or romance like a lot of teen series, and the horse stuff is spot-on. Looking fwd to the next one.

I would give this book 4 stars because it had slow parts but apart from that, it kept readers on the edge of their seats. It was really good even though it is more character driven rather than plot driven. I would recommend this to anyone aged 8 or over and it’s great to read alone or as a family but there are some emotional parts.

No comments.

I would love to have seen more adventures from Georgie and the Blainford fold but this is a good enough ending to the series. It wraps up a lot of the loose ends from throughout and I felt very sentimental to see how far Georgie and Belle had come since book one and their goodbye at the end of the school year was bittersweet.

I liked how this story would split between Georgie and Alice’s apprenticeships as that was an interesting perspective. They both grew up a lot in this series and to see what decent people they’ve become was lovely. Their apprenticeships were both morally testing and which both enrage the reader but also have you conflicted yourself.

This was such a good book, Georgie's relationship with Riley is such a crazy one, but I'm glad it turned out in the end. I'm so proud of Marco and his progress from being an untrainable horse that would randomly do 180s to a crazy cool racehorse that wins the Firecracker! This series was so much fun to read again, and I would totally recommend it to anyone looking for something new.

I thought this book was great! There were a lot of surprises in the book and I'm really sad it's the last book in the series. I wish that Stacy Gregg had made a few more books, but I loved it so much! Defiantly recommend this to girls from 9+

I liked Georgie in this, she really proves herself as a rider and a decent human being but again the sexism that surrounds the girls is grating, though Conrad for once had some depth in the conversation he shared with the heroine, which is a nice breeze of fresh air from the stereotype he used to be. Alice's passages dealing with her newfound love for dressage were most welcome - I do hope the author's going to continue showing other characters' points of view.

I personally don't think that this has been the best book in the series but I still really enjoyed it.
