When I saw the premise of this book, I was really intrigued...
At the first glance the plot seemed like countless others - the main character (in this case, heroine) had to get her muse..and what does her friend suggest? Have some hot sex, of course! ;) What I've usually found here is that, the MC finds their partner/mate/other half....and they go on a sex binge.
And what I found in Kathleen's book was totally unexpected, and really interesting...
Without giving away any spoilers, I'd say that the heroine, Callie, is really an adventurous sort.... She's earned the name "trisexual" and there's more than enough instances where she lives up to that name! There's some hot phone sex involved...and she goes out with a couple to kick start her muse, even before she meets the hero! And of course, the relation, spark is instantaneous. In a hilarious manner, so to speak. Think spilled coffee beans and a canine whose name coincides with the hero's ;)
There's a lot of laughing moments along with intense moments - both in terms of reality and sex...
This is the part what I "loved", that, the muse doesn't necessarily come crashing after a sweaty round or two. To get good ideas, Callie needs something more than sex...and she gets it too! Obviously, from the hero.
But is he the "one" for her? ;) :p They do share things, but not everything. And Callie is someone who doesn't give up so easily... I fell in love with her for her determination and frankness :)
There's a reason / a story for everything in the book, from the "height of the bed", to why she was out there buying "coffee beans" instead of freshly made concoctions. No sooner than the question was formed in my mind than it was answered :) Kudos to Kathleen for tying up all the loose ends into a tightly packed fast read that I finished it in one sitting ;)
