In life we control our destiny, but not totally. Luck is involved in everyone’s journey—good and bad luck. What causes this luck is not up to us. It just happens. This novel is about that luck. Yes, there are plenty of decisions a detective on vacation decides to harbor an escaped prisoner. Then that same detective decides to pursue the villain who helped put that innocent man in jail. The villain then decides to try to redeem his life by solving another crime himself. A final decision is made by that detective—he decides to kill that villain. However, there is still one more decision. But that wouldn’t be fair; you have to read the book. Suffice it to say, that the characters in this book have decided the path their life takes. But luck ultimately becomes the main player. I am a retired English teacher, who has now written ten novels. This is one of them. It seems that nowadays everyone and his dog writes a book, so even though I know that my work has merit, some luck will have to intervene. Maybe you’ll have a fascination with my last name. Let the dice roll.
