This gorgeous cookbook delights in every way. I had no idea what wonderful food they had in Scandinavia but I am hooked (just got my second cookbook, the Scandinavian Kitchen).

Most of the recipes are simple (even the breads aren't complicated) and if you love smørrebrød there are quite a few of those recipes too.

They love their salmon here and have many unique and wonderful ways to serve it. The food photography is exquisite. Not only did I want to start making and eating this food I wanted to go to Sweden in the gorgeous summer and see this incredible country.

This book has everything so you can create a true smorgasbord. I will add to this review once I've created some of the recipes.

This cookbook is too beautiful to keep hidden in the kitchen. Not only are there fabulous pics of the food but also amazingly beautiful pics of Scandinavia. The author has organized the recipes by season when foods can be found at their freshest and locally. She also includes wonderful personal paragraphs about each recipe, giving you an insight into Scandinavian traditions. While the raw fish, pickled herring and roe recipes are not exaclty delightful sounding to me, I think they make lovely photographs ;) More appealing to me are the desserts and simple summer salads. Good stuff!

Great photography, nice blurbs about the recipes, and loads of recipes I'd like to try. I like the fact it is divided into months of the year with corresponding photos. Looking at the plates, I realize we Americans need to learn lots about portion size.

My only concern--some of these recipes have a large yield (I could easy see myself overlooking it and making enough for 12).
