Skim reading is my favorite way of getting through a book that intrigues me but bores me silly at the same time. I'm sure you know what I mean. The plot has grabbed me, but all the constant rehashing of their feelings is putting me to sleep. So, skip the rehash and read the parts that move the plot along, the last 20% is pretty good. Problem solved.

Maci Ford is the office manager for San Antonio Security and had been banging the boss for the last three months or so. She suddenly comes to the conclusion that she just isn't good enough for him because she has a drug addicted mom and she herself was once a drug dealer and a prostitute. But she dragged herself out of that and has only looked back every time Chance is nice to her. She is still working for them even though she has given Chance no reason for her abrupt departure from his bed.

The boys have taken on a stalker case. A high profile, wealthy, spoiled "influencer" has picked up a nasty follower. Shocking, right? Maci is a dead ringer for this woman and even though Chance has a really bad feeling about this Maci is going to take her place to draw this guy out. But the game changes when Maci confesses she is pregnant, and the stalker turns out to be a serial-killer who turns his sights on Maci.

Boy what a way to wrap up this series. Lots of suspense and surprises.

Chance and Maci have been circling around each other for a while now. Everyone knows they belong together except them.

Maci Ford was weak for almost nothing, but Chance Patterson was the exception to that hard-won rule.

Chance Patterson and his brothers run a security company. There latest case is high profile and complicated.

He was a protector in his very DNA. A good man. And she was definitely the wrong woman for him.

Keeps you on the edge of your seat with secrets and danger around every corner.

This is the fourth and final book in this series. They can be read as standalone books. Chance and Macy have been circling each other for a while. Chance’s brothers were just waiting to see when they would give in. Little did they know the pair already did. Macy fears Chance finding out about her past and breaks things off. But it won’t be that easy. Macy is pregnant. She never really wanted to break things off with him anyway but now she must find a way to tell him about the baby. How will she manage being connected to him but not with him. Chance just wants to know why Macy broke things off with him. How he can fix things. Things get even more complicated when the case they are working takes a turn and Macy becomes a target. Will they be able to figure out who is after Macy before its too late? This was a fantastic book. I was so excited to read Macy and Chance’s story. Through all the books you could tell something was going on between them but were sure how it would go. Chance is natural care giver and protector. Macy has had a rough childhood and had to care for herself. Her fears keep her from being with Chance. Can he prove to her that none of that matters to him? Wonderful job Janie. I can’t wait for your next book. /Janie is a must read author for me. I don’t even read the blurb anymore.

Chance and Maci were always going to be explosive!

Arguing or lovin', they cannot stay away from each other, but Maci is fighting demons. Figurative demons from her past, her family demons and her own fears, is she strong enough to stand and fight or will she run and hide? She is so strong but doesn't see it for herself, she lets her past overshadow her future and her mother's vile filth makes her doubt her worth.
Chance is a protector and a provider, at this point it is almost a need. He needs to be needed, so falling for a strong, independent, feisty woman like Maci is never going to be easy, but he doesn't want easy...he just wants Maci...forever.
Dark and dangerous, the Patterson brothers may initially overlook the obvious but it doesn't take them long to put the pieces together and realise they need to look closer to home for someone who is far more dangerous than anyone first thought.
I am sad this is the final book in the San Antonio Security series but it is a great finale.

Texas Bodyguard Chance is the fourth and last book in the San Antonio Security series by Janie Crouch. 😢 I really like this series and I loved how this series is based on a family who isn’t blood related. ❤️ I am sad that this is the last book in the series, but am excited about what Janie is going to write next. The SAS series is interconnected, but each book can be read as a standalone.

Texas Bodyguard Chance is the surprise baby/protector office romance story of Maci Ford and Chance Patterson finally get together. These two have been fighting like cats and dogs in this series and now they finally get their own book to tell their love story. Maci Ford is the office manager of San Antonio Security. She helps keep the four brothers in line and on top of things at the office. Chance Patterson is the fourth son of Sheila and Clinton Patterson and co-owner of San Antonio Security. Maci and Chance’s relationship has always been in the background and have only known them to be fighting with each other in a way that’s like a boy pulling a girl’s pigtails at school. Everyone knew these two had some sort of chemistry and thought they would eventually explore it, but little did they know they already had.

Maci Ford has a troubled past, but she has earned everything she has in her life except for the constant harassment of her mother. And it’s because of her past and her mother that she keeps secrets from the brothers and her friends. Keeping everyone especially Chance at arm’s length allows her to keep her present/future away from her past. But the pull she has for Chance makes it difficult for her to keep everything hidden away and when she discovers she’s pregnant, she realizes that keeping it all separate is going to be a lot harder than she thought it would be.

Chance Patterson grew up in the foster care system and it was a God send that Sheila and Clinton Patterson adopted him. Life up until he moved into the Patterson’s house was rough and he was always expected to take care of everyone else before himself. With years of doing this, he has had a hard time putting himself first and is always looking out for others and the ones he loves. So when Maci reveals that she is pregnant with his baby, she vows to do anything and everything to keep her and the baby safe at all costs. But little does he know who is coming after her and what she could be hiding.

This book takes you on a fast paced journey of Maci and Chance’s relationship and how Chance and his brothers protect Maci and their soon to be nephew safe. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good protector romance with the steaminess behind closed doors. It’s a good book to get lost in. You should definitely check out the author’s backlist as well. She has so many other great books that you have to read. I love love love the Patterson family and how they are always there for one another. I absolutely love the last chapter and whose POV it is. 😍

TEXAS BODYGUARD: CHANCE is the fourth and final instalment in Janie Crouch’s contemporary, adult SAN ANTONIO SECURITY romantic, suspense series focusing on the Patterson brothers: Luke, Brax, Weston and Chance. This is security specialist Chance Patterson, and PA Maci Ford’s story line. TEXAS BODYGUARD: CHANCE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary

Told from dual omniscient third person perspectives (Chance and Maci) TEXAS BODYGUARD: CHANCE follows in the weeks after a one-night stand between our story line couple. For months Chance Patterson and Maci Ford, San Antonio Security’s receptionist and PA, have been dancing around one another but a one night stand ended when Maci ghosted our story line hero, without explanation or good bye. Fast forward to present day, the team has been hired to find the person stalking a social media influencer but all does not go according to plan when the stalker turns their attention to our story line heroine. With the discovery that Maci was now carrying Chance’s child, Chance becomes guardian and protector of the mother o this child, a woman who is about to come face to face with a serial killer. What ensues is the building relationship based in forced proximity and unexpected pregnancy, and the potential fall-out as Maci may be the killer’s next victim.

The world building continues to focus on the Patterson brothers-4 young boys who met and were adopted from the child welfare system, adopted by a loving couple with no children of their own. As each brother met and fell in love with their future bride, while on the job, Chance would discover his future was within arm’s reach all of the time.

The relationship between Chance and Maci begins as employee and boss. Maci and Chance have been dancing around one another for a very long time but Maci’s past refused to let, and if discovered, Maci believed Chance and the Patterson family would want nothing to do with our story line heroine. There are no $ex scenes or implications of such.

All of the previous story line couples including Clint and Stella Patterson return, as well as the introduction of Maci’s mother Stella, and a small group of security meant to protect the social media influencer.

TEXAS BODYGUARD: CHANCE is a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, family and relationships, acceptance and love. The premise is intriguing and exciting; the characters are energetic and determined; romance is implied.

Texas Bodyguard: Chance

Clinton and Sheila Patterson adopted 4 sons with various abusive backgrounds. Chance is tall, nurturing, and protective of those around him, especially family. He was this way growing up in the group homes and foster homes he lived in and has not changed as he grew up. This is why he started the Security company with his brothers.

This is the fourth book in the Texas Bodyguard series with as much fun and excitement as the others. Chance is a thinker, planner, and solver of problems. When a company has an issue they call the brothers, Chance talks to them, finds out what they need and begins to plan their protection, and then how to keep it from happening again. In the background of the company, besides his brothers who hold many other roles, is an office all-around girl-Friday, Maci. She makes sure all their “T’s” are crossed and “I’s” are dotted, paperwork filed and invoices sent, etc. Along with that she also does her best to keep the brothers organized.

There is always tension between some in any office, which in this case, Luke always has to argue about any paperwork/office duties, Brax just likes to stir the pot to keep things lively, i.e., Weston, comes in and calms the waters, but Chance, well he and Maci have a dance around the office with what seems like mutual irritation, but everyone knows they have feelings for one another.

The cases they generally take are high-profile, as their reputation has gained them high respect for protecting, people and assets discreetly and successfully. The newest case is Stella, a very entitled, spoiled child of a wealthy businessman. She has a stalker who his protection team cannot seem to track down and squelch. When they see a picture of Stella it looks just like Maci so Chance wants this case for her protection as well.

Maci sees Stella’s picture she decides she wants to help and become a decoy for her to catch the guy. Now our story has all it needs to be riveting, exciting, emotional, very fast-paced and who doesn’t like a great book with a twist?!

Chance, Maci, high-profile case, Patterson brothers and a roller-coaster ride, this book brings the saga of Texas Bodyguard four-book series full circle in telling the story of Clinton and Sheila Patterson who had a big happy family despite being told they could not have children.

To say I couldn’t wait for this story is an understatement after these two characters had me laughing hysterically from book one! Chance is the most strategic of all of the Patterson Brothers and the one who loves to take care of those he loves the most. Miss Maci Ford is the sassy, sweetest, hardworking office manager they have ever had. Luke especially has a soft spot for her because she keeps him from having to do any paperwork which everyone is thankful for. Maci and Chance are like fireworks constantly going off when these two start at it. Both of them are clearly like magnets being drawn towards each other but they both seem to have some things that keep them apart. To say Chance would do anything to have a chance with Maci is an understatement and Maci is doing everything she can to keep from losing everything out of fear. Maci believes she won’t ever outrun her past, but sometimes we don’t need to outrun it we just need family to help us deal with it. Fate definitely brought these two together and decided to make sure they make the most of this Chance. However sometimes their job brings them into contact with the unsavory crowd and this time it’s a psychopath pretending to be normal. A simple stalking case turns into one heck of a ride for the entire Patterson clan but who will win in the end? Can we forgive ourselves for the choices we made when we felt we didn’t have a choice? This book has some fantastic twists in it that I thought for sure I had figured out but was very pleasantly wrong about. I really enjoy it when I think I have it figured out but the author is so good that I truly don’t. This book series is one of my favorites from Janie Crouch and everyone who knows me personally knows I’m a BIG FAN of her spectacular stories and characters. This book had me hooked from the first page till the very end. I absolutely love the beautiful family she created with this series and hope that everyone can experience a family like this sometime in their lives.

Terrific ending to this series. Chance and Maci have been picking at each other since the first book in the series. It is evident to everyone around them that they are attracted to each other. No one knows that they got together for a short time before Maci broke things off. Now she's pregnant and hasn't told him.

I've liked Maci from the start. She does a terrific job of keeping the brothers organized and in line. She is a private person and doesn't share anything about her past. She has worked hard for everything she has but is constantly harassed by her addict mother. Keeping her past separate from her present and future is very important to her, including hiding it from Chance. But when she discovers she's pregnant, she realizes it has become more complex.

Chance grew up in the foster care system until the Pattersons adopted him as a teenager. In those foster homes, Chance was expected to look after everyone else, a habit he has been unable to break. He still puts everyone else before himself. So when Maci reveals her pregnancy, he vows to do everything possible to keep her and the baby safe.

Matters become complicated when Maci gets involved in their current case. A case of stalking against an internet influencer turns into the hunt for a serial killer. Maci becomes the killer's target, and Chance's determination to keep her safe puts them in forced proximity. I was glued to the pages as the brothers worked to keep Maci safe and identify the killer. I also enjoyed seeing Chance work to get past Maci's walls and show her that they belonged together. I ached for Maci and her belief that Chance and the others wouldn't want anything to do with her if they knew her past.

The story's suspense and the search for the serial killer was intense from start to finish. The twists and turns of narrowing down the suspects kept me guessing until the end. The final confrontation was a nail-biter. I loved how Maci kept her head, giving Chance and the others time to find her.

I loved the epilogue and seeing the entire Patterson family together.

This is the last book in Janie Crouch’s “Texas Bodyguard” series. Ms. Crouch ends the series with a wild, page turning romantic suspense. The plot is complex with non-stop action and many twists and turns that will captivate the readers. In fact, the author gives us so many false clues, that everyone will be surprised when the stalker is finally revealed.

To compliment the fantastic suspense, Ms. Crouch includes two complex, multilayered main characters, Chance and Maci who are basically kind, generous and loving people. Yet, they frequently argue with each other and often purposefully refuse to listen to each other’s advice.

In spite of that, they very obviously love each other. In fact, they have already slept together. However, Maci soon breaks up with him and refuses to continue in a relationship. Maci grew up in a miserable dysfunctional family. Her parents neglected her because of their addiction to drugs and alcohol. As a result of her miserable life, Maci also developed her own problems. However, she has since completely straightened up and now works for Chance and his brothers.

As a result of Maci’s difficult past, she does not feel that she, and her family, are not good enough to be part of Chance and his family. She is so ashamed of her parents and her past that she keeps it all a secret. Thus, Chance is perplexed when Maci, who was an eager, willing partner, all of a sudden, , refuses to have anything to do with him.

Things change when Maci acts as a decoy to help the brothers capture the stalker. This begins to bring them closer together. And then, when the stalker decides to stalkr Maci, the couple is so worried about each other’s safety that they can no longer hide their feelings.

This beautifully intense romantic suspense is an awesome way to end this heartfelt story about a childless couple who adopt four teen-aged boys and raise them to become happy, intelligent, successful and loving men.

I voluntarily reviewed this copy of "TEXAS BODYGUARD:CHANCE" Wow!!! This was an excellent way to conclude this amazing series each story was fantastic full of suspense, intrigue, lies, angst, secrets, danger, murder, stalker, serial killer, steam, emotional turmoil, fear, feeling inadequate, twists & surprises that keeps you turning the pages up the end.
Chance Patterson & Maci Ford alway had a heated explosive relationship she was office manager of San Antonio Security they've been secretly with one another until she ghosted him he didn't know why, she's haunted by her past her mother Evelyn an addict always wanting money or she'll show up at her work she didn't want Chance to know so it was better to keep her distance from him.
Maci put herself on the line play a decoy to make the a stalker show himself after a job Chance takes from Nicholas LeBlanc when a stalker is after his daughter Stella a media influencer.
Maci becomes the target of psycho stalker & so do the guys at San Antonio Security he wants to show them he's the best their trying to figure out who he is always one step ahead of them but they start to piece it together.
I definitely recommend to get this very emotional rollercoaster ride "Chance & Maci" take you on eoevually when he finds out she's keeping secrets from him & a surprise he next expected will they get their HEA, will they get to the stalker in time after Maci goes missing once again, when they figure out who the stalker really is, it a must read for sure.
PHENOMENAL ENDING TO THIS EXCELLENT SERIES 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

Texas Bodyguard: Chance is the final book in the San Antonio Security series. It reads well as a stand alone. Chance is on a stalking case with a client when Maci gets pulled into the case. When she is attacked, Chance learns that she’s carrying his baby, but will these two be able to figure out their relationship and what the future looks like, or will the stalker’s deadly tendencies turn towards Maci instead?

Oh my goodness! You know those books that you pick up, expecting to only read a few chapters at a time, but is a little easy to put down? That’s not this book! This whole series has kept me on the edge of my seat, constantly guessing what will come next, and this book was no exception! I devoured this book! I loved every moment spent within these pages, and I could not put this book down until it was finished! So good! I loved Maci and Chance, and have been rooting for them in the previous books! Maci is brave and willing to help others, but has some serious issues with trust and guarding her heart. She feels broken and ashamed of the past she has, but I loved that Chance only wanted the opportunity to show her how much he loves her! I love the tropes when he falls first, and this book had that! Chance was fantastic, protective, forgiving, and so in love with Maci. I loved them together! So good! The danger and tension came from unexpected areas and I really enjoyed trying to figure everything out. This series has been really fun and enjoyable, and I loved how everything ended! I would highly recommend!

Oh my this was such a excellent way to close this series ( if it's the end...) i really loved Chance and Maci, they both want to protect each other and that causes more misunderstanding than anything.
Chance is a a real caregiver/caretaker since he was a child, now even adult he still not fully used of being taken care of even if Sheila sure helped him a lot there are still time he forgets. He will do everything for his family.

Maci had a difficult childhood and made mistake but now she building her life thanks to her job at San antonio security...she loves the boys and want to protect them...especially Chance since day one there were sparks between them...and more but with her life burdened because of her past she decided to stop the relationship by ghosting him...she keeps working with him but try to keep a wall between them thinking he deserves better.

However when a stalker threatens their client before moving to Maci, Chance and his brother won't stand by and dig deeper to protect her and her unborn baby.

Really i loved the romance even if i was bothered when Maci gave up so easily and so other to her mother...really the patterson are too forgiving on that front for my taste. But chance and Maci are perfect together, the suspense was good even if i guessed the culprit his motive were still a mystery. The epilogueis such a great and moving conclusion it's hard not to shed a tear. great romance suspense for sure

Maci and Chance are always at each other's throats - bickering and fighting. Doth they protest too much?

When in the office, Maci and Chance are like oil and water - they just don't mix. However, after hours, the two embark on a steamy affair until Maci abruptly ends it. Chance doesn't understand what happened. Maci is very closed off, but the bits and pieces that have been revealed to him makes Chance only want more. Some of those hidden truths about Maci center on her dysfunctional relationship with her mother and her own sordid past.

When Maci is attacked and Chance finds out she's carrying his child while she's in the hospital, he's determined to find a way back into Maci's life. Not only does he want Maci, he wants a family with her and his child.

I have so much admiration for Maci. Despite her tough start in life, she's made a series of positive changes and good decisions that have allowed her to be independent and lead a worthwhile life. She's overcome so much and come out the other side as a self-assured, feisty young woman, even if she keeps herself closed off from others.

While all of the Patterson brothers at San Antonio Security series are protective and loving, I think Chance is my favorite. He's bound and determined to fit Maci into his life, he's accepting of everything that makes Maci who she is, including her past. He wants a family of his own so much, that he takes her pregnancy in stride and will do anything to protect her from the danger coming after her. He really is a caretaker at heart.

Four stars for this protector romance.

This is an honest, voluntary review of an ARC of the story.

Texas Bodyguard – Chance
San Antio Security #4

Always sad to see a good series end but so glad there was a happy ending for all of the Patterson brothers!

What I liked:
* Chance: abandoned and raised in the system, always took care of others, responsible, caring, capable, strategic thinker, knows Marci is the one for him
* Marci: raised parents with addictions, difficult childhood, survivor, worked hard to do more with her life, fears her past will impact her future, has a lot to deal with, really likes Chance
* Getting to see the Patterson family and finding out how all of them are doing
* The strong Patterson family bond and the four brothers closer than many brothers with the same biological parents
* The plot, pacing, setting, and writing
* That I cared about the outcome and was rooting for Marci and Chance
* The process by which the baddie was found and eventually dealt with
* Thinking about the future happiness of all the characters

What I didn’t like:
* Who and what I was meant not to like
* Thinking about dysfunctional families and the impact they can have
* Some of the decisions Marci made…I could see she would get into trouble when she made them and wondered why she did what she did…more than once

Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I read more by this author? Yes

Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.

What a fantastic way to end this series! I have been waiting for Chance and Maci to get their book and boy was it worth the wait. These two have been circling each other throughout the previous three books. You could taste the attraction and tension between them. I knew once they got together it would make for an amazing read. I started this book over my morning coffee thinking I would read half of it and then finish after dinner. NOPE. Once I started I couldn't stop and read it while my coffee grew cold, pretty much untouched. What I liked was that this story was a bit different then normal romantic suspense. Typically you have your damsel that has an issue and your alpha that falls for her as he works to help her. Here our couple already know they want the other but it's Maci that needs to be convinced, not Chance. And the suspense isn't really about Maci as the story begins. It's about a client. Then things take a surprising turn. I just loved how the story progresses and the suspense builds. Chance is the perfect alpha love interest. I also just love his parents and how they support the Patterson boys and their women. This book was so worth the wait. I highly recommend this book and all the others in the series.

New to me author Janie Crouch! I'm doing some research on bodyguard romances and this book immediately got my attention because of the .

What I loved:
I loved the overarching theme of the romance. The men of San Antonio security are all multiracial adoptees who are added to a family of an interracial couple who was told they couldn't have children. Although not blood-related, I really enjoyed the tightness and bond between the bros. I love it when we get heartfelt moments and sibling teasing. The author did an excellent job depicting that. I also liked that we got a heroine who used to have a drug problem. Too often are heroine perfect in romance and I loved that Maci had some grit to her and despite her young age survived so much. Chance on the other hand went through a lot as well, but he was so protective of her which I liked but sometimes I wanted to shake him.

What I could have done without:

Chance and his three brothers have owned and run San Antonio Security for five years. Maci is their office manager. Maci and Chance are always butting heads over something. Everyone in the family knows that they have strong feelings for one another but they both continue to ignore those feelings. They are hired on a case that has Maci more involved then just running the office. She finds herself going undercover to help with the assignment. The guys would never put her in danger but the case gets more complicated then they thought and the next thing they know Maci's life is at risk. Chance's protective instinct comes roaring to life and he can no longer keep his feeling for Maci to himself.

This story was so exciting! It has a few great twists I did not see coming. What a great epilogue that ties everything together. This series has been one of the best series I have ever read. It is full of suspense, romance and mystery. A lot of action and a high level of anticipation.
I received a copy of this book which I voluntarily read and reviewed; all opinions expressed are my own.

We've been waiting for Chance and Maci's story. Their constant battle of wills is their foreplay. It has been fun to watch the sexual tension build and now with their book, we have the front row seat to all of that passion. They do not disappoint.

I love their push and pull, neither Chance or Maci give each other a break. They challenge each other and with the current drama San Antonio Security find themselves in, it takes the whole team to figure out who has made Maci a mark. She does annoy me at times with her telling Chance one thing and then doing another when she knows in her soul that he cares for her...a lot, but the adrenaline pumping story does not get watered down by it.

Everyone should have parents like Sheila and Clinton Patterson. They are loving, accepting, understanding and give incredible advice. They seem to know what is needed at the right moment to help in any situation. Maci reaps that benefit because her own mother is a nightmare and part of Maci's inability to really open up and let Chance into her life.

You will not be disappointed with this final book in the series. It compliments the other books and completes the Patterson family tree with a beautiful happy ending.

Their one unforgettable night together was not enough for either of them, but Maci Ford can’t afford to get any closer to him than their work relationship. Chance Patterson, who has always been the caretaker of their team, is one of her bosses at San Antonio Security. She believes her past, which never seems to stay buried, makes her unfit for Chance. Their current case involving the stalking of a wealthy young woman has them baffled. How is the stalker able to leave messages for her with the security provided by her father as well as their team? When Maci realizes that she could be a twin to the woman, can they use her as a decoy? Chance says no, he couldn’t bear for anything to happen to her, but reluctantly agrees to train her in self-defense tactics. During her training, she realizes that she might be pregnant from that one night; now what does she do? When the stalker decides that Maci would make a more thrilling target, will the team be able to keep her safe and eliminate the threat? A perfect ending for this wonderful series. Chance is the fourth and final book in the San Antonio Security series. I've been anxiously waiting for Chance and Maci's story ever since we first witnessed these two verbally sparring in the second book. They truly seem to drive each other crazy, but you can see there is a fierce attraction between them. After finally giving into their feelings, Maci sneaks out of Chance's bed because she fears what might happen once he or his family learn about her past. She decides there can only be a professional relationship between her and Chance no matter how much she wishes for more, then she learns she is pregnant. She decides she will tell him about the pregnancy once their current assignment is over, unfortunately the assignment takes a deadly turn forcing her to come clean sooner than expected. Chance not only has to come to terms with the fact he is going to be a father but also how deep his feelings for Maci actually run. Once thing is for sure, Chance will not allow harm to come to the woman he is coming to love and their unborn baby. This was such a fantastic ending to a great series, I can't wait to see what Janie has in store for us next.

A riveting read, wonderful characters and scenario you’ll enjoy thoroughly
Maci has been fighting demons and there have been from her past but she is determined that she is strong and stands and fight and she hides. It is a wonderful fight and her will has to be strong otherwise she would be forced to fight and hide which is above and beyond her mother’s vile nature.
Chance is a protector and he is needed so failing for a strong and independent feisty and Maci is going to be easy and he sees Maci and kit is obvious that he wants to have other and keep her forever. Dark and dangerous the Pattersons brothers have taken over.
This is a wonderful read I guarantee that you will enjoy the character and the story and you will be left looking forward to this story.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.
I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

Chance's story was the finale to the San Antonio Security series and it was a great one to end the series with. Chance Patterson has been keeping a secret from his brothers. He has been having a personal relationship with their office manager Maci Ford until she stopped seeing him outside of the office. Chance can't understand what happened between him and Maci but he knows on thing. Maci has secrets. Lots of secrets and Chance is determined to find out what they are and why Maci pulled away from him. Maci has had a rough start in life however she has turned her life around and wants no one to know where she came from least of all Chance. After Maci is attacked everything around her spirals out of control and Chance is determined to protect Maci at all costs. This really was a good emotional story to end the series with. Chance and Maci may appear to be oil and water on the outside but their hearts know differently. It was told from dual POV and even though is stands alone it will be best enjoyed if all of the other books in the series are read in order.

Fourth and final book in the San Antonio Security series, and Chance and Maci’s story.
Chance is the nurturer of the boys the Paterson’s adopted. He’s always put the care of everyone else before his own. However, now he’s found something he wants and he’s going to do everything to get it.
Maci loves her job at SAS, she’s lucky the guys took her on. She loves Chance even more, so it’s best if she stays away from him. Her past leaves a lot to be desired.
I loved this story. I liked how Chance is willing to step out of his comfort zone to get Maci. And when she reveals her past it isn’t even a blip to him.
The four books are about family of choice, and not family of birth. How one couple taking on four lost boys, and giving them love and confidence to become the great men they were supposed to be. Getting the loves of their life is a bonus. This book like the rest in the series is a must read, and one I will visit again.

I received a review reader’s copy of the book, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Chance is the last of the Texas Bodyguard series and it's a great ending to it. There's suspense, intrigue, drama and danger. But there's also a wonderful romance woven throughout. Janie Crouch gave us bits and pieces of Chance Patterson and Maci Ford's rather contentious relationship in the other Texas Bodyguard's books so, it should come as no surprise that these two finally gave into their very strong feelings for one another. In doing so there are far reaching ramifications. The Patterson brothers have been waiting these two to hook up almost from the moment they hired Maci. Chance wants more. Maci keeps him at arm's length with good reason, at least to her way of thinking. A stalking case has the brothers scratching their heads and even implementing a plan to draw out the stalker fails but puts Maci in harm's way. As a result Maci must reveal a truth to Chance that makes him go into uber protector mode but she's still holding something back. Once she reveal everything she's certain that will make Chance walk away. Yeah, that's not happening.

Great series ending with a wonderful epilogue. Maci and Chance have been at each other’s throats since the first book – always snarking and verbally sparring with each other. Everyone else recognizes it for what it is, a fiery attraction to each other, but the two of them only see the other as annoying…at first. When the sparks flame and they become more – secrets Maci’s keeping from Chance could end their potential relationship before it truly can begin. The Patterson clan has become a family to Maci and she’s worried what Chance and the rest of the family will think of her when her truths are revealed. When a current assignment turns deadly and Maci becomes a target, Chance realizes how deep his feelings actually go for the spitfire office manager. When she reveals her past and secrets, Chance is all in, and with his brothers at his back, he’ll stop at nothing until Maci is safe and by his side where she belongs. Adrenaline-fueled suspense, action, secrets, family drama, danger, and romance round out this fantastic story. The entire series is a must read.

This is the final book in the series, the fourth brother to find his person. Chance and Maci the secretary for the San Antonio Security office have had sparks flying for the last few books. There was some foreshadowing in Weston's book that they may have spent time together. They are perfect for each other, however Maci has a past and baggage, which she thinks Chance will not accept. In her mind she's not good enough for him. Maci forgets that Chance had a rough start before the Pattersons adopted him.
This book surrounds a social media influencer who has a striking resemblance to Maci and is being stalked. Maci steps in undercover and the stalker makes her and San Antonio Security his new target. Chance and his brothers need to put the pieces together before it's too late. I got to say I didn't see that one coming as to who the stalker was.
I received this book as an ARC for an honest and voluntary review.

4 1/2 STARS!

Addictive danger and heartwarming happily ever afters! The final book in Janie Crouch's San Antonio Security series with Harlequin Intrigue did not disappoint as it brings a romance between Chance and Maci to light and unravels secrets and mysteries galore! I loved this series as a whole and each brother brought a unique aspect to the security agency and family alike.

Chance is gruff and attention grabbing but he's all heart when it comes to Maci. I enjoyed getting to see the softer side of him.

Maci is sassy and we've known there was more to her story, so it was rewarding to get to see all she's overcome and all that keeps her strong. I adored her.

I recommend this book as well as the entire series to anyone that likes a little romance mixed with high octane, fast paced intrigue in a race against the clock to get to that happily ever after before danger strikes.

Maci is the efficient and sassy receptionist for the Patterson brothers. Seems she and Chance are always snipping at each other. While the rest of his brothers have found their other half, Chance lost his when Maci slipped out of his bed after a night of passion. I loved how we got some insight into Maci and what made her tick. Chance had a time on his hands trying to get her to open up to him and after discovering the first of many Maci secrets he realized he needed to communicate better. These two both had bad childhoods, but they had overcome and only together could they really succeed. Maci pulled a bit of the TSTL stunt, but thankfully she was able to think on her feet and get herself out of a bad situation, well mostly. I immediately caught when the bad guy tipped his hand. Hearing his "reasoning" for doing what he did was crazy. I loved that the Patterson clan had a great epilogue. Amazing series from this author.
