“You don’t belong to him,” Severn growls. “You belong to me.”

How I wish that was true…but everything’s changed now.

A steamy and swoony paranormal romance perfect for fans of Scarlett St. Clair and Zodiac Academy!

Willow's life has been turned upside down by a cruel twist of fate. She finds herself swept away to Severn's Italian villa, seeking refuge from the powerful rival fae, Black Ember, who has claimed her for his own.

However, even within the werewolf-guarded safety of Severn’s villa, amid the masked Carnevale balls and opulent grounds, Willow cannot escape her troubles. She is plagued by dark dreams and a supernatural pull that draws her away from Severn and towards a dangerous yet alluring new court.

As Willow struggles to come to terms with these strange occurrences, secrets about her family's past come to light. Torn between the man she loves and the dark prince she is unwillingly bound to, it will take all of Willow's courage to pursue her heart’s true desire and survive the cruel world of the fae.

Wilde Heart is the second book in the Fae of Manhattan series, which contains sex scenes, dark themes, and adult language.

It's possible I was born in the wrong time. I've always been drawn to the past, the future, other worlds—basically anywhere but the here and now. I write fantasy to satisfy my nagging curiosity that there is more out there, just beyond the veil.

Until I find a portal through a magical armoire, I'll continue writing romantic fantasies with a touch of darkness and hint of magic.

I'm the author of fantasy romance sagas include The Godkissed Bride series and The Castles of the Eyrie series.

So much happens in this book and I'm here for it.
Black Ember had me drooling! 🫠

By the time I finished reading this, I was so confused about who to trust and what was real. I think this speaks a lot to the writing skills of the author to put me in the exact same place as Willow.

I know dogs are a good judge of character, so I definitely paid attention to the vibes Puck was putting down.

I loved Henry and May in book 1, but I enjoyed seeing Willow be the true focus of this as she's battling her affliction and being torn between two Fae courts.

I loved the masquerade ball and the library. Both of these scenes were so interesting.
And of course, the island scene. I absolutely noticed a certain something that is also mentioned in White Horse Black Nights and went crazy over it!

The spice level increased from book one. I'd put it around 🌶🌶🌶 because of the settings and situation.

6/1/24 Swiped from a review of a different book but it fit so perfectly that I had to add it here:
Then we also get a case of Plotzophrenia ( which is what I'm going to call the madness of an author forgetting their own plot points and so changes them half way through the book)

I've only made it as far as chapter five and have come across these glaring errors:

Willow being cursed from eating grapes:
While wine grapes are technically edible, they are not typically consumed in the same way as table grapes. Wine grapes have a thicker skin, more seeds, and a much sweeter flavor than your typical table grape. Additionally, they are often used to make wine due to their high sugar content. As a result, they are not typically eaten raw.

It’s highly unlikely that wine grapes would be included on a charcuterie. No one ever said anything about table grapes being cursed. Also, why in the hell did no one tell Willow why she shouldn’t drink fae wine? It only seems logical that she should know the reason. Jack, a human, also ate those grapes. Is he now part of the Sun Court?

Let's not forget that Severn has told Willow that he will never let her go so why didn’t he have her drink some of his court’s wine? That would have prohibited this whole mess.
*****
Wilde City, chapter 6 - Regarding Willow's mother: I could still vividly remember hearing the news that she’d disappeared. It had been five years ago, a few days after my eighteenth birthday.

Wilde Heart, chapter 2: As far as I knew, my mother - Alyse O’Dell - disappeared when I was five and was later declared dead by the police, though her body had never been found.

So what about all those references in Wilde City about Willow and her mother constantly on the move from place to place? If she was orphaned at age five, who raised her?
*****
Wilde City, chapter 18: We planned to meet up for lunch on her first day back, and I invited Mia and Azalea as well, delighted when they agreed enthusiastically. We descended upon a bistro in Midtown, and it felt marvelous to be out in the open with friends...

Wilde Heart, chapter 4 - Regarding Mia: I couldn’t imagine what it had been like to have not stepped foot outside Wilde Tower in twelve months. It had been part of a deal Talon had worked out to keep her safe from the witch who had cursed him.

This raises the question of how did Mia join the others for a luncheon excursion?

How can I be expected to enjoy a book if the author can’t even keep the plot points straight? DNF

losing interest!

I really enjoyed book 1. This one however was kinda meh. Willow being wishy washy was a huge turn off for me. She has no backbone and just went along with what ever Black Ember and his crew wanted. I mean within a few days she was in his bed. While she was supposedly in love with Severn. She has zero loyalty. She could have at least pretended to be and put up a little fight. I will not be reading book 3. I just don’t care enough to continue.

I'm unsure how I feel about this one. There were some major continuity errors (mother died when MC was 18, 5 years ago vs mother died when MC was 5, 18 years ago. kids were 7 & 9 and now 5 & 7 (and then back to 7 & 9 in book 3). there was another one I forget and then when the prague thing even happened changes from book 2 to 3) that kept taking me out of the story plus I don't like the direction this book went. I still like the setting

This series is pretty good! Writing/plot comes across a little cheesy for me, but I still enjoyed it and it’s an easy read.
