Monty Randolph plans to take a herd to Wyoming. He means to start a ranch for the family and one for himself so he can get out from under the irritating and watchful eye of his older brother, George. He's determined that nothing will stop him from succeeding, especially his neighbor, Iris Richmond, who wants him to take her herd to Wyoming along with his. The last thing he needs is a southern belle, steeped in flirting and vanity, on the filthy, exhausting trek over a thousand miles of dangerous, unsettled country. Her kind is strictly for looking at, not for buying. Neither does he need double the cows and double the responsibility. He already as three brothers along to worry about.Iris Richmond has nothing left of her father's fortune but a herd of cows. And if she doesn't get them to Wyoming, rustlers are going to take that. When Monty refuses to take her along, she puts her herd on the trail ahead of him and mixes the herds together. The continual danger of stampedes, rustlers, and Indian attacks drive the couple together, forming a relationship neither welcomes nor is able to deny. Beset by a thieving foreman and a long lost brother, Monty is the only person Iris can trust. And she means to trust him whether he likes it or not."IRIS is another utterly delightful, heartwarming romance and another special addition to readers' keeper shelves. IRIS is a dynamic combination of a wild western trail ride and a charming Americana romance. Leigh Greenwood's memorable characters work their way into your heart. I'm sure you will come to love them as much as Rose, Fern, George and the rest of the unforgettable Randolph clan. Here's to another winner!" - Romantic Times

4 Estrellitas.

This was a good book, but I got so sick of Iris and Monty fighting all the time. They either made out or made love or fought. No middle ground. It was like sparks were always flying, sometimes not in a good way. I certainly wouldn't want to be stuck on a cattle drive with them.

Iris was spoiled, and Monty is a self-serving kind of guy. The good news was that her flirting didn't allow her to get her way like it did with most other guys. Since Monty didn't fall under her spell, that made her hate him, yet find him irresistible. These two are not the most likeable characters. Yet, this is a very readable book. I am not one to stop reading a book unless I really dislike it, but I didn't feel the urge to stop. First of all, it's a really good western. You could enjoy this book on that basis alone, even if you don't like romance. If the sexy scenes bother you, just skip over them. On the positive side, you would like the sexy scenes if you enjoy romance.

Although this wasn't my favorite in the series, it's a very good book, and kept my interest. Would I want to be around Iris or Monty and the combination of the two in real life. No way.

Considering the fact that Iris starts out the spoiled darling of society, I couldn't help but find her incredibly irritating at times. However, she redeems herself in the end by becoming determined to be the kind of wife she thinks the hero, Monty Randolph, wants/needs...so I can respect her now. Especially since he is of the same mind—making himself and his life over into what he thinks Iris wants/needs. At times, this story was truly touching. At others, everybody and their brother (especially Iris's) needed slapped. :)

My least favorite book in the series(thus far), I got tired of the wishy washy heroine. Never did understand the attraction between the characters, that being said, I still like the Randolph brothers and their struggle to rise from the ashes.

¡Me rindoooooo! 😫

One of the most annoying heroines I’ve ever read. More than half way through the book and there is nothing redeeming about her still. She’s spoiled and a know it all. Questions Monty and people who’s given her no reason to question but when people like Frank and or her illegitimate brother start doing questionable things, she wants to be sure they’re not false accusations and she gets mad when Monty fires them. Almost wished she was trampled into a coma until they reached Wyoming already! Lol DNF!

Love the continuing saga of the brothers. This one was really good. Wonderful story , enjoyed the bits of humor that tied in so well with the individual characters. I enjoy the stories so much may have to read the first ones over.

Wonderful

A great addition to this series, opens more of the relationship between the brothers. A heroine you can get behind and watch grow as a person.

I really didn't like the H and h here, they are just too immature and selfish and just keep on fighting.

--------------
I really enjoy Leigh Greenwood’s writing, but sometimes it leans too heavily into realism for my taste. I appreciated that the brothers weren’t perfect—they were flawed and damaged in different ways, which made them more human. However, I struggled to feel the deep love and bond between them. Even their interactions with each other's children came across as rough and emotionally distant, lacking the warmth I was hoping for.

Most of the couples were just okay for me. Aside from George and Rose, none of the pairings left a lasting impression. That said, I did appreciate that each couple faced their own challenges and earned their happily-ever-after. It was also satisfying to revisit the previous brothers and see how their lives have progressed and how their families are growing.

Monty Randolph is happy-go-lucky, but don't let that fool you...he's the most hot-tempered of the seven brothers. His temper goes off and his mind shuts down. Never thinking before acting. As he's moving some Circle-7 cattle from Texas to a new ranch in Wyoming that he's going to run, he has to deal with Iris Richmond. She's determined to bring her cattle to Wyoming as well. Monty has no choice but to help her.

Iris Richmond never realized how spoiled she really was until she went on this cattle drive. Her mother had taught her to use all the tricks in the book to get people to do what she wants, but nothing works with Monty.

Enjoyable stories.

While formulaic, I enjoyed this book more than I expected. The progression, of Iris, from a spoiled, snobbish child who though only of herself and what she wanted, She starts out proud that she doesn't know how to work or cook or clean a house to a woman who enjoys the frontier, the freedom and open spaces. A woman who realizes when her demands create burdens on others and who has learned to appreciate what others teach her and what they do for her. In other words, Iris progresses from a caricature to a person who thinks and feels on her own, not following what someone else tells her to think and feel.

The introduction to the protagonists was so thoughtfully crafted, and the lady’s growth from high society to a capable herder was interesting. I just could not finish the book when out of nowhere, with no logical justification, the male lead decides to stop avoiding his feelings and pursue his love interest right when a seeming threat to the romance arrives with helping the widow. No genuine development in him here just seemed too jolting in the storyline, as though it was rushed writing at this point in the plot… I decided to stop reading with about another hundred pages left.
