A sequel to The Back End of Nowhere, when Catrin Morgan from Pennsylvania, U.S.A., had to leave her birthplace and move to Wales for her father's new job. In the sequel she is sent to La Rochelle to study French. But the reader soon learns that she is a Sea Girl who has connection with "Ones who could see" who help her through her adventures. When she returns to Wales and teams up with her friend, Twm, who is descended from Merlin, they foil the attempts of the dangerous "Spoilers" to fire underwater explosions and drill for oil in Cardigan Bay. Not as good as back end of nowhere but brilliant to read another story set in Wales by Jenny Sullivan one of my all time favourite childhood authors. Not enough books are set in Wales, and not enough children's books at that.
