An accident shattered her life. Can she find the strength to let go of the past and embrace a fresh start?
When 45-year-old widow Olivia Watson makes a life-changing impulse buy on an online property auction, she becomes convinced that leaving her old world behind for the cozy coastal town of Pebble Beach is the only way to move on from her husband’s tragic accident and give their teenage kids a new start at life.
But the locals don’t care much for outsiders – all except real estate agent Patrick Dillon. Olivia swears she recognizes Patrick from somewhere, but she can’t seem to place it. Faced with the momentous task of fixing up their new home, she welcomes his help – and she quickly finds their friendship blossoming into a deep connection...even if their kids don’t get off on the right foot.
But her new home is hiding no shortage of secrets. As Olivia begins to unravel the mysteries behind the town of Pebble Beach, she’ll be faced with tough choices about family, love, and her future. Can Olivia find her second chance on the shores of this lovely town? And can she let go of her grief and learn to open her heart again?
The Beachside Home is a delightful read that will warm your heart and send you away on a picturesque adventure about one woman’s journey to love again.
The story continues with a lot of still unanswered questions. Olivia still wants to meet Paige & get answers from her. How did she know her husband Joe and how is Patrick involved & most of all how did she come into possession of her husband’s painting that she gave him when he claimed he had lost it! The house still spooks her with music at night and other strange things happening for no reason. Patrick is at Olivia’s house & he hears a baby lullaby. He goes all over the house & outside trying to find where it’s coming from, with no luck. One night she’s really spooked when the pantry door opens & the painting she had gotten back from Paige that Olivia had given to her husband fell off the wall & split. It really freaked her out. Patrick is the one she calls and there relationship seems to be moving forward. Olivia wants answers from Paige but Patrick is afraid how that will go. He knows his sister has mental issues and can’t be trusted. He is also tired and stressed from all the secrets. This book is exciting and challenging at the same time. It sends you in one direction and you are still trying to figure out what will happen next. It’s a fast, quick page turner that keeps you wanting more. You will want to read each one as soon as you can because there is always a cliffhanger.
I received an ARC for free and I am giving my review for free in my own words. You need to read the series in order and I promise you won’t be able to put it down.
Olivia has finally decided to go through Joe's boxes, making piles , when she gets to the bottom, she finds a picture of 2 men and a woman in Vegas. The woman was made-up to look like a Vegas showgirl and is kissing her husband. As she looks closer she realizes it's Patrick, Joe, and Paige kissing Joe.
She takes the kids to school and heads for Patricks crying.
When Patrick answers the door he wants to know what's going on.
Olivia says,"I am crying because of this picture and I want an explanation now."
Let's read on as Hayley tries to explain this one. I need the next book NOW!!!!!
I received this ARC from Hayley and am leaving my honest review voluntarily.
After finding the picture of her husband and Paige with Patrick, she had more questions than answers and why Patrick not told her their connection. She now knew that Paige's boyfriend Joe, was her husband.
Strange things are happening at the house again.
Patrick's son is in an accident. Patrick's daughter, Jessica is going to stay with Olivia while Patrick stays at the hospital.
While Olivia is waiting for Jessica to get a few things, Olivia observes a paper on Patick's desk about Diamond Joe and Patrick.
I’m really enjoying this short story series, and I feel like I’m connected with the characters! I wonder what’s going to happen between Patrick and Olivia. I also want to know what is going on in Olivia’s house; strange things have been happening, and even Patrick witnessed something odd! The suspense is killing me!
Olivia goes to Patrick foe answers, he tells her yes he knew her husband they were partners. That they met in Vegas to sign papers. Paige has a mental illness that she feels more than what is really happening. She kissed Joe, and nothing ever happen between them. She needed time to digest all info. Brian has a auto accident. Olivia finds paper work with Joe and Patrick.
Olivia finally meets the woman who loved her husband and learns the truth about that...but there are more secrets yet to come.....more accidents happen. Keep surprising us Hayley!!!
The series continues with Olivia having more questions about her late husband Joe and his connection with Patrick and his sister Paige. This is such a great series and I am looking forward to more. I received an advance reader copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my review.
So the secret of Olivia's husband comes to light, and it is revealed in a way that is unexpected. Now the second unexpected secret has come out about Paige, but an accident happens and a new revelation comes to light.
Book 4is as good as the other three previous ones. They are all extremely catching and a pleasure to read. Good suspense and romance. I highly recommend it
Olivia had setled down and listened to Patrick explain about his sister Paige's disorders of bipolar and depression. She was able over time to accept these issues as who Paige was and Olivia even hired her to help clean around her own home.
Music from a baby's music box has yet to be found; even by Patrick, who was the last to hear it and spent hours searching for such a thing. Patrick received call from hospital, Brian was in an accident using Patrick's car. Everyone was settlong down from Brian's accident when Olivia is awaiting Patrick in his office, that his daughter just cleaned for him. She wanted Olivia to see how nice is offce looks nows when she sees a pile of folders,,,,
Received an early copy for my hionest and volintary review.
