When Grim was rejected by his mate, he took a step closer to death. But now his wolf longs for Journey—could she be the key to Grim's salvation?Grim is the second in command of The Iron Fang, a motorcycle gang of rogue shifters who were banished from Elysian when their mates rejected them. Their objective? To use what precious time they have left to save as many women as they can to try and receive redemption.

The moment a shifter is rejected, the clock starts ticking. When their time runs out, they go feral and must be put down—and Grim's future is slipping away.

When The Iron Fangs take down a supernatural trafficking ring, Grim gets to Journey's cell just in time to kill her fae captor and save her. At first, he thinks it's just the adrenaline—but there's no mistaking this Journey is his mate.

Journey was despised by her parents. They sold her off and, after changing hands a few times in the dark underbelly of the city, she was forced into sex work. Now, despite all she's been through, why does she feel a magnetic pull towards the giant, blood-soaked man standing in front of her?

Could Journey's love be the key to Grim's survival? Or will she reject him and seal his fate?

The Iron Grim is a steamy romantasy novel that centers shifters and mate bonds. It is perfect for readers who enjoy books that include a male dom and female sub, wolf shifters, and spicy scenes.

Fabulous!

Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐1\2
Trope: pnr, heroine in peril
Angst: 😱😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥

Vera Foxx is a truly fabulous storytelling and her world building is fantastic! Super in depth without overwhelming you and it completely sucks you in. Loved the premise of not giving up, even when everything feels lost. There was great chemistry between the 2MC's and the sexy times were super hot. I gave it a 1\2 star off just because w felt it went on a tad too long, but other than that, it was perfect. I'm super excited to continue with the series!

Sooo good with a side of bad

This book is hard to rate. There was a lot I loved but also some I didn't.

Plot: Shifter biker group that rescues women in smex trafficking rings. He finds his mate unbeknownst to him during the latest raid. She has a lot of healing to do, and he hopes this is his 2nd shot at having a mate.

What went right ✅️:
🤗pierced p33n
🤗mute/raw voiced MMC
🤗strong but submissive FMC
🤗hot smex scenes
🤗strong plot
🤗great fantasy world building with shifter lore
🤗group of rag tag stragglers to follow in other books
🫣red head MMC

What was a little meh:
🫣names for Wolf Entity
🫣Beretta's story arc was a little, huh
🫣MC club lite (it started strong with MC culture but melted away).
🫣loss of growly voice
🫣too long. Some parts dragged out or was over explained

Grim de Vera Foxx serie Iron Fang libro 1

Argumento:

THE IRON FANG :

I love this book! Grim is a morally grey wolf shifter, and Journey is the damaged human. They come together and fix what is broken! I'm obsessed! Fated mates is definitely one of my top tropes! This is a series! Each book is a different couple, but the stories are interconnected!!

The Iron Fangs were a bunch of rogue shifters that had been banished from Elysium when their mates rejected them. The majority of them were wolf shifters. Locke was the Alpha, with Grim aka Grim Reaper as his second. They had been getting letters in the clubhouse, telling them of places where trafficking in humans, and females of different species were being kept. They went in like black ops and saved as many as they could. These missions kept them busy as rogues they could no longer shift, because if they did they could go feral and would have to be put down. This was all because their mates had rejected them. On their latest mission, a Fae killed all of the women shifters, Grim got to the last door and got to the Fae before he cold kill the last one. I loved that part. That was when I fell in love with Grim. Warning, this part is bloody.

Locke, is acting Alpha since he is a rogue too. But he isn’t a true alpha because he needs his Luna in order to be one. All of the rogues are vetted before joining the Iron Fangs. Riding motorcycles is the closest thing to shifting into their other forms, so the Iron Fangs are also an MC. It was very interesting to see how they were in charge of the city and how they protected it. Weres of all types believed in the Moon Goddess Selene, however, once they lost their mates they blamed her and believed that she was heartless. I love all the members in this MC. From Locke, to Sizzle, to Hawke, Berretta, Bear, etc. Each has their own ups and downs during the story. How they interact is cool. They rough house like siblings. It was funny, and yet all of them were willing to die to save people they didn’t know, the innocents.

Amazing. The author made you feel so many emotions as you read. It was a roller coaster ride that was awesome! The book and background is so interesting. I really enjoyed it. There are some awesome reveals in the book. Journey is the young human woman that Grim saved. They are drawn to each other. How he cares for her and gets her to trust him is a beautiful thing. One of the things I thought was funny was that the medic of the MC is named Bones. I cried for Journey after finding out about her life. Warning this book has some triggers in it. So be sure to read those in the foreword.

Sizzle is fascinating as is Hawke. I wanted to slap them silly a few times, a couple of times for Grim and Locke too. Learning about the differences in these Weres was very cool. I can’t wait for the next book. It will probably be Hawke or Locke. Doesn’t really matter to me as all of them would be fun to read in my eyes.
This is the first book I’ve read by this author, but I am Hooked!

Grim isn’t so grim

⚠️spoilers ahead ‼️
MMC: Grim, this his story
FMC: Journey, it also alternates between his and hers POVs.

Plot- An MC of Rogue wolves and Shifters known as the Iron Fang, also a band of misfits who all roughly have the same things in common: they’ve been rejected by their fated mates or are now mateless in someway and are now slowly dying due to this. They spend their time basically fighting crime, bringing down sex trafficking rings, and all the things you’d expect law enforcement to do, but the MC does instead.
Grim finds his second chance mate, a human by the name of Journey who is one of the captives of a sex trafficking ring ran by the Fae.
Journey is stronger than she realizes. A life of tragedy and abuse since she was a teen, being shipped and sold from one awful place to another, yet she ends up rescued by a shifter MC gang, who are just doing it out of the goodness of their hearts? Yeah, Journey can’t wrap her mind around that. No one ever just does something for good, they always want something in return. So earning her trust is something Grim had to work on. He was SO incredibly sweet and gentle with her, even when he was a man of few words. I loved how he was with her, and made sure she was comfortable and okay every step of the way.
I loved how Journey so openly accepted the world of which they lived in and took it all in stride too. It’s a breath of fresh air not seeing the FMC run away for dear life because she doesn’t understand. And while I get that may make sense theoretically in ‘a real life situation’ but in the world of fantasy romance, at least she had an inkling he was different and the bond helped her realize she wasn’t afraid of Grim or being around him. Most characters are so conflicting with “I can feel I’m safe and I trust him, but it’s not normal to be a wolf. None of this is real.” Cue eye roll. I’m just glad that wasn’t the case with Journey.

Conclusion- Journey becomes the first human to successfully turn into a wolf after being bitten by her mate, Grim. She’s actually a living breathing priestess for the moon goddess, which the rest of the heartbroken MC members aren’t so reluctant to believe it. They’ve been through too much, seen too much, and have given up hope on the moon goddess. But Journey is their second chance and is bringing hope and second chants mates with her in this series. Journey and Grim are SO freaking cute. I enjoyed their story, and it was a good read! I’m looking forward to seeing if any of the other members quit being so stubborn and open their hearts to the moon goddess for a second chance. I hope they let the negativity go and quit doubting. I mean they’re technically mystical creatures for goodness sake, how hard is it to believe the moon goddess wants to make things right?!

Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ 5/5. Grims dirty talk was *chefs kiss* and his actions were even more so. Lots of spice with this couple who could not keep their hands off one another!

Wow.... Just wow

Whilst i'm not new to Vera's work this is the first book in a new series... And she hasn't disappointed at all. Vera has a way of making emotions just ooze out of these pages and she has done it again with Grim.

The pain, suffering and agonizing emotions of two broken souls who felt lost and forgotten. The desolation of the others from the Iron fang MC. It's all here in one book. I have fallen for Grim and he ever lasting need to protect something he never thought he deserved .... A second chance.

Journey is a forgotten human, sold by her parents and into a world where no one should belong. When she is rescued by a huge man covered in blood she thought she would never be free, assuming that no one ever does anything nice unless they expect something from her... In one way or another.

Grim is part of Iron Fang .. a MC gang full of rogue shifters close to becoming rabid. They try and make sure what little time they have left is used to rescue and protect the weak. They want to do something right before they die and head to meet Hades.

This is one hell of a book and I cannot wait for future books in this series. I haven't been able to put it down since it landed in my kindle app this morning.

Vera's other series Under the Moon is amazing with her world building and character development across a number of different mythical creatures. She has shown once again that her talents are amazing with this first book and I wait very impatiently for the next.

DNF 17% the book had a good premise. I liked the plot, a motorcycle club made up of rogue Ferrell shifters at the end of the line. The next step would be them getting put down due to them turning rabid. These rogues were made up of mainly shifters that were rejected by their faded mates and their animals(because there was more than one type of shifter. A dragon, panther, wolves and I don't know what other animals were part of the MC). So they agree to do good before they're put down and they go and save women who've been stolen and used for sex. I made the mistake of taking a peek near the end and saw that the girl who is the survivor of sex trafficking, is a shifter herself. You are led to believe up to the first eight chapters where I stopped that she was human. Now I don't know where in the book she discovers she's a wolf but I really hate that trope. I just wish authors would right either the woman being a human and nothing else or come out and say she's either a witch or shifter or vampire from the very beginning. I hate when authors lead you to believe one thing and then go surprise! The female is a witch or a wolf or vampire and she didn't know anything about this. One or the other please. I know this grape may seem silly to some of you but for me it's a stopping point. You're either or not one thing and then magically turn into something else halfway through the book.

Fantastic!

I liked this story so much that I read it all day, then instead of sleeping, cause I couldn't put it down, I read it all night! The length of this story is good, long so it's nice and detailed, not short and to the point. The characters are great and well thought out, you really get a good sense of who they are and how they are feeling. The two main characters are Grim and Journey, and they are fantastic together! The story almost makes you wish you could be just like Journey, only without her past. And who wouldn't want a wolf shifter mate? Or any shifter? That is unless you're not into the dominant type! Yikes!

It was really well written. I am a bit biased, though, as I am a fan of some of this authors" other books, however. I do have to say that the writing is better in this book than all the others I've read before. I'm definitely looking forward to the next two books in the series, I hope they're just as captivating as this one was, I'll let you know at the end of the series! I highly recommend this book, in fact, I recommend just about every book by this author, she's great at writing shifter stories with magic and fantasy, action and adventure, mystery and suspense. You should check it out! Enjoy!

4.5 Mine Mine Mine stars

~ rejected male
~ rogue shifters
~ sex trafficking
~ knotting/heats/ruts/scenting/breeding kink
~ OTT JP H

☑️ past SA of MFC, drugging, captivity
☑️ gore, torture, other violence

✅ no cheating, MC death, pregnancy or sharing

This was such a fun read. You get everything- an over the top possessive mate who won’t let his new mate go, even if he says he will. He’ll keep her by his side and out of site of other males, and don’t even think about looking at or touching her.

Despite his heartbreaking rejection decades ago Grim opens his heart to his second chance human mate and gives us all the steam we could want with ruts, knots, heats and breeding talk (no babies unfortunately). There’s a great overarching story line that will bring us more books featuring the other members of the Iron Fang MC club of rejected rogue shifters.

Can’t wait to dive into Hawks story next, I’m really waiting on Sizzles, the dragon shifter with a past that makes him hate women.

* There were some editing errors and inconsistencies that left me unable to give a full 5 stars.

Iron Fang MC raid a Fae building and Grim saves Journey.
Wolf shifterLocke the Alpha of the Iron Fang MC gets letter telling him of places they need to rescue women from. The latest target is a warehouse where women are supposed to be captive. As they find the first woman a shifter a fae kills her and drops through a portal and signals the killing of the others. Grim is a wolf shifter who is nearly feral and moving along the the rooms catches a scent and rushes to the last room just in time to grab the Fae before he kills the human female in the room. He rips him to peices then approaches the woman and his wolf claim her as his. Journey has been a captive for years and in the last place she is a cam girl expected to do whatever is requested. When the big man kills the Fae she is scared and wonders what will happen next.

Vera Foxx is a wonderful writer and this book is no exception. "Grim" is the first book in her new 'The Iron Fang' series and it is fascinating. Grim is a werewolf who doesn't have a pack as well as other pack-less werewolves congregated at a biker bar where they would hold their meetings. Their goal is to protect the innocent, particularly girls who are taken for sex trafficking.

Grim rescues Journey, a human, from a ring run by supernaturals and that is the beginning of their very complex and loving relationship. There are so many twists and turns in "Grim" that make it a fascinating read. It's beautifully written and captures what many people and werewolves want, to be loved and needed. I can't wait for the second book of the series to be published!!.

I absolutely loved Grim Book 1 of The Iron Fang. I can’t wait for more in this series. Grim is close to death as his wolf goes feral. After the Iron Fangs interrupted a sex ring, it doesn’t seem like there are any survivors until Grim finds Journey, a human. What he doesn’t realize is that Journey is his mate, his second chance. Being around her is healing him. Journey had prayed to the moon for help, her situation was dire, then Grim found her. Their connection is instant and she knows she can trust him. Together they will help heal the other get their second chance if they are open to it. This book has such a great storyline and I just loved the characters. Be prepared for all the emotions, laughing and crying, fear and anger. A few twists. I would definitely recommend this book. A great read.

★ “I’m your protector, your guardian. Never again will you feel afraid and alone.” ★

—>>> Grim and Journey’s story was one of hope and survival, just when they were on the brink of becoming lost to madness. His fellow MC shifters were all in the same predicament, and hopefully they will also get a chance to find their mates. Please mind the warnings below before you read. I was easily drawn into this author’s supernatural world by her storytelling and look forward to more reading more in this series!

“Note from the Author:
This book contains: Dominate male. Submissive female: This does not mean she is weak and fragile. Sex Trafficking. PTSD. Blood, gore, torture. Detailed consensual sex scenes. Knotting. Breeding Kink. Primal Kinks. Obsessive MMC. Strong Language. Memories of past rape, but written in passing. No details. Multiple POVs.”

Grim and his mate. The start of a wonderful "Journey".
I loved loved this book, the story line was amazing.
I love mafia romances, BUT I not a fan of a manwhore MMC or bad men who change for the right girl, sometimes I want a MMC that is a good man from the start. I don't need to see a manwhore change his stripes for the right girl, sometimes I want a real man who is in search of his girl.
This book was everything I was looking for, a strong OTT JP MMC who only has eyes for his partner. The story was fantastic with everything from wolves, bears, dragons and lots of horrible bad guys. A story line of lost mates, broken hearts and second chances.
This story opened a new realm of opportunity, creating a world where the supernatural and the human world are finding a balance together and saving each other.
I devoured all books one after the other.
These books are free to read on amazon/kindle.

A heartfelt tale of joining

This is book one of the series. This book focuses on Grim, the enforcer of the Iron Fang club of rogues. Locke, the alpha, was beginning to worry that they were all slowly dying off. Locke and Grim had started the Iron Fangs to give hope to the various rogues who would swear their allegiance. It did not mater your supernatural gift. Also, they were saving human females from trafficking. During one mission Grim sensed a being although it appeared that the bad guys had destroyed their own merchandise to prevent any witnesses. The journey begins there. Let me just add that the main focus of this story is a building of two kind of broken people into a strong couple. Read On!

Come out

What do you do when you gotta give up? You just keep going. The entire character list of this book have been cast aside and dealt a losing hand. But they are so much stronger than they think. Grim and Journey meet by chance, but it sets in motion a chain of events that will make all the difference. They both get a second chance at life and love, and they finally become who they are meant to be, paving the way for the rest of the MC. The storyline is absolutely phenomenal, but be warned there is mention of previous triggering events. This was my first time reading books by this author and I loved it! I can’t wait to see what happens next with the MC that’s meant to be a pack.

Grim is a member of a MC of rouge shifters, that are trying to protect their town from traffickers. He rescues Journey, a human, from the ring that is run by other supernaturals. The book is well paced, has sizzle, steam, action, drama, and more. But there is a lot going on in this book and at times too much. This book feels more like a prequel combined with book 1 of a series. There are a lot of characters, with a lot relationships, and drama. I can't believe I'm saying this would be better as 2 books.

DNF

I don’t know what I’m missing based off the other reviews but I’m 80 pages in and I’m done.
The repetition of the basic plots of the story is annoying, the repetition of the characters ‘stories’ and history is annoying. The random emotion switching from one second to another is grating and the writing is poor and someone really needed to check the grammar and spelling.
I’m not sure how this book got through with so many errors, the punctuation and messy sentences is annoying and that’s all within only 80 pages

Surprising

Okay so I definitely picked this up from a FB ad and I'm highly pleased that I did!

I LOVED the growly/over protective way that Grim was with Journey. Neither one of the main characters had an easy go of things - though I feel like Grim's childhood certainly gave him the foundation to be the great man that he was now.

The little twist concerning Journey and who/what she becomes was surprising and we'll done. It didn't feel like a crutch or last minute addition or anything.

This is entirely an it's-not-you-it's-me issue. There is a trigger warning that there is recounting of rape... what I didn't expect was for the entire plot to be wrapped around this. The FMC was sold into sex slavery at the age of 18 and rescued by our Hero and his team. So basically she is constantly thinking about, questioned about, reacting due to, having trust issues related to, and recounting the years of abuse. It became too much for me.

He is a wolf without a pack as is the other members of Iron Fang who band together to protect women against sex traffickers. He connects with Journey who found herself in a predicament with sex traffickers. It starts them along their journey that is filled with exciting twists and turns that kept me glued to the pages of this story.

Good Story

I enjoyed this book. It was spicy and had an interesting story. There were some things that could have been left out to make the story a little more cohesive. There were parts that made it drag a little bit but overall I liked this story. I liked that it's clearly a series since it introduces you to so many side characters. I'm very interested to see what happens with Hawke and Deliliah!!

Recommend.

Grim by Vera Foxx.
The iron fang book 1.
Journey is lost until Grim finds her. They are meant to be together. Grim is a wolf shifter. He is with the iron fangs. locke bear sizzle and hawke and tajah and berreta.
This was a brilliant read. I loved how journey and Grim were together. The Grim Reaper suited grim. This had lots of action in it. I'm looking forward to the next book. Brilliant. 5*.

Hooked!

I absolutely loved Grim and Journey’s story, and I’m now hooked on this series!

The rejected mate plot line in this is so heartbreaking and so good. It’s also a unique twist and I am looking forward to seeing what comes for this MC and the role Journey will continue to play for the rest of the crew and them finding second chance mates.

The spice in this was great and plentiful, with a few great kinks.

A refreshing change of pace

While I love Vera's other books, they can sometimes be a bit too sweet for me. This was just whay I needed. Grim and Journey are both two people that have Bern dealt a harsh hand by life, and I loved watching their story unfold. The steamy parts will leave y'all hot bothered. I love second chance romances, and I can't wait yo see the other Iron Fang members get theirs in upcoming books!

I read bear's book first and while it would have been cool to have had the back story reading this book first.... it didn't take anyway from anything reading them out of order. I met the author when I bought this book - worth all the hype. Grim was such a good read, so many twists and turns to set up the story line but it was delightful. I only gave it 3 stars because this could have been 2 books with how much happened to her and it felt a little long winded in some areas for me.
