the fact that this wonderful children's book only has around 15 reviews makes me so sad. This is an absolute STAPLE in my house. My parents would read it out loud together, my mom reading for Cackle Cook and my Dad reading for Igor. Should be up there with all children's classics.

I know, I know....they're monsters.
I know, I know....it's light-hearted, Halloweeny fun meant to delightfully disgust children while helping them with the Alphabet....the characters have great personality and the illustrations stand-out....BUT.
I found myself wincing at all of the innocent severed animal body parts included. It made me sad. I'm too sensitive, but I know that as a child I was even more sensitive and this would have upset me greatly.
However, I can see what fun reading it aloud in funny voices, sending kiddos into tizzies of chortles would be. Not every child is a little me, haha.
Not MY cup of tea~ if your little ones love a good gross-out, then I say try it!
