this book reminds me of the game treasure hunt. I love this game especially because of the treasure because if I ever play this game with my sister the treasure will always be chocolate. In this book, Geronimo and his family go to Ratlapagos Islands to search for a sunken treasure. my favourite character in this book is Thea Stilton because she is very smart in most books and she seems to be quite adventurous. My favourite part in this book was when they found uncle gray fur but definitely did not like the love doves part when uncle gray fur and aunt sweeter ha. Ewww. But it was quite shocking to find that they are other people finding for the treasure too. it was a very interesting and mysterious book to read
Read this in order to visit better days, I have a 2500 word assignment due tonight and needed a bit of a distraction haha Quite a fun read, however, now that I'm older, it has come to my attention that Geronimo is way too much of a pushover and that's the main reason as to why he gets to write so many great stories to begin with. He didn't need the treasure considering how much money he already has but went with his family regardless, and retrieved a member that had been missing for 20 years! Read this in a single sitting, took me less than an hour. Thea and Trap and quite fun in this and the antagonists don't seem to be too much of an obstacle regardless of how they ruined the discovery and retrieval of the original treasure lol Also a great time to read this considering that summer is right around the corner! Not much conflict and way too much of Geronimo's complaining. I love how he references the book within the book and says that the names of his family members were published on the cover, but clearly aren't, that's consistency for you. All jokes aside, I think it is the consistency with how the stories are written that made me fall in love with the series and reading to begin with. It must have served as some sort of safety net in my childhood days.
Realised I hadn’t thought about Geronimo Stilton in about 18 years, so immediately went to the library and got one out. Quick little 100 page bash accompanied by some very good looking illustrations.
As far as the story goes it is incredibly predictable from start to finish, with a real lack of any character development or emotional depth. The author clearly has the intention of introducing all the characters and letting you know who they every single novel which takes up about a quarter of the book. As a veteran Geronimo fan I’m ready to cut to the chase and get straight into the action, however I am understanding that perhaps this helps each book perform well as a stand alone or is easier for more casual Geronimo fans.
Still I love how creative the author is with the use of font and colour to emphasise some words and have them leap off the page and into the readers mind. Great tools to encourage the youth to get into reading. I also think Geronimo’s willingness to try new things, often against his own will is setting a great example for children.
Probably a generous 4 stars but it is a children’s book which is hard to compare with the other books I read. Major success on the nostalgia front, although it will be a one and done for the next 18 years I would assume.
I also appreciate the sheer quantity of mouse and cheese puns throughout. Likely the reason for the higher star rating.
Well, it's difficult for me to rate this book'cause I'm 18 years old, so not a child🤔😂 You are very surpried now, right? Why I read that book? The reason is that, I'm not a native english speaker, soo I had to practice this beautiful language, because I want to improve my english language skill🙂. So I won't rate the story, I will rate the whole book as I saw it. I think the Geronimo serie is very qualitative, very good for children! Very funny and creative stories! I liked this book and I suggest to everyone who would like to improve her english! The jokes was very funny for me as an adult as well! I understood the 90% of the book (as I'm on an uperintermadiate level in english), but I learnt a lot of new words and idioms!! That's why I can absolutely suggest these creative stories for You!!😊
Read this to the kids (Age 5 and 4) and I really like these books because the pictures are all in color and there is way more little pictures depicting some of the trickier things to understand. Can’t wait to read them more
The character aunt Sweetfur reminds me of myself because I love my nephew very much! And I can't believe aunt Sweetfur didn't forgot uncle Grayfur. If I was aunt sweetfur, I can forgot uncle Grayfur. I think two rodents are very bad mice. Because they tried to steal Stilton family's treasuere.
In the book ¨The Search for Sunken Treasure¨ by Geronimo Stilton tells a story of lost treasure but found love, yes the found the treasure but fortunately, one of the characters in the book find their long lost love. Overall I thought the book was funny and exciting! So, it all starts out with Geronimo, a book mouse that is the head of The Rodents Gazette and gets bestselling author on all of his books, chilling in his comfy mouse hole when he all of the sudden receives a lavender smelling letter from his dear Aunt Sweetfur informing him that she was coming out to talk to him, but what he did not know was that his cousin, Trap, and sister, Thea, also received the same letter. They all met up and and discussed the disappearance Aunt Sweetfur´s husband (Trap, Thea, and Geronimo´s uncle) Uncle Grayfur. Aunt Sweetfur had found paperwork regarding missing treasure and stating that Grayfur set off to find it. They all agree to set out to find the thirteen diamonds and thousands of doubloons stated in the papers. They also bring Geronimo´s nephew Benjamin along for the trip. About halfway through the journey they stop by a dock with a bunch of markets to restock on food and get fuel. Trap stops buy a restaurant and braggs about the treasure to strangers and Geronimo tells him off for that. Benjamin stumbles upon an object called an amphora and realizes its aged cheese so they hold on to it. They set of again and when they reach the destination Trap, Thea, and Geronimo suit up and dive down to the boat wreck to retrieve the treasure but notice they are being followed by by two greedy mice and quickly swim up to shore with mice still on their tail, they all go back to their own boats and decide to wake up early to take the treasure. Unfortunately, the greedy mice had the same idea and try to get the treasure. Trap straps on a fake shark fin to buy them some time but the other mice catch on to his trick and fight them for the treasure. All of them fail because during the fight the treasure spills into the ocean and they give up and go separate ways. The Stilton´s were lucky to go the route they chose because they find a tiny island that Uncle Grayfur was trapped on. Sweetfur and reunite and all is well for the two. They return to New Mouse City and donate the amphora to a museum and Geronimo writes and awesome book about their search for sunken treasure. If I could have changed anything about the book it would have been that they had not lost the treasure.
2nd GS book I read to see why some of my 4th graders adore this series and this mouse. Thought this one might be better than The Mouse Island Marathon. Read like a bad cartoon that you just wanted to end. Not sure if I'll direct students towards this series. Scholastic was promoting this series last year and I invited one of my former students to talk to my class about why she loved GS books. It sparked some interest. Just because I don't like it doesn't mean my students wouldn't...there has to be a market if they've been around since the year 2000 and there are 58 of them!
Again a very "cheesy" book about the "taily" life of Geronimo in the "big cheese"(beware some mouse puns). It was a good book. I didn't like it that much maybe because I'm a little older than a mouse and NOT A MOUSE. This book isn't stinky like blue cheese, but not better than cream cheese. This book didn't make me walk the plank or make me eat a mouse like a cat.
Wow..didn't expect to like this one, but I did! The three main characters are so unique and special. They are as well very hilarious characters. This novel was a fun and easy read. The mystery aspect was okay. However, what made me give this book a four star is the ending. Indeed, love toward family should be cherished.
I thought it was dumb, but my 6-year-old son liked it. Geronimo is a whiner, and the other characters aren't very nice. We picked up two random books in the series, and I'm hoping the boy doesn't ask for more.
In this adventure, Geronimo and the gang head out to sea to find a lost ship wreck full of treasure. Chased by dangerous treasure hunters, sharks, and the memory of a long-lost uncle, Geronimo and his family discover the true treasure of life!

Brief description: Geronimo Stilton and his family search for a sunken treasure despite Geronimo’s many fears!
Identify at least 2 characteristics of this genre and subgenre and discuss how they appear in your book. Geronimo Stilton The Search for Sunken Treasure is a part of a series for middle grade readers. Books in a series can be used to get children excited about reading. One of the hallmarks of series books is that they have intriguing characters that the reader enjoys getting to know and learning about. In this series, the reader meets Geronimo, his sister named Thea, his cousin named Trap, and his nephew, Benjamin. These characters are introduced before the book even starts with a little bio about each so the reader know what to expect of the character from the start and can predict that the character will react and act this way throughout the series. Geronimo’s cousin, Trap, is a trickster and likes to trick Geronimo. This personality trait is highlighted particularly in this book during their sunken treasure adventure. Books in a series can often have exciting plots that appeal to book male and female readers. This book has a fast-paced, high-sea adventure and has a mix of female and male characters of different ages. This makes it a book that allows for connections by a variety of readers.
In what ways and how well does the book as a whole serve its intended audience? This book has colorful illustrations and an interesting plot: going out to sea to search for a sunken treasure. Middle elementary students will enjoy this book because it is filled with humorous words and antics. Although, it can be somewhat distracting, readers may like the different fonts and colors used in the text to show emphasis on words. There is also a picture of the whole Rodent Gazette Staff at the beginning so readers can have fun finding their characters and then there are maps in the back for the different settings the stories take place. Another highlight for middle grade children….a joke section in the back.
Zo lief! Constant etteren. Constant pesten. Hij verpest gewoon het boek voor me.
Miss 5 listened to this by audiobook and enjoyed it so much that she asked for another. (After we listened to all of the audiobook Geronimo Stilton's that we could borrow, we started buying and borrowing the physical books; it helped that she was already very familiar with the characters and their quirks).
Miss 5 and I like to explore different books and authors at the library, sometimes around particular topics or themes. We try to get different ones out every week or so; it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new & favourite authors.
This book is about geronimos aunt sweetfur who wanted to visit the ralpagos island where her husband uncle grayfur went and never returned so aunt sweet fur called Trap and Thea to come to geronimos’s office .the next day they went to the island and saw the treasure with diamonds .then they saw an island near by so aunt sweet fur took the binoculars she spotted uncle grayfur waving a cheese coloured flag
Geronimo is joining Thea and Trap on another search for treasure, this time keeping to the ocean and trying to find out who else might be on the hunt! Dami is sure to catch the vivid attention of every young reader with this exciting entry to the "Geronimo Stilton" series. Get your scuba diving gear ready and set sail!
My favorite character is Trap because he is funny and weird in a good way. What surprised me is that Trap told two bad guys about the treasure and they fought over it when they found they treasure. I would not change the ending because it ends with a good ending and they found there uncle on a island.
They went on for a treasure hunt and found this massive treasure box. Then there was was a gang who wanted the treasure so badly they fought for it until the box broke into 2 pieces and the treasure went deep in the ocean. but they found another thing which was better that treasure.

My favorite character was Trap because he chased Geronimo with a shark watch and he thought it was real shark. What surprised me is they liked 20 year old cheese. I would not change the ending because it was funny.
Geronimo is going on a boat adventure to finand some sunken treasure that his uncle Grayfur husband of auntie Sweetfur lost on his trip to the Ratlapergos Islands. Uncle Grayfur has never returned so aunt Sweetfur was determined to find him.
