And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed. If you've ever had questions about Daniel's prophecy regarding the latter-day kingdom of God, Ezekiel's reference to the two sticks, or other writings of these Old Testament prophets about the last days, you'll find answers in Abomination of Desolation. Using the lamp of latter-day revelation, popular author Monte S. Nyman sheds light on Old Testament scriptures that refer not only to the Restoration but also to other important events that will soon transpire on the earth. This timely book adds valuable insight to such future events as the battle of Gog and Magog and the building of the temple in Jerusalem. Abomination of Desolation will strengthen your faith and understanding as it prepares you for the exciting days ahead.
Remember: three stars means "liked it." I'm fighting star inflation. As for the content of the book, it was pretty good. I came across something I'd never seen before with respect to Joseph Smith and weapons. Nyman does a good job avoiding speculation, but given the paucity of teachings from Church leaders concerning some of these passages, that means there is sometimes not much to say. As for the format of the book, I hesitate to mention it, because this was a free Kindle book, but the Kindle formatting is atrocious. So, so difficult to read. Every page or so there is a string of about 10 words with no spaces. What I assume were page breaks in the physical book are marked by a string of lower-case Gs. If the physical book uses block quotes or italics to differentiate scripture from quotation from Nyman's work, none of that formatting came over. You only know the source of a passage from context.
The sub-title is: The Prophecies of Daniel and Ezekiel in the Latter Days. Daniel has always been my favorite Old Testament book--not only for the courage and greatness (and excitement) of Daniel and his fellows but I have received inspiration pondering the prophecies. At last here is a book which explains these prophesies and the puzzle of Ezekiel. Nyman doesn't speculate--only includes explanations by scriptures, apostles, prophets and historical sources. Concisely, this book tells what is going to happen between now and the Millennium.
