Maria Kane and Kai Davidson are arranged to get married and for the sake of their parents, a promise made by their fathers years ago, they agree to the match. The arrangement was made between business partners and close friends; but tragedy struck and Maria’s parents were lost. A few years later, Davidson makes a move to fulfill his promise to his deceased business partner.
Maria and Kai have objections to the marriage, as they find the reason for the marriage ridiculous.
A wedding in a week? Fall in love in a week? Those concerns cease though, because it turns out they had a memorable encounter in each other's lives long ago.

Such a cute, little love story. The idea of arranged marriage is mostly a foreign idea to me & I loved this perspective. The different emotions that one must go through in the weeks coming to up the ceremony. The short story was well written and helped me picture the scene as I was reading.
A super light read that you can finish in 15 minutes or less. A perfect in between book if you need to get out of a slump.
The book is about an arranged marriage that Maria wasn’t sure she wanted to go through with. Maria and Kai’s families have made a deal to marry them off to each other. Maybe the young, talented businessman isn’t as arrogant as she thinks he is.
This is my first short story so it left me wanting more. But the little twist the author put into this made it very enjoyable to read. Very well written!
This is a short novella and it's a fairly sweet arranged marriage story.
Maria and Kai's families have made a deal to marry them off to each other. Maria is unsure about marrying Kai, but maybe he isn't the arrogant stranger that she thinks he is.
If you're looking for a really quick read, this one can be read in about 15 minutes. Since it is so short, it doesn't get too in depth with the story or the characters, but there is a little twist that made it enjoyable. There is another novella coming in this series and I'm looking forward to reading that one too.
I thought this was a super cute short story! It could be read in less than 15 minutes which is great for just a quick read while you’re waiting for something.
I personally wish I could’ve gotten more insight on why Maria felt compelled to meet with Kai in the first place when she didn’t want to. I know Mr. Davidson’s reasons and Maria’s uncle’s reasons but I didn’t know Maria’s which made me feel disconnected from the story.
Otherwise such a cute short story and definitely one to check out!
I read this as an ARC considering it is a novella it's a nice set up. Quick and fast paced. The writing style however is a bit choppy but otherwise it was sweet
This is cute, quick read about a couple who have an arranged marriage. At first Maria is hesitant, but as they learn more about each other they become more enthusiastic about their marriage. This book only takes about 15 minutes to read and is also available on kindle unlimited.
" Marriage is always a delicate topic, especially when it comes to marrying a stranger. " .... Book: His Bride Author: Alaa Lafir Genre: Young Adult Romance Format: E-Book Rating: A solid 5/5 ... Overview: His Bride is the first book of author Alaa Lafir's writing the "wedding series". A novella revolving around the concept of arranged marriage. ... My opinion: The storyline starts from Maria Kane's perspective. Telling about her life and how she ended up at her aunt's place. Her character is portrayed as a friendly and confident woman, one who wants live life on terms of her but can't because of a promise made by her father years ago to him a business partner and close friend, Mr. Davidson.
Maria is resentful of this marriage but can't help herself cause to keep her fathers promise. ~ wedding in a week? ~ falling in love with a completely strange? //A wholesome twist is waiting for you!//
I found Alaa's writing style quite impressive, words and emotions go too well together. Undoubtedly an utterly perfect read. .... Recommended: Yes, especially for beginners. Specifically, to those who are looking forward to reading romance novehitshit start with these cute novellas. ... HAPPY READING AND MUCH LOVE 🤍
His Bride by Alaa Lafir is a sweet short story about an arranged marriage. I have never read anything by this author, so I was excited to explore their writing style.
The story follows Maria as she fights through her emotions about being arranged to wed Kai. She doesn’t know much about Kai, but what she does know, she isn’t too sure he is the one she wants to be with. He seems to be arrogant and used to the attention of women.
I think because the story was short, I didn’t have the opportunity to really explore Maria and her personality. I did not have much of a connection with her, or with Kai. I was frustrated with her family, but I didn’t want to give away too much because it would spoil the story. There was a lovely twist that made the story end in a HEA, which was pretty awesome. In all, it was a cute story.
Thank you to Alaa Lafir and Ciera Parr, the editor, for providing me with a digital copy of His Bride in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
ARC Review: As someone who rarely reads short stories or romances, this was very different from what I typically read. With that said, it’s an easy read that can be finished in about 15 minutes. It’s the story of Maria and Kai, two individuals who meet a week before their arranged marriage is to begin. My favorite part of the story was Maria’s internal conflict and ambivalence towards the marriage. Living in a place where arranged marriages are not the norm, I appreciated the insight into that experience. On the other hand, I think the story would’ve benefitted from being a little bit longer as it would’ve allowed the author to flesh out the characters more and provided a better build up to the twist.
I received this eARC in exchange for an honest review.
His Bride is a sweet little novella about Maria, a young woman who is due to be married off to a man she doesn’t know. Kai Davidson is tall, handsome, arrogant, and oddly familiar. What Maria comes to know will change her views on the marriage, and the man.
This was a sweet, short little read that I honestly really enjoyed. The writing is not a style I typically choose, however; the story moved along at a nice pace, and the sweet little twist was well worth it. I hope to read others in this series.
this is a great short story and took about 30 minutes to read i definitely think this book has great potential for more and the writing and style are great. i wish it was a longer story and it was kind of predictable after the first 3 chapters. i definitely think chapter 1 and 2 could be merged into a single chapter. i enjoyed how easy this book was to read and how fast paced this was i enjoyed hearing maria’s thought but wished i could hear kai’s as well i know there is a 2nd book that i believe has his thought but i really haven’t looked at it i’m planning on reading it sometime this week
This book is about an arranged marriage and even though the characters object to the idea of the institution, this particular arrangement works out for them. It’s a cute and sweet short story in Kindle Unlimited, so if you have a 15 minutes to spare and you want a light read this is something you could enjoy.
Things I Enjoyed: ⚜️Swoon worthy crush ⚜️Sweet and shy woman daring to object ⚜️Quick and Easy to read
This was such a beautiful and cute story. I love how the first book from Maria Kane’s point of view. It is short story about arranged mariage and the different emotions and thoughts that the characters have in the events of the first meeting to mariage. This light hearted story that you can read in 15 to 20 minutes. It is really well and beautifully written.
I am excited to read the second story from her groom, Kai Davidson’s, point of view.
A very cute and short story. It has a little twist which I genuinely enjoyed and I actually wanted more when I finished reading. Very well written with a fast flow. Love it❤️
This was a cute fast read. I really wish it was a bit longer I wanted to know more about the characters. I wanted to fall in love with them and be happy for them.

A short story about a contract marriage and their journey of understanding each other. There is an unexpected twist at the end which will change the entire episode to a different level.
This was a sweet novella from the perspective of a young women who was promised in marriage by her parents before they died. The story takes a cute twist as the couple realizes they know each other. The author does a nice job of showing the emotions that would run through someone’s mind when they are to be a part of an arranged marriage. It was easy to read and had enough information in the short length for the story to still come together. The character of Maria is easy to like. I gave this short story three stars because there were several either typos or sentences that were missed in proofing where the sentence structure just was wrong/didn’t make sense. Also in the short length of the story it was hard to get a picture of the setting to really connect. Over all I enjoyed this short story and look forward to seeing the grooms perspective!
A sweet little love story that can be read in an afternoon.
Our MC was feisty and gave our love interest a bit of work to do to win her heart. It's a sweet romance and this is the brides perspective on the love story.
I really enjoyed the banter between the two and the teasing, it was a fun short story to read and I read it quickly.
I do think this would benefit from an editor that has English as their first language, as there were lots of things written that felt like literal translations and affected the flow.
I look forward to reading the Grooms perspective and more from this author!
although I liked the story, I don't think such short love stories are for me. This was a nice and cute read and could be a nice getaway after reading some hard, emotionally wrecking books or big fantasy or thriller books, and I do recommend it to you if you like reading short romance stories.
