PR Manager Sofia Alvaro knew what she was getting into when she agreed to take on her first love as a new client. Determined to be professional, she convinces herself her feelings for rock star Carlos Hernandez are mere remnants of a teenage crush. But when Carlos makes it clear he has never forgotten her, Sofia finds it harder and harder to resist the seductive Spaniard. Their reunion is passionate and fiery, but will a dark secret from Carlos's past tear them apart and break Sofia's heart all over again?
Okay so the only reason I didn’t give it a 5 star is only because it’s so hard for me to read in third person. My brain isn’t wired that way lol but putting that to the side , this book was really amazing. The fmc was strong and smart, she didn’t let him walk all over her when she first seen him, as much as she wanted to fall back into old habits. He did break her heart after all . But then again they were still so young and had their whole lives ahead of them. So I don’t really fault him. He could have stayed in touch and been in her life as a friend, but everything happens for a reason, which made them the amazing characters they became. I honestly loved him lol I felt bad after leading what his dad did , made sense why he just moved on and created his life he wanted. But the end results were amazing and I fell in love with both of them. Such a good book.
Loved this story! Sofia & Carlos relationship made me feel connected in a way except the pregnancy part. The detailing & scenery about the different locations/lifestyles were perfect! I’ve personally never gone to Tulum but have heard amazing things about it. The journey/progress of their relationship was a lot so surreal as how some relationships truly are. Like the saying, “If you let it go & it comes back to you. It was always meant for you & if it doesn’t it never was.” Although I found some grammatical errors I still enjoyed every bit of it!
The writing was good And the characters were compelling. I do, however, think that this book is mis-categorized In erotica. I do not think the love scenes are detailed or explicit enough to be considered erotica. That did not detract from my enjoyment of the story. This story has more substance than most of the erotica that I have read.
This is a fast pace romance written in third person. It’s a very light and easy read and you really get involved with MFC and MMC. At times I felt that MFC was not the most intelligent or maybe she was ignorant to what could have happened between mysterious girl and MMC which annoyed me slightly, but I’ was pleased by turn of events.
This book was a quick sweet romance. I'd classify the bedroom scenes as level one spicy compared to the dark erotica I usually read. You'll become involved enough to want to shake some sense into the FMC and MMC.
This was cute and quick love story with a few spicy scenes. While 3rd person is definitely not my favorite, I enjoyed the story. I do wish some things were more fleshed out. But overall a nice quick read.
Another wonderful book by RD Baker! I loved this book! I enjoyed seeing the characters grow and develop. I can't wait to read more and support RD in all things!
I bought this book having become a huge fan of RD Baker's Shadow Drawn series and A Realm of Dark Fury, and I was curious to see some of her first books.
I started this book with the expectation of it simply being full of smut (which is fine), but was pleased to discover a genuinely touching story about a young love that went awry, only to come back around once more. Sofia's character was likeable from the start and an example of a strong woman, and Carlos, although I was sceptical at first, came through and I found myself smiling at the end of the book.
Whilst this is not RD Baker's finest works, it shows just how far she has come in recent times, and should be a testament to how she has grown as a writer and storyteller. I recommend this book to all RD Baker fans, and anyone who enjoys a quick romantic read, as it was greatly enjoyable.
