Four years after our graduation, four years after leaving Stoneview and all our pain behind…fate decides 'happily ever after' might not have been for us after all.
It’s New Year’s Eve, and tonight we’re all reuniting in Stoneview to celebrate with our closest friends. Jake says I should use the occasion to forget about med school rejection letters and let go of my stress for the night.
I would if only I didn’t have fear and guilt weighing so heavily on my mind.
I can’t forget about being alone with my professor in his office. I can’t just ignore what happened and lie to my boyfriend’s face.
What if Jake finds out?
He’s still the same man he used to be.
Possessive.
Dark.
Deadly.
One Last Kiss is a 19k-word dark romance novella in the world of Stoneview. It contains scenes that some readers may find triggering. This novella comes after the Stoneview Stories Trilogy and is directly linked to it. It isn't possible to read it without having read the Stoneview Stories. This novella comes after Rose's Duet. It isn't compulsory to read it but the novella contains spoilers from the duet.
Lola King is a dark, steamy romance author who loves giving happy ever after’s to antiheroes. She writes about flawed and deeply broken characters and the women who bring them down to their knees. Her books are sometimes cute, sometimes angsty, but always sexy! Lola lives in London and if she isn’t writing, she is most likely keeping her mind busy putting together a play or making music.

still following the suggested reading order for her universe… let’s hope i don’t despise jake and jamie in this! i mean how bad can it get in a novella 🫣
it was just a little novella of jamie and jake and the way that man loves jamie IS INSANE AND I MISSED THEM AAA it wasn't that amazing it's just short and nice to read from their povs again so i loved it just not you know obsessed it was fun, didn't like that professor but he got what he deserved it so im glad and jamie and jake own my heart, they might not be my top fave from by lola king but definitely second or up there too so i enjoyed a lot reading this little novella about them ehehe
I’m such a sucker for Jake and Jamie this was like a reward seeing them so happy together and in love Jake being crazy for Jamie and hurting Olson was everything Also they are still so hawt and the spice was amazing
“Exactly twenty-two years ago, fate put an angel on this earth, and I believe she was meant for me. I truly believe I was meant to go through all the hardships life put me through, and you through yours, so that we could cross paths and find happiness, repentance, and respite in each other. The day I realized I was in love with you, I started breathing for the first time. There isn’t one day I will spend without you. There isn’t one second of one minute I will not love you. Be mine forever, and I will protect you from everything. I will pick you up when you’re down and help you fly when you wish to reach higher. Be my wife, Angel, and I promise the world will be ours”
I love them so much!! Jake my man is the best!! Him proposing at 7:31 am because it’s the time Jamie was born ahhh so sweet I am melting Was so fun meeting all the friends once again!
This novella....got me almost throwing my iPad to the ground yelling!!!! I was so angry reading it that I almost didn't finish it lol.
Jamie and Jake are moved in together, living what seems to be a happy life. Well as happy as they can be since Jamie is getting rejected by every medical school she applies to, and she just doesn't understand why. All the long hours with her professor and in the library and nothing seems to help. So, what happens when she gets a text from her professor to come to his office because he has a letter waiting for her from one of her schools? Professor Olson decides he wants to play a dangerous game with her in order for her to get into the school she wants to, which he can make happen for a price.
Sadly for him, after Jamie and Jake head back to Stoneview to be with friends for New Years and her birthday, they all seem to notice something is off with dear sweet Jamie. After seeing messages from said professor in Jamies phone, Jake decides its time to take action himself with the help of his longtime friends and sister. Read to find out how this story ends.
This is not a standalone novella. I would recommend reading the Stoneview series & Rose’s Duet as there are potential spoilers.
This is short & sweet. I love Jake and that will never change. I adored him more in this 🤍 he just gets better for me.
This follows their life 4 years on when Jamie is applying for colleges to med school. Her professor has something up his sleeve & Jamie falls into the trap, but how is she supposed to get out without Jake going pyscho killer?Ha, my favourite side to Jake 😏. A love of mine is when he calms you;
One thing I will mention is sometimes Jamie is too good for my liking 😂 she never wants to get anyone into trouble..bless her! You got to put yourself first.
Book title: One Last Kiss Author: Lola King Book Series: Stoneview Series Genre: Romance, drama Tropes: Alpha male, revenge, blackmail, spice
Rating: 5/5 Spice: 5/5 Angst: 3/5
Plot: Jake and Jaime are back in a Stoneview Series Novella. This novella takes us on one last journey with the couple. Reuniting us with them and the other main characters of Stoneview.
Thoughts: I am obsessed with Jake and have been since reading the stoneview series. This reunion with the gang was perfect. And the spice was, ohhhhh, chef's kiss. Lola brings us another brilliant read. She's a magician with her words and her spice, bhahaha.
This was a cute novella that gave me a reminder of the person that Jake is. I loved seeing Jamie and him together, seeing him jump to conclusions, then watching as he set things right. The ending was cute and I was glad to see this stage of their lives. The two of them will always be special to me and I will forever love Jake and Jamie.
A quick read with so much packed into it! I love Jake and Jamie so much. Jake yet again proved to us that he is the obsessive possessive she’s mine touch her and I’ll end you kind of book boyfriend we all love! The perfect little spicy novella! 🌶🌶🌶/5
3.5* why was this kind of good? I love rose so much. And this book actually made me laugh, which was surprising. It was still absolutely insane, but a good ending. I’ll say.
Thoughts: This was truly everything I want in an epilogue novella. It felt like a good mix of a hint of plot, but also just being able to see our favorites happy! I devoured in one sitting.
I love Jake and Jamie so much and this whole world.
I do highly recommend reading this after Rose's duet as well, as there are spoilers for her story. But if you loved Jake and Jamie, definitely worth the read in my opinion!
Even a novella in this series gives me all the emotions! I just love this found family so much and the bond Jamie and Jake have with each other. Jake and his words at the end had me absolutely swooning. And the relationship between Rose and Jamie. I loved it so much. Lola King somehow packs so much heart, emotion, and love into even the shortest stories in this world, and I’m obsessed.
Finished my Lola king reading marathon… what a journey. Obsessed with every series and every couple. Let’s see how long it takes for me to give in and reread them (in the proper order this time lol)
Quick little novela. If it’s not dramatic it’s not Jake and Jaime. But a perfect way to end their love story, although I’m sure we’ll read more about them on her later books.
Good quick read & I love Jaimie and Jake but this kinda seemed pointless and could’ve just been added in their trilogy as bonus content if I’m being honest
Updating my review because the more I think about it the more I know that anything Lola King writes about these two will never be enough for me which is why I only gave it 4 stars because it was TOO SHORT. BUT who am I kidding? 10/10 any day for my favorite couple. Perfect.
If you enjoy slice of life, you’re going to love this! After the emotional rollercoaster that King put us through, this novella is such a sweet treat. We get a glimpse into the future of Jake and Jamie, as well as see even more of what’s in store for them.
My only gripe is that Jamie acted pretty out of character during parts of this story. Without giving too much away, Jamie is sexually blackmailed by one of her professors. She recognizes that Jake is going to be furious with what’s going on, but rather than confide in him, or just stand up to the professor, she goes along with it? For having been with Jake for a handful of years, I would have at least expected Jamie to have more of a backbone, or at the very least have confidence in her boyfriend to be able to handle it herself. I couldn’t help but feel disappointed in her for giving into the pressure.
Nonetheless, I still enjoyed seeing these characters grown up and learning about what they got up to!
Ugh this one got me emotional just because I knew it was the end of Jamie and Jake's story. Was their story toxic and pretty messed up at times? Yes, but I honestly fell in love with these two characters together and am so proud to see where they ended up. I love Jamie I really do but she is too kind for her own good. This novella was a cute idea and I enjoyed Jake reminding her that there is no one else for her and his dominate side. Tbh, I would die for a Jake in my life. Also this short novella is sooo spicy. Jamie is imo one of the luckiest women to be with Jake because the dude is relentless in and out of the bedroom and I loved it. Their ending made me so happy and Jamie truly changed Jake for the better. I really loved the character development for both of them like they both came such a long way you wouldn't even believe it comparing the beginning to how it ended. I loved this series and am really going to miss Jake and Jamie!
This was darkish and kinky and filled with broken functioning people. And it was crazy how invested I was after that short dish. It's still not my favorite trope but I enjoyed the way, all the small glimpses made me almost bend sideways to get a glimpse from around the corner. Four totally unhinged characters and their plus one to plus four. A threat from the forbidden department. Blackmailing and revenge. It hits a lot of triggers for sensitive reader. I totally enjoyed this short escape and want t on know more about them. Even I I won't reach a longer book from this plate right now. But still I admire thd art of storytelling and loved to include it on my mix.
Okay updating unfortunately THIS is my lowest LK rating. (She’s still one of my favs so I’ll forgive) but wth was this? Are we gonna gloss over the fact that after 4-5 years Jake is STILL abusive asf and doesn’t trust her? As if he was Mr. Loyal himself… the way he talks to her and him never apologizing is just the biggest ickkk. and Jamie? You’d think she’d evolve and become smarter and grow a backbone, but welp my bad. The plot also didn’t make any sense, it was obvious, through the messages that he was blackmailing her. Also Jake saying he didn’t kill Olson but stabbed him and cut off his d*ck and sent him home that way? Yea he’ll forsureee survive that. Definitely my least favorite couple in the LK verse. 🥲
