What a great ending to what has been a wonderful, charged series. Though Jesse is not my favourite character, she deserves her HEA.
What I'm really excited for now is the next book which will center around Victoria. I knew she isn't the crazy bitch that people thought she is! I stan misunderstood #queenBee and I love that we get to see a different side of her in this one.
I hope we still get to see Gia and Dravin/Draven in the next (few?) standalone in the series. I don't think their story is over. It certainly doesn't feel that way, and I'd be disappointed if their story is left hanging without proper HEA.
This is book three in The Prey series and wraps up Jess and Reid's story. I have loved this series the guys have lots of secrets and are just a tad bit insane when it comes to the women that they love. Reid knows Jess does certain things to try to forgot something traumatic from her past. There isn't anything he wouldn't do to make her happy, even if it means unleashing his monster. Will Jess be able to accept all of Reid? I can't wait to read more books from this author because she just satisfies may dark side and I crave more!!
All I can say is…..holy crap. These two might be my favorite couple from the series. Reid is a misunderstood man. The twists of this book I did NOT see coming. I’m excited to see Veronica’s story. You grow to dislike her in the first few books because of what she’s done, but you find out at the very end and she doesn’t seem so bad. What would you do if the love of your life bought you everything so you stopped worrying? Reid….you might make it in my top 5
This book doesn't stand as a standalone. The characters and storyline continued to keep me intrigued with were the author was going to take me throughout this book. It starts off with the twin combo Darvin/Drivers and pregnant Gia trying to learn about the society while also trying to handle and figure out their emotions. Jess having to deal with Michael after everything he has done and is still doing. While at the same time trying to figure out her feelings for Reid. This was a great continuation of a dark and exciting romance series. Can't wait to read more by this author.
Absolutely devoured this book today. I loved Jess’ story and Reid and all the madness that happened!! Everyone deserves to be happy. And I’m glad to see the character arc for Veronica.
I am so invested in these characters and their stories. I laughed and cried at this one . Felt all the feelings . A book i got lost in. I love books that can do that!! A page turner and 5 star read.
Mehh… this series is like a dollar store knock off version of the LORDS series. I was super invested into Gia and the twins, and then it all just stops and we switch to Jess! I wanted more of the first story! But, nevertheless, Jess’s story was good and I’m glad with how things ended for her. The writing felt very childish. The phrase “I released a breath I didn’t know I was holding” or some version of that occurs almost every 5 pages. And then the phrase “F**k you… I plan on it” was grossly overused.
These are short and sweet… but I prefer my LORDS to these kids.
Super enjoyable and absolutely should be read in order! This brings a lot more into the mix but takes a rollercoaster of a deep dive more into Jess and Reid and the actions of the past and others that brought them here and I need more hopefully soon
The last in the trilogy of Drevin and Gia and Jess and Reid.
This is solely about Jess and Reid and Gia n Drevins story is very much cameo roles. It's a bit sad that the first two books were the main focus of Gia and there story gets finished within Jess story via paragraphs here and there. I think they at least deserve a whole book or a novella to close there story.
But onto Jess..... this poor girl goes through it. I understand why she sleeps with the boys as a way to cope and it hurt to read how she felt about herself, and the fact Valen and Reid re-enforce that feeling of not being worthy (unintentionally) was sad, but I'm glad Jess gets her happy ending with Reid.
Reid finally becomes the man she deserves and I have never read of a man buying a whole town for his girl 🥰🥰
Zero. Well he was unexpected new chracter, kinda guessed towards the end, got a bit murky with consent the first time he has sex with her, I didn't like that. But it works out in the end.
Valen........ sweet sex addict Valen actually likes her a lot, but knew her heart belongs to Reid n stood down. I hope he gets his happy ending.
Veronica.... I hated her in book 1 and 2 but completely loved her by the end. Everything she done is for a reason.
This book as a whole is batshit crazy, the men start out as very unlikable for a MASSIVE chunk of the books. Some of the twists are OTT. The spice is okay not the hottest thing I've ever read, there is issues with editing. The titles of POV are not correct it might say Reid POv but the chapter is actually Jess's, and some issues with sentences and punctuation but nothing that's too bad,
I know there more books in this series but 3 is enough for me.
“You’re beautiful, Jess. Has anyone told you that?” “Not the right people.”
YALL THIS IS PROBS MY FAVORITE OF THEM ALL…
So this book contains a few more POVS than the first ones. Which I love. I finally got more of Jess’s story. And OMG. Y'all I swear to god. I will never EVER forget about this book. I know I did not give it five stars. But it was close. Okay.
So lets start of with mentioning the beat scene in this book (spoiler‼️) so Jess grew up kinda poor. And didn’t live in the right neighborhood. So she couldn’t go to prom. (Also didn’t have money for a dress) and everyone in that town were and are dicks. However this freaking man organizes a prom for her at his hotel that he owns. Just so she can experience it. I need Reid right now (That was his name right???) Yes, I know he did some stupid shit. But it's okay he had good sides too. After all this is DARK romance.
I did not really understand the point of the Zero person. 🧍🏽♀️ like why? He just made me mad. He did kill Michael for her… I accept him because of that… Michael was annoying and a cock.
I love and loved Reid and Jess so much. Everything was just amazing. You cannot tell me otherwise.
Like in the other ones. I don't care about the writing in these. They are so addictive I don't even care about that. I just need more. I will be continuing the series, just not now. I'm so scared of getting into a reading slump again. Because I feel like if I continue more now I will eventually get bored of the story and characters… but we'll see.
Just read it. Please. I beg you. (Read trigger warnings first)

I loved how this story played out. Zero stole my heart with his mystery, I loved reading between the lines to figure out who he truly was.I would have loved to see more of his character but him and Reid have my heart.
The only downfall I found is I wish we would have seen the wedding between the twins and Gia.
I have very mixed emotions that Jess and Gia’s stories have come to an end. On the one hand I absolutely loved them and am so pleased to have seen them both get their HEA as I don’t think my heart could take much more hardship for either of them, especially Jess. On the other hand I want more!
We pick up after Lust and if you felt sorry for Jess then be prepared to have your heart ripped out, stamped on and then gently patted before being placed back in your chest. The amount of heartache poor Jess has had to go through not only dealing with a horrific assault by someone she thought she could trust but to have him continue to control her through threats against her mother when she is just trying to make a better life is heartbreaking. Throw on top of that the antihero Reid who you just love to hate and Valen and it’s a lot to deal with. When things are spiralling an unexpected hero steps forward in the form of the masked zero who claims to love Jess and want to protect her. Without spoiling, we find out more about Kenyan university where everything and everyone are not as they seem on the outside.
I kept changing my guesses as to who zero was and still didn’t get it right but once all is revealed it’s clear the answer was there all along. That’s the beauty of carmen’s writing.
I really cannot wait for more in this series which gets better with each book.
5⭐️ WOW WOW WOW this one is my favourite by a long shot, the easiest 5 stars I’ve ever given. This was amazing! Enemies to lovers (kinda) spreading over 2 books and it blossoming in the last 20% of the second book ughhh and add in the mystery aspect that was in there oh my god it was utter perfection. I absolutely love how carmen added in such a deeper topic of mental health in this one and how real and raw it felt. The mystery aspect of it spanning the whole of the book and having the best possible outcome made it an easy 5 stars. REID RIORDAN the man you are!!! Honestly i cant say much without spoiling it but fuck meee it doesn’t pan out how you think it will but its sooooo freaking good. As always carmen added the most delicious spice in there without it being overpowering and made it feel so real that it feels like these characters are real people and this is their real lives. If you’ve read the first 2 books and not sure whether your liking them please please please wait until you’ve read this one because its everything you want and more. The depth, the plot, the character development and deeper and harder topics in there just make the whole series. As always please check triggers because this one does have more heavier and deeper topics in it that people may find triggering but if you have no triggers then dive right in i promise you wont be disappointed.
Carmen Rosales has become one of my top favorite authors and her books just suck me right in every single time.
in Appetite we really learn more about Jess and what her story is about. All she wants is to have a normal life, get her mom out of their trailer she lives in and have a great career. But this University has all the elite people attending and everyone is pretty much spoken for but the ones who come in on a scholarship are considered prey and Jess happens to fall in that category.
She messes around with two of the boys but she has her eyes set on one only and that happens to be Reid. Reid's parents have his life planned out for him but he's not planning on following through with their wishes. He has fallen for Jess hard even though he hasn't been the best person to her. But somehow that's what has attracted Jess to him to begin with, his bad boy exterior and his demeanor.
But there is another person out there that is vying for her attention and Reid is up against someone else and he'll have to fight hard to win her heart.
I absolutely loved Reid and Jess. They fit together like a glove and I just couldn't get enough of them. I wish we could get more of them -- that's how much I love this couple!!
Another twist in this story and another I didn't see coming!! Well done Carmen, well done indeed. :D Loved it, seriously loved it.
The only reason I gave this a 4 star instead of a 5 was because, this was meant to be Gia and Jess final book, but the way I read it, this was a book for Jess. Don't get me wrong I did enjoy reading this story for Jess, although come on, how much does one person have to take so much bad luck. Really…
Any who, Zero was an amazing addition to this book. Had me guessing who he was and when it was revealed it totally blew me away! Wow, seriously wow. Freaking awesome!
It was great to read Jess and Reid but also Val as well. it was really nice to find out more about both guys. Really good depth to all of these characters. Even the secondary characters, the goodies and the baddies were really great additions.
I would have loved more POV from Val and Reid I have to say.
My only downer was we didn't really get enough of the twin's and Gia and a proper ending to their story from their points of views. Bit dirty I have say Carmen lol
Bring on book 4 and where this will take us.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is the 3rd and final book ending Jesse and Gia's story. There were a lot of moving parts throughout the book but everything was tied up. I kind of wished we got to see a epilogue or in book mention of another baby for Gia and the guys because im not over what happened in book 2. Jesse's story and what she had to endure was crushing so to see her not just be a awesome friend to Gia throughout all that craziness, but see her finally find love and happiness was awesome although im a bit bummed she didn't get her own menage ending. I really like Valen so hopefully we see him get his hea with a awesome girl. I had a feeling about Zeros identity and wasn't too surprised. I wasnt expecting the 180 reid did and how sweet and romantic he could be. But I was surprised about Veronica and the turn of events with her and how misunderstood she was. She definitely plays the villain role well, hopefully in her book we see her turn the tide on that and not only make up with Gia, and her guys and become better friends with Jesse and see valen and Reid be more open with her. Another great read by Ms Rosales, I have yet to come across anything I haven't loved. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily
OMG! I'm not sure how to put into words what I just read. This book was absolutely amazing. There were so many unexpected things revealed in this story that I wasn't sure what to believe. The twist thrown in the story regarding the school and its students was so shocking, and one I would have never guessed in a million years. Not only do we get to see how things work out for Dravin, Draven and Gia but we also get to see how things work out for Jess, Reid and Valen. The well-kept secret that Reid and Valen have been hiding from Jess is revealed and it definitely made me say oh crap. It's about to go down. Jess was hurt but I liked that even though she had her weak moments, she kept going. I was happy that she got her HEA but both she and her mom deserved it, and Michael got exactly what he deserved. I was surprised by Veronica's actions in this book, but it definitely left me wanting to read her standalone book coming out. I need it asap. I think that this is the perfect series for anyone looking for a dark and steamy read with mystery, suspense, twists and turns, betrayal, romance, love and more. I'm looking forward to reading a lot of books from this author.
Have you ever picked up a series / trilogy that had the ability to bone your mind in all the best ways ? To leave you utterly speechless, to keep you on the edge of your seat anticipating what will happen from one second to the next and then break your heart and so flawlessly it back together again . Well Carmen Rosales’s ( The prey. series ) did it all . You absolutely need to read Lust first so if you have yet to do that ( what are you waiting for run as fast as you can because this is one series you can not miss . Dark , raw gritty and emotional, secrets , angst , suspense, intrigue, heartbreaking and heartfelt , twists and turns, drama , witty banter , off the charts chemistry, tragedy, family , friendships, wonderfully written characters in Jess , Reid , Valen , Gia and Draven - all so captivating, so unique and so extremely multi layered . Truth is there just are not any perfect words to do this whole series justice . It’s truly exceptional , a emotional rollercoaster that’s unforgettable and unputdownable a few seconds ago
Appetite is book 3 in the Prey series by Carmen Rosales. This is a series that is dark and filled with spice, deception, betrayal, trauma, love, sacrifice, friendship, loss, exploration, manipulation. There are a lot of triggers, so please read the warnings before OR if you dont have any, then it is best to go in blind. It is will be a joyride that is full of twists, turns and dips that catches your breath and leaves you needing more.
𝙃𝙚𝙧𝙤/𝙃𝙚𝙧𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙚 = Draven Beckford and Gia. Reid, Valen and Jesse. 𝘾𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙛𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙧 = Noish 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙚 = No. This is the 3rd book in the 'Prey' series, must read books 1 & 2, prior to reading Appetite. Appetite picks up where book 2, Lust, ends. We are pulled more into Jess' relationship & back history.
Uhm… this felt somewhat rushed, like when I was told we were getting Gia and the twins’ story/ending WHERE WAS IT??? I’m so confused. The only thing we really got was Gia showing her engagement ring and then killing Warren. So disappointed in that aspect because I was most fond of their storyline mainly if anything only that.
I loved Reid, he was such a fun and interesting character to read about especially his “other side” (I.e Zero) I’m not gonna lie I did think she was going to end up with both Reid AND Valen but..oh well..
I also enjoyed Jess’ storyline but when she’d go back home there was some moment where I found very boring not just that but her character as a whole. It’s a such since the first two books were great and I really enjoyed them but this didn’t make it up there with the first two.
Will I continue the series? Yes, ONLY for Valen. (I’m hoping we get glimpses of Gia and the twins haha)
I also kinda was hoping for some sort of epilogue at least of the wedding, pregnancy etc but we didn’t get neither unfortunately)

The only thing I will say that I had a problem is getting confused at the start of who's POV I was reading like for example, chapter thirty seven it's actually Jesse's POV but says Reid and I was getting confused because it says "My hand itches to call Reid, but simultaneously, I want to speak to Z." I was confused but then figured who's POV it actually was. But other than that, I know we start off with Gia's story but honestly I think I enjoyed Jesse's story more. I already knew that Reid was Zero cause of the plague doctor stamp in Reid's POV. My favourite moments were when he made it in time for Jess not to have to take pictures alone and when he told her he would have taken her to prom and he threw a prom for her and for some of his hotel staff's teenagers who couldn't either. Man was Michael's de💀💀💀 more brutal than Warren's. All in all I am happy both Gia and Jesse can now live peacfully and got their happy ending. I will miss their stories but can't wait to read Veronica's story

Wow - this book was literally EVERYTHING. I just finished it and am still reeling from all the chaos and emotions this book forced me to live through. Appetite is the third book of the Prey series, and these books must be read in order as they are all connected and pick up right after the end of a cliffhanger.
Readers are given the opportunity to learn more about Jess and live her story through their lens. All she wants is to live without drama, take care of her mom, and survive. After everything the readers have been through in the previous books, Carmen Rosales does another crazy twist, ripping our hearts to shreds as we experience all the crap in this book. There are moments when my soul felt it was just gutted, while other times, my heart melted. I absolutely loved Reid in this story and felt a few butterflies.
If you're in the mood for a dark college romance with twists, turns, and jaw-dropping moments, this one is for you!
YESSSSssss OMG love this series. Had me wrapped up within its dark twists, secrets, and suspense. Quite the thrilling read.
Picks right up at the end of the second book, Lust.... adding in Jess, Gia's best friend, as she is plagued by her haunting past. While the twins, Draven and Dravin, and Gia are going through their own storyline, this focuses more into Jess, Reid, and Valen. Jess has stumbled into the politics within those of The Consortium... The Order... and Zero...
Zero, Zero, Zero... quiet the swoonworthy poet. Loved their intertwined lives and fate ❤️ 💕
Most chapters are Jesse's POV, very few in comparison are from the others. Her life, was powerfully vulnerable and emotionally raw.
Quick read overall with a lot happening and it also starts to evolve into Veronica 💯🫢😳💋
I think I have a new favorite author, I have read all three books in this series in like three days. They are Soo good. This is the third book and it does not disappoint. I love how the story continues for all of them in each book and you are not left hanging. I love Gia and Jesse and at times I want to kick the guys butt when they act up, with that said I love Zero and wish he was in the book more. I had a feeling of who he was and I'm so glad I was right. Now Veronica.. .. I know most of you are like I don't like that crazy girl, but for some reason I feel there is way more to her, and for some reason I like her.. I hope in the next book her story will come out . I just have this feeling that she is more then what people think kinda like Jess. With all of that I love this series and want more..
Holy….sh*t… what a phenomenal roller coaster this series was! I ignored all responsibilities once I picked up this book. I read the first three books in the series within two days and I am speechless! This is honestly one of my all time favorite dark college/secret society romance series ever! I love that fact that is was multiple pov, I loved that it followed both Gia and Jess stories and getting their HEA. Not to mention all of the sudden twists and curveball’s thrown out throughout the series. Caught me off guard (in a great way) so many times. I wish I could rate this higher than 5 stars because it deserves it! The plot/storyline, character and relationships build up, the mystery and suspense. Let’s not forget the spice… woah 🥵😮💨 If you haven’t read this series yet, do yourself a favor and dive in. You won’t be disappointed! *Please check trigger warnings*
