Caprioni Queen #3

Revenge & Truth

Rate this book
Revenge.

It’s the only thing on my mind other than getting Luca out of jail. After getting hit with betrayal, lies, and loss I’ve bloodied my hands and crowned myself the queen of the Caprioni Family. I may sit on the throne, but it doesn't mean matters within the Family have gotten better.

The writing is on the wall and I’m damn tired of being the mouse in this game the founding families are playing. Allies are appearing to help expose the truth of what’s really going on behind the scenes, exposing those who thought they could hide from me.

With the truth in hand, it's time for the first stage of my revenge and clean up the mess on my turf. Once I’m through taking out the trash all that’s left is to let the big boys know there’s a new queen in town.

Audio: 4 stars for both Heather Firth and Wen Ross

Book: 4-4.5 stars

I am flying through these books, I am loving these characters!

This series would have “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me” by Taylor Swift as the theme song haha

Layers and layers. Book 3 of the Caprioni Queen is an excellent addition to the series. There are so many layers to the story. The intrigue, action and steam increase. Astin is a complex character who is beginning to show some vulnerability to her men. The men are all different and completely hers. Atticus is still my favourite character. If you enjoy mafia stories with plenty of danger, then this series is for you.

Oof. What a very satisfying cliffhanger.
A sentence I’ve never uttered, and am sure to never repeat.
This was just such a good book.
I can’t wait to see how it all comes together in the end in the fourth book.

Yesss girl 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Astin is starting to rightfully cement her place as the Caprioni leader and make sure that anyone that questions her or her leadership is going to see the underneath of her high heeled shoes 💪🏻👠
And she’s definitely got the enemies piling it up and piling it on throughout this one! Although it appears that there may be a larger puppet master at play 😬
Things that have been hinted at previously start to come to light and click together in this book so you start to see that wider web of who’s out for the Queen, especially as the attacks start to come for those she cares about 😳😳 and boy does she make them regret it! ☠️
Her harem of men also begins to settle and become more secure in this third book, now that they’ve realised communication is the key 🤦🏼‍♀️ they still drive her up the wall with their possessive and protective sides but it starts to gel! 🥰
Thankfully she also has a new bestie (love Ms Foxxxx) and the potential new ally 😄😄 really hope they get a story!
Going to be interesting to see how this all concludes in the final book ☺️

Holy wow! What a book! What an incredible continuation to a fantastic series! I am always on pins and needles for Elizabeth Knight’s books, and this one happens to be one of my favorites!

Astin! Astin! Astin! This bad ass queen continues to become more confident in her position as the boss. She’s not afraid to kick ass and take names while reminding her enemies of who she is, and why you shouldn’t mess with her. And her men? Oh, her men, they are falling right into place at her side! I love the dynamics with all of her guys individually. They’re also starting to fall into place and be more comfortable with each other, and I enjoy seeing that the most! This series keeps getting better and better with each book, and I am on the edge of my seat, waiting to see what’s next. This happens to be one of my favorite series by Elizabeth Knight.

The twist. The turns. The truth revealed. This book has it all, Definitely give this to Read if you haven’t already, trust me, you won’t regret it!

Revenge and Truth is the third book in Elizabeth Knight’s Caprioni Queen series. Book three picks up where book two left off. Luca was arrested. Accused of murdering that troublesome mayor. Chaos continues to brew within and without the family, and someone is gunning for Astin. But this queen isn’t taking any prisoners, and when the truth comes out – well, you can bet that revenge will be sure to follow.
Astin continues to have a lot on her plate and you just can’t help wondering...when is she going to catch a break? Probably never, but she’s running the family business now and these idiots think that she can be pushed around...still. You’d think that after all the things she’s done to this point they’d get a clue. No? Huh. Okay. LOL! This series continues to keep me gripped to the pages. Astin is probably one of my favorite FMC. She kicks so much butt and takes no prisoners. I love it. It’s nice to see the relationships working out between her and all her men. It’s a good thing for her, and it makes me happy...and a touch jealous. LOL!
This ending will leave you eager for the final book in this series. Things have been heating up from book one, but this book promises you fireworks in the final one. I can’t wait.

This was quite the rollercoaster, unexpected revelations, surprising allies and some emotional turmoil are some of the fabulous elements that were incorporated in this third book.

Astin has really taken the reigns of the Caprioni empire and alongside the day to day business matters, the FMC finds the time to devote her attention on to her personal life as well. The relationships are developing beautifully and I am glad that the main protagonist took her time prior to diving into exploring her feelings.
Despite the battles won, the war is still in full swing and I am so curious to see what shall happen as Astin and the guys face the five original families.

When I started the series I did not check whether the series was complete, so when I realised my negligence somewhere around the middle of this third book, I was a bit worried how long will it be until the fourth book comes out as I am addicted to this story and my curiosity will keep bugging me. So glad that the next book will be released in November, not long to go until then s splendid mafia story continues.

THE CLIFFHANGER.

Okay so I feel like Astin really comes into her own in this one. She solidified herself with all of her men and really steps up as head of the mafia family. The action kept me intrigued and all the galas and undercover had me continuously diving back into the book. I loved how much Astin and her men really grew in this one with each other AND independently and Astins soft sport for Atty is my favorite part of the series. The spicy scenes were perfection and had me both giggling and feeling all types of ways at once.
The end gets you excited for the next book and the conclusion.

I'm always excited about a new book from Liz, she's one of my favorite authors but I've really been looking forward to a new Caprioni Queen book and Liz didn't disappoint. Revenge and Truth was freaking glorious, I refused to put it down.

Astin is still the badass that I know and love but after going through the last few months stuff is starting to get to her, in both good and bad ways. She's showing a more vulnerable side to the guys but the pressure is adding to her anxiety. The stress is piling on but she isn't letting that stop her, no she's still in the thick of it, leading her people putting together the clues her enemies leave behind. Soon they will all know to fear the Queen.

Luca opened the door so it's open season on Astin. The guys are stepping up their game, surprise dates, sleepovers, movie nights, and morning cuddles are just some of the bonding moments. Astin and the guys are getting closer, defining their relationship, and ready to see where things go.

Ryker is finally out of the doghouse, sure there is stuff to work on but they're in a better place now. Things with Atticus "Atty" are heating up and surprising me in more ways than one. For Astin, Atticus is leaving his comfort zone and experiencing new things. The man is a treasure, I absolutely adore him. As for Liu and Jace, they are getting in there. Luca was locked up in this one, and Braxton has finally found what he's been looking for now that he and Astin have set the parameters for their relationship. Astin is finally opening up to each of them, knowing she isn't alone anymore and the guys are head over hills.

This was a revenge tour. Turns out deception has been the name of the game for a while now, Astin and the guys uncover numerous plots to ruin the Caprioni name. Astin actually made a friend that's a girl! Ivy Fox is just as formidable as Astin but in a totally different way. The two work wonderfully together, Ivy is a badass, I live a woman in power and Ivy exudes that just like Astin, the two make quite the pair. With the help of Ivy and an unexpected ally Astin uses her devious mind to come up with something grand.

Holy crap! Revenge and Truth was amazing! That ending was everything my girl Astin went avenging Angel or Megamind, I haven't decided which one but with thiefs, break-ins, costumes, galas, and more what else could I call it but genius. Who said revenge is best served cold? It's served best with red hot fury and Astin delivered. I can't wait to see how it all ends in Love and Power.

This book is my favorite so far in this series. It finally seems like we are catching up instead of always feeling one or several steps behind Harvey, which makes sense now that we know things go way higher than just an opposing leader taking what isn't his and interfering with business. Seems like everyone who is causing issues is connected in some way, making each problem worse than they previously thought. Despite discovering new info, Astin seems to have better control in this book, in her job as the head of the family, in her relationships, and with her darkness. Although more information is being brought to light, having more of it makes Astin truly shine and be able to put the pieces together to come up with plans and even be willing to accept help from others.

The relationships in this book, both friendship and romance, are so good! I love that she is getting a new girl bestie when she has never had something like that before. She's been surrounded by testosterone in a man run position and needs that female influence. As for the guys, even things start to feel settled with them in this book. There's more heat and sweet moments as well as some forgiveness or at least some leeway for past decisions. All the guys are so devoted to Astin and clearly care about her, even with her darkness. Vows and intentions are made in this book whereas before attraction was obvious but nothing was set in stone relationship wise. It was nice to see the guys prove to Astin that they were in this for the long haul. Atty is still my favorite with his bluntness and honesty. His and Astin's relationship is so different but so sincere and will probably be the one with the least amount of issues since they are so up front with each other asking questions and explaining things in a clear way.

The cliffhanger at the end was such a mic drop. I absolutely cannot wait for the next book in this series to see how Astin plans on destroying those who are trying to destroy her family. I think they severely underestimated her, her allies, and her darkness. It's going to be so satisfying seeing them scrambling for a change.

"If someone wants to fuck around and find out what messing with me is like, then by all means, give it your best shot."

Astin is back and she is ready to act on the people against the Caprioni name! This book continues just like the rest of the series with the exception of we finally get the STEAM we have been craving! Thank youuuu. We take off right where book two left us where Luca is arrested, and it seems like their list of enemies is getting bigger by the day.

When Astin discovers who is behind it all, annihilation is the only answer to deal with them. 3 of the 5 found families are out for blood and Astin and her men are prepared to meet them at every turn! What I truly love most about Astin is that she feels lucky to have the guys, Ryker, Luca, Liu, Braxton, Jace, Atticus and Hound by her side, BUT she is 100% capable of taking care of things on her own and I can just swoon over her!!! lol.

Heaven help the person who dared to take any of them from me because I'd finally become the monster this world feared lived inside of me."

This book captivates your attention like no other and you can't stop turning the pages! The enemies are stacking up and the threats are real. When Astin and the guys start their plot for revenge, no one is safe, and we even get to see a cameo of Luna Selene and she does not disappoint. We are introduced to new characters I quickly want to know more about (Ivy!!) And an unforeseen alliance comes into play! When Astin cleans house locally, their doom is consuming and I applause her choice of their demise.

Now the founding families are next. Will Astin and her guys be prepared for the war that they are up against? When all is said and over, who will reign, and will everything be as it is meant? I can't wait to find out in the next book!!!

*Overall 5/5
*Heat? 5/5
*Fast Burn
*MMFMMMMM
*Ends on evil laughter cliffhanger

3⭐️2🌶️

This was a little more repetitive than I would’ve liked but still good.

This series being developed in really small periods of time makes any development or growth in the characters seem rushed so I wasn’t a fan of that.

I felt the plot got stuck and the problems were just being drawn out but with the time frame it’s also understandable I guess.

Tbh the harem felt a little forced and all over the place.
For example, the fact that a MMC was in jail for the whole book and I forgot about him most of the time tells me that this harem is not exactly well balanced with its members.
I definitely forgot or mixed Jace and Luca and other characters just took the back burner in the relationship.

Although there was enough information and awareness of this type of relationship and there was clear communication between the characters I think we need more time and development with the characters so see any impact in the dynamic.

There was also a not so small list of inconsistencies which doesn’t really affect the plot or characters but are annoying nonetheless.
For example the need of a tester because of the possibility of food poisoning in the house but going to a restaurant without care, the lack of bodyguards at the fundraiser, the mention of Mathias dead out of the blue, the background of Hound and the piercings some characters have, to mention some.

I think I was more critical than usual with this one because I loved the first book and I think I just raised a little too much my expectations.

"Revenge & Truth is the third (and NOT last!) book in the "Caprioni Queen" series. It provides the perfect mix between plot, relationship development and spice and I enjoyed it from start to finish! The third book in a longer series is always touch and go for me, knowing I sometimes loose interest in the characters or the story by then, but that never happened with this one. Some new side characters even managed to get me more invested than I expected, and I'm hoping to see more from them in the future!

But back to Astin and her seven mates; I really loved the attention for relationship development in this third book. With all the action in the first two books, and a big harem, it was really needed to get a better feel of the characters and their connection to Astin. Some of the kinks in this book are fascinating, and while I'm not a big fan of books where the fmc is a Domme, it seems I do enjoy it when she's a switch... You learn something new every day ;-). It is very hard to pick out favorites in this series, but I fell head over heels for Atticus from the start and that feeling hasn't changed at all. But the longer this series takes, more men seem to carve out a place in my heart somewhere.

So yeah: this third book was truly great, and I can't wait to find out what will happen in the final book of Astin's story!

I voluntarily REVIEWED "REVENGE & TRUTH"
WOW!!! What an intense intriguing, riviting, action packed rollercoaster ride, plenty of scorching hot scenes, angst, tempers, twists that has you glued to your seat till finished a page turner for sure.
Astin is a force to be reckoned with & alter ego Darkness they learn to work together her men help when she goes off the rails, showing her vulnerable side & her learning to trust each of her men all with such different personalities they all give her something she needs my & absolute favorite one is Atticus.
Astin will anything to protect the people she cares for she can be very scary when warranted but her men love her for it this story is so very different with a woman Queen of Calrioni Family there are Five Founding Families & some aren't happy how powerful she is.
I definitely recommend to get this phenominally well written intense Mafia Romance & I love the connection between Astin Caprioni & Ivy Foxx two fierce don't mess with me attitude women becoming BF's.
I'm so looking forward to next book with that shocking cliffhanger "LOVE & POWER" also hope to get more on Ivy Foxxx & Domenico De Santis they have history.
EXCELLENT DARK TWISTED MAFIA ROMANCE🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

All the patience finally pays off! If you’ve been waiting for the spice this book is for you. Revenge & Truth is a great mix of plot, relationship progression and spice. I was hooked from page one and I couldn’t put it down.

I adore Aston’s growth over the course of these three books. She really comes into her own. She really steps up as head of the family, comes to an accord with Darkness and was able to be vulnerable and open with her men to start letting them in. I loved how much Astin and her men really grew in this one with each other and independently. Astin’s relationship with Atty is so pure, but oh boy does the boy have skills. I also adore Liu, the way their relationship is developing, I’m excited to follow their progress. As always, the spicy scenes were perfection.

The enemies are stacking up and the threats are real. When Astin and the guys start their plot for revenge, no one is safe, and Luna Selene come out to play. We are introduced to new characters I quickly want to know more about - I hope Ivy gets an HEA with an harem of her own! And an unforeseen alliance comes into play!

With everything coming to a head, I can’t wait for Astin and her crew to take the fight to the old country and prove that a woman can absolutely run a mafia family!

As book 3 of the story of the Caprioni family, Astin is dealing with the death of her father and Gunner, her being shot along with Luca being charged with the murder of the mayor and hauled away to Ashgate Prison. Learning that 3 of the founding families, Accardi, De Santis and Leoni were making plans to annihilate the Caprioni family. Being boss of the Caprioni Enterprises, has her dealing with straightening and resolving the business problems to show that she can run the Caprioni Enterprises and she should not be taken lightly. Astin is finding that she needs the 7 men (Boykov, Lui, Ryker, Hound, Luca, Atticus, and Braxton) her father has picked to be her lieutenants. As Astin is dealing out the crime family justice and she is finding it odd to be able to communicate with her other personality “Darkness”. Maybe she should seek the counselor her father recommend maybe she could be whole. Questions like who is the White Knight, a cop who was transferred to Springmount and the Judge that seems to hate her family. How is she going to get Luca off the trumped up murder charges? These questions and how to keep the family is safe will keep you riveted to the book, to find out the answer and see the strategies Astin uses to solve her problems you will not want to put down the book.

I really enjoyed the first 2 books in this series, so I had high hopes for book number 3. Unfortunately that was to much of a hope. My main problem isn't even with the plot but the inconsistency in the story itself is what is making me rate this on the lower scale of 2.5 stars rounded to 3. The first inconsistency I saw was the fmc saying she killed Mathias in book 2 but we were never told that, so I kinda let that one slide because maybe he'll come back or something after Dr holden fixes him to try and ruin her. But then the author seemed to have forgotten that 2 of the other guys had piercing down under but then the fmc is wondering how hounds might feel.... and the third inconsistency i spotted is how the author Said Braxton found hound to work for her father, but in the first part he was introduced as being hacker they didn't even know but by name. Like I see how maybe one slight detail can slide past an author but that many can bring someone like myself out the story and make me feel as though the author lost sight of their own story. Honestly it's like whoever wrote book one and about 3/4 of book 2 was a completely different author than the one who has written this one. I'm not saying this isn't a good series (so far) it's just not my favorite either.

Every time, in the space between releases, I forget just how stinking amazing this story is. I wasn’t sure I was in the mood for this book, so I postponed cracking it open. But then, within paragraphs of the title page, I was hooked and wasn’t setting it down for anything. I grew up in an era that popularized mafia fiction. And while my youth delighted in such light and fluffy fare as “Married to the Mob” and “Oscar”, I have come to appreciate the power of the darker, grittier offerings on our collective consciousness. I feel like this series asks: what would happen if the most iconic mobsters of our time had been played by Charlize Theron or Scarlett Johansson, or even Austin’s own favorite: Milla Jovovich, instead of Al Pacino or Robert De Niro? Austin the answer to that question. She is undoubtably the head of her family, inspiring love and fierce loyalty from her people and stark terror in their enemies. Now, knowing the discoveries this book has gifted us, I can’t wait to see the Caprioni Queen rain the fires of heaven down on those foolish enough to believe they could stand in her way.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author.

This series is so intriguing. I love that we have a female boss, you don't see that often. The story is well written and keeps your attention throughout the whole series. I simply can't put these books down and this latest installment is no different.

Astin and the guys are uncovering lots of truths and learning who is truly behind the things that are happening. Things aren't as simple as they seem. Luca was not really present in this book because he was sitting in prison, while everyone tried to get him out. His presence was very missed, but I understand why. The guys all start getting closer to Astin as everything is spinning out of control. Astin is having to truly learn how to control "Darkness" and not let it control her. While also dealing with all of the emotions of everything that has happened and is happening. She starts letting just the guys see her vulnerable, which is a big step for her. Atty is the sweetest thing and I am really looking forward to more time with him. I can't wait to see what happens next. This is going to get messy!!

📝Summary & Overall Review:

Almost DNF at 50% like the story was stuck, boring and all over the place. I thought the other uncle, she told the dr to patch him up but looks like he dead. The stepmom was working with the enemy but knew where she was and didn't do anything. The adoptive bro didn't want to cross the line without talking about it but hey let's go when the morning 3 is an option. Also the a couple of Jacobs were mentioned in the other books but no reference here, why mention it. Way 2 many guys that made the story unbalanced while also wanting to hit the plot. The story didn't have the same vibe as the other 2, seemed forced and random.

The dude spent the whole book in prison.

I didn’t think I could love Astin and her men more, but Elizabeth Knight proved me wrong once again! This book packed a heck of a punch, literally and figuratively. Full of action, steamy moments, unconditional love, deceit, and suspense, this book had everything and more. I fell even harder and deeper for Astin. She is just such a kick butt character and despite her claims of being a monster, her loyalty and love to those she cares for in unparalleled. Seeing Astin get her revenge against those who wronged and harmed her family, herself, and her men was glorious. I loved seeing justice being rightly served. I adored seeing Astin and her men’s dynamics take shape and flourish, each unique and special. Each bring such a fun, intriguing aspect to the story. My words cannot even begin to do this story justice, just trust me when I say you need to read this book/series!!!

such a phenomenal series - love it!

Wow! What a ride - fricking fantastic
I honestly love this series, Astin is a phenomenal FMC - coming from such traumatic upbringing and really stepping up into this kick butt leader.
The relationship journey in this book is so complex but also so very sweet at the same time. The individual detail of each mini relationship is fascinating- such softness versus their brutal way of life.
The new characters in this book are a fantastic welcome addition.
The detail and emotion, along with the suspense and mystery written into the storyline had me not being able to put the book down until the very last word - I was completely captivated.
Extremely glad there is more to come in this series - I’m totally obsessed in Astin and her Lieutenants.

Had a really hard time getting into this one. Not the fault of the author or the writing but found myself running into walls wanting more from every character. Wanted Astin to lead more, wanted Liu to find his footing, wanted the other members of her harem to really cement their relationship but I'm able to patient.

We're still following Astin as she manages the men around the Family around her. It was a really hard path she decided to travel on, becoming the head of the Family, finding out all the secrets that circle around her and her father. Every step seems to be one forward and two steps back.

This book gives you the romance that was missing from the first couple of books with all the hits that come along with an Elizabeth Knight romance book while also giving you that dark gritty feeling that this series really tries to portray.

Revenge & Truth, the third book in the Caprioni Queen series by Elizabeth Knight was everything we needed it to be and more! If you thought things were hot and heated in the first two, you haven’t read anything yet!

In this story we see Astin truly come into her own to take on the families, her enemies and even her men. I love her strength, power and confidence and seeing how hard she fought for what was hers. Astin is a true Queen and is as freaking BA as they come and I can’t wait to see how she handles all that’s coming her way. Elizabeth delivered one punch after another with this one, and the plot moved seamlessly along until the very end. Full of nonstop action, spicy heat and more twists and secret revelations along the way make this one a definite must read. And I can’t wait for the next book!

🥂 Here’s to revenge on those who’ve wronged us, truth being found in places we least expected, and the love that has blossomed between the eight of us despite it all"

I am obsessed with this series right now! Many people recommend the Two Tricks—Hidden Empire series by this author, but Caprioni Queen is far superior, in my opinion. I do not want to put it down.

Yes, the fmc is a bit of a Mary Sue - everyone is obsessed with her, but so am I?! The spice is so good, and it is kinky in the best way. The action and plot are everything I want them to be, too. I’m just loving this ride.

As with all the books in this series so far, I will laugh about the fashion choices - trumpet sleeves? Really?!

Overall, it's just an enjoyable mafia why-choose series, with a standout take-no-shit fmc. I love it.

Wow, oh wow! So much action and heat! We pick up right where we left off with Blood & Heartache and it is absolutely non stop until the last page! I didn’t accomplish anything today because I could barely set this down! I’m so beyond excited & happy for all the 🔥 🌶️ because man oh man it was perfect every time and oh so spicy! As for the rest of the plot? Well, Astin is owning being the Queen and I am here for it! I also love that she has a new friend, who seems kick ass & to have her own story. Astin finally finds out who’s behind everything going on but definitely begins putting together plans to destroy them. I am so excited for Love & Power to see how everything turns out! Hands down 5⭐️ and 4🌶️!
