Rate this book
Everything was falling apart.
In everything give thanks.
Everything works together for good.
Jesus is my everything.

In this heartwarming collection, twenty-one Christian authors weave tales both historical and contemporary in a variety of imaginative settings. Everything features lovable characters: a homeless orphan, a reminiscing mother, an agent juggling fatherhood, a wary teenager and his dog, a terrified housebound woman, and a pair of Sherlock Holmes-obsessed orphan twins on a mission. Learn the spiritual lessons of an old car, a mission trip tragedy, a lonely grandmother’s box of Christmas ornaments, and a graphic designer’s work worries. Smile and weep with a wife bereaved by war, a taxi driver and his ministry, a sweet child with a terminal diagnosis, and chronic illness warrior who learns to bless others.

Catch the vision of hope in everything captured in two inspiring poems. Rejoice with a faithful, trusting relative with an uncertain future, sympathize with a health-challenged gardener-wannabe, cry with a family separated by war, and decide who struggles more with birthday party planning: two loyal pixies or a young mother and her mischievous dog.

Warmth, hope, and encouragement pervade the pages, echoing the theme of “everything” from a refreshing plethora of angles that are insightfully entertaining, spiritually profound, and eternally valuable. These short pieces will delight and encourage the whole family.

Overall rating: 5 stars! This is such a lovely collection of contemporary, historical fiction, poetry, and even a bit of fantasy! The messages of everything were very varied but all so lovely and encouraging!

Everything by Jae Fisher
5 stars. What a lovely, inspirational piece. <3 I love Jae Fisher’s poetry!

He is my everything:
Dedicating every word
To the purpose.
The purpose will bring Him glory
Throughout my days.

Everything by Bree Pembrook
5 stars. Ah, such a cute retelling of the famous “George Müller & the bread + milk for the orphans” story! Müller is one of my heroes so I was so excited to see him randomly pop up.

“God is truly blessing us,” Mr. Müller said as he followed to help the milkman. “Everything is working together for us, as He has promised.”

Everything by Analise M. Martin
4 stars. This story is very ambiguous but it’s super sweet and the message is on point. <3

How could he have known that this house and the people inside it would become everything to me. My life, my love, my joy.

Everything by P.D. Atkerson
5 stars. WINFIELD AND WINNY!!! <3 Ahh, I loved this little story. Cutest thing ever (baby Lee is the sweetest) and boy howdy is Gregory ever young…
P.S. If you enjoyed it, go read the AKA Simon Lee Series. Trust me.

“I feel like I’m just spinning my wheels while everything spirals out of control,” he prayed. “I don’t even know if I’m doing what You want me to do anymore. But please, just show me what to do.”

Everything by Elisabeth Joy
5 stars. Aww, this story reminded me of my own  The Colour Red !I loved poor little Mica, and his uncle, and his puppy… it was such a sweet, wholesome story!

Not that he was complaining, of course, but everything about this place was different than what he was used to. Mica tried to not let it bother him, not let it hurt… but it hurt.

Everything by Sandralena Hanley
4.5 stars. This story kinda really hit hard because I related a lot to Amy. I, too, tend to hide and avoid everything. The message here was excellent.

And here she was just trying to avoid all the scary things in life.
Everything.
She avoided everything.

Everything by E.N. Leonard
5 stars. More poetry—and great poetry at that! I loved this beautiful poem of praise. <3

Everything that begins
Will one day fade and fall,
Yet from the ashes rise
Your glories, bringing awe.

Everything by Bethany Willcock
5+ stars. Am I obsessed with this story? UM, YES. Sherlock Holmes’ star pupil turned master detective upon Holmes’ retirement, two twin girls, and a wicked sorta-kinda-step-aunt—how does it all tie together? You’ll just have to read it and find out. I absolutely adored this and I CAN’T WAIT FOR MOREEEE.

“It’s a bit like Mr. Holmes always said. ‘Pay attention to details. Everything is important.’”

Everything by Katja H. Labonté
I wrote this story on a whim for two contests at once. It has strong Alcott feels for me (I may or may not accidentally have drawn inspiration from Eight Cousins ) but most of all it is my first story set in my home province, and it’s full of Québécois allusions, even being set, unofficially, in what will soon be my new home town! I’m pretty happy with it 😊⚜️

“Everything cannot turn to our good,” Jane Etta hissed.
“Would you rather believe that than believe that it does?”

Everything by Lilly Wiscaver
4 stars. Wow, this story packed a way bigger punch than I expected! From smuggling Bibles to starting over back home, this story really explored the theme of

“Are you willing to lose everything for the cause of Christ?”

Everything: A Christmas Reminisce by Erika Mathews
5+ stars. My second favourite story in the collection. It is so precious and beautiful and encouraging and I just kept tearing up…

“Give thanks,” Beth had yelled above Jenny’s wailings. “This is part of everything.”

Everything by Rebekah A. Morris
5 stars. Super short, super good.

“The Bible says casting all our care on Him. Now what part of everything does all not cover, Mindy?”

Everything by A.F. Kopp
5 stars. This is a sweet, simple story with a great message and I loved it. <3

Sometimes losing everything helps you see what you haven’t lost.

Everything by Hannah E. Griggs
5 stars. This was a unique story (and I need more taxi driver MCs please) but the message was excellent!

“We’ve realized that everything God calls a Christian to do, whether it be pastor, doctor, foreign missionary, or taxi driver, can be used to bring glory to God and grow His Kingdom.”

Everything by Autumn Nicole
5 stars. Um… I may have cried. More than once. This was just heartbreaking and glorious and so, so sweet and I’m tearing up again remembering it.

“You can take everything away if You want.” Her voice choked. “I still trust You.”

Everything by Bethany Griggs
5 stars. This story reminded me of several chronically ill friends I have and reignited the admiration I feel for them! I was really encouraged by the message here—it’s definitely something everyone can learn from.

“You’ve given me everything I need for giving to others. You put me here for a reason, and now I want to give my gifts to someone else.”

Everything by Angie Thompson
5 stars. Will Angie Thompson ever write a story I don’t swoon over? Maybe, but today is not the day. This was so darling and tender (and felt very Canadian to me somehow?!) and I need more hisfic from this author and the message was 100% needed right now.

“But it’s not my part to know everything, only to walk faithful.”

Everything by Cassie Creley
4 stars. A sweet little story about a girl and her garden that made me want summer a lot. ;)

And there was something magical in that. How something ordinary could grow, and nurture, and connect. Everything around her was thriving.

Everything by A.Y. Daniels
4 stars. Another cute story about a mother trying to handle everything going on in her life—something that, again, I really related to…

“You have everything in control, even when it feels out of hand. Take it out of my hands and into Yours.”

Everything by Sherrice Myers
This story contained a little bit of magic, being about pixies and elves, so I won’t be rating or reviewing it out of respect to the author.

Everything by Lucy Peterson & Alaina Johnson
4 stars. Some great WWII Britain hisfic—not what I expected, but which I definitely enjoyed!

How long would it be before everything could be pieced back together?

Wow! I enjoyed the other two KDWC collections, but this!!
These stories were all soo well written. I was blown away as one after the other left me amazed at what good stories they were!
Some were by authors I'm familiar with and authors I already love - others are by authors I've read nothing by, and others are by brand new authors...and I enjoyed all of them!
Here are the individual reviews of each story.

Everything by Jae Fisher: 3.5 stars
Everything by Bree: 4.75 stars. Eeeek!!!! I love this story, based on a true account I've always loved!
Everything by Analise M. Martin: 4 stars. Although very well written, I had trouble following because I felt like I was missing backstory. There were several things I war confused about. But I enjoyed the writing style and would read more by this author.
Everything by P.D. Atkerson: 5 stars. The very first story I read when I got the whole collection, because I just couldn't wait. Fans of the Simon Lee Universe (that is, all books connected to the AKA Simon Lee series) will NOT want to miss this one. So, so, so sweet. I wanted to hug both the characters.
Everything by Elisabeth Joy: 5 stars. Aww... This was so so sweet. I would love to read an expanded book-length version!
Everything by Sandralena Hanley: 4.5 stars. A very interesting story which I really enjoyed. Again, I'd love a longer version!
Everything by E.N. Leonard: 4 stars
Everything by Bethany Willcock: 5 stars!! Brilliant mystery and brilliant angle! Recommended for all Sherlock Holmes fans.
Everything by Katja H. Labonté: 5 stars. Wow... I loved this story. I have yet to meet anything by the author that I don't love. I loved the characters especially - Lester and Jane Etta together were so sweet. The setting, the story, the humour and the sweetness... everything.
Everything by Lilly Wiscaver: 4 stars. I struggled a little with the writing style, which got a bit repetitive sometimes, but I loved the story. I would love to read a book, even a series, about these characters.
Everything by Erika Mathews: 5 stars. Ohhh, this was so beautiful. I absolutely love this author's writing style, and this was so so beautifully written. (Although set at Christmas time, it wasn't really a Christmas story, as it was mostly about things that had happened in the past.) Absolutely lovely - such a sweet, beautiful story.
Everything by Rebekah A. Morris: 4.75 stars. Aww, this was such a sweet story! It was very short, but I really enjoyed it.
Everything by A.F. Kopp: 5 stars. I loved this story. Extremely well written, and so sad and sweet. I loved how the word everything came up multiple times, in different contexts. I hope to read more by this author in the future!
Everything by Hannah E. Griggs: 5 stars. Wow! What an interesting and unique story! I enjoyed it so much.
Everything by Autumn Nicole: 4.75 stars. Layla made me want to cry. This was such a sweet story.
Everything by Bethany Griggs: 5 stars. Excellent story with some extremely good lessons.
Everything by Angie Thompson: 5 stars. I loved Miss Kate - I loved the while story. I struggled to keep all the names and backstory straight, but otherwise...I so enjoyed it. And those accents are the best. Very different story which I absolutely loved.
Everything by Cassie Creley: 4.5 stars. This story was so different, all about gardening. I really enjoyed it!
Everything by A.Y. Daniels: 5 stars. Aww...such a sweet story that made me smile. I couldn't help loving Sprinkles despite everything, and this story about a small, ordinary family was just so lovely.
Everything by Sherrice Myers: DNF as I don't read fantasy.
Everything by Lucy Peterson and Alaina Johnson: 5 stars. A sad, but beautiful WWII story.

Highly, highly recommend this collection. I don't agree with every statement made, but the stories were very good. The best KDWC Collection yet!

This collections covers a wide range of things about Everything. Some stories I didn’t enjoy as much, and others were very well done. Since there are so many stories in this collection, I’m only going to mention my favorite ones.
(And yes, I do have a short story in here, but I’m reviewing this collection as though it wasn’t there.)

Everything by Elisabeth Joy
This story was so sweet! I wasn’t sure I’d like it or not at the beginning, but I ended up getting a little teary-eyed over it.

Everything by Sandralena Hanley
While I couldn’t relate to Amy, the author made me sympathize with her and I wanted to go visit her and hug her.

Everything by Bethany Willcock
This was a fun story with a lovely ending.

Everything by Katja H. Labonté
I liked this story and the message it held.

Everything by Erika Matthews
Sweet Christmas story that made me smile and blink back a tear.

Everything by Hannah E. Griggs
Such a good message! I liked Frank and the whole story.

Everything by Autumn Nicole
Somewhat sad, but still good and encouraging.

Everything by Bethany Griggs
I really liked this story. The message of be an encouragement to others no matter what you are dealing with was well done. Even a smile can encourage others.

Everything by Cassie Creley
This was a good story. Well written and enjoyable.

The Everything Short Story Collection is full of sweet, touching stories each incorporating the word "everything" in a meaningful way (no romance and that's a plus for me XD). The writing varies from story to story given the author, but I found it fun and easy to go along with. I got to glimpse a bit of each authors heart and share so many tiny moments in so many fictional characters lives. I was never quite sure what was going to happen next and I've never quite read a book like it.

It's not the sort of thing I usually read, but overall it actually exceeded my expectations.

This anthology is amazing! It contains a variety of short stories and poems, all written by KDWC alumni and centered around the word “Everything”. I highly recommend it if you want an anthology of stories with varied settings, characters, and themes. Since it contains so many stories, I shall only review my favorite ones individually.

“Everything” (they all have the same title, which will make this interesting) by Analise M. Martin: A beautifully written story/sketch in letter format that makes me want to learn more about the characters and setting.
“Everything” by Bethany Willcock: Sherlock Holmes fanfiction with mystery and suspense on every page. This made me want to read a sequel!
“Everything” by Katja H. Labonte: An impeccably written story. I liked the setting–I don’t think I’ve ever read a story set in French Canada before.
“Everything” by Lilly Wiscaver: A contemporary story with a hard-hitting and convicting theme.
“Everything” by Autumn Nicole: A well-written, emotional story with a theme centered around Psalm 91.
“Everything” by Bethany Griggs: A story about a chronic illness sufferer with a theme of giving.
“Everything” by Angie Thompson: A sweet historical story written in an old-fashioned writing style. Miss Kate was a delightful character, though it was a little hard to keep the secondary characters straight.
“Everything” by Cassie Creley: A well-written story about a woman with chronic illness who takes up gardening.
“Everything” by Sherrice Myers: A sweet and light-hearted tale about two pixies planning a birthday party for their friend.
“Everything” by Lucy Peterson and Alaina Johnson: A sad WWII story with a beautiful theme of Proverbs 3:5.

Rating: 4.5 stars. This collection exceeded my expectations!! So many great and encouraging stories. I was blessed to be able to be published with these other authors. Most of the stories are contemporary, but there are several historical fiction ones in the mix as well (and one other plus a poem). There was one story that I skipped for personal reasons. Overall, this is a great collection with bite-sized, encouraging stories to read!
