After a nightmare of a nanny, Daisy was more than a piece of fresh air.
Things have been more than difficult for Perry. Raising a baby werewolf and being a single dad who was constantly on the road. After the latest mishap with his former nanny, he had to try and hire a new nanny who could teach Mason everything from being a werewolf and how to read. It's tough finding someone in the pack willing to give up so much of their life to help raise a little girl that's not their own. Then Daisy fell into his lap and awoke so many feelings that he never thought he would experience after losing his mate.
Daisy was having a quarter-life crisis after realizing that she didn't want to go through another three years in university for a field that wasn't the right fit. After finding out that Perry was looking for a nanny. It seemed like the perfect job where she didn't have to worry about creating an excuse as to why she couldn't work any full moon. The only bad thing, she would have to work for her dead best friend’s mate. A guy she had a crush on since they were kids.
Curl up with Making the Cut to find out if the werewolf hockey player can find love after losing his mate and if it's worth exploring his feelings with his nanny.
If you love werewolves and hockey romances, this is the book for you.
Widowed werewolf shifter Perry (H) struggles to balance being a single dad to his young daughter, Mason, and his career as a hockey player. After firing Mason’s nanny, he fires Daisy (h), his late wife’s best friend, though it isn’t long before Daisy and Perry are more to one another than employer-employee. She’s not his mate, but Daisy comes to mean much more to Perry and Mason. A sweet single dad-nanny, werewolf shifter romance with a side of heat and a precocious toddler.
I have read books by Kat Obie before and also in the 'Loving The Wild' series. These were all about finding their true mate. This story has a different twist, finding a love after losing a mate.
Shame!
Even though Daisy and Perry's story is a love story, I missed the link and the experiences shared in previous books when they found each other as mates. This was a slowly building story where Perry finds Daisy's qualities and love for his daughter whom he raises alone after the death of his mate. He starts to trust her more and more and slowly the love comes for him too.
The description of his 3-year-old daughter does not come across well. I love her as a character but no one believes she is 3 years old. It looks more like a 6-years or older kid to me with her comments and the things she does.

I had a hard time with this one. The storyline had so much potential yet it fell so flat for me. Though I know it’s an ARC there seemed to be too many things that just didn’t fit or stay consistent. I tried but couldn’t keep up with this one. It reads like it could be a standalone, but I felt like I was missing so many pieces to a puzzle. I felt that Mason didn’t act like a three year old, Theo wasn’t treated as a six year old, and though I understand it’s probably part of werewolf culture, I just couldn’t get passed it enough to enjoy the adventure I was supposed to be on. Then there’s Daisy and Perry. Their love goes beyond mating but the “rules” are still confusing. I don’t want to ruin it for anyone so I won’t go into detail. Just know they are meant for each other, all three of them make a beautiful family. Unfortunately this book wasn’t for me, but maybe it will be for someone else.

Another great addition to the Loving the Wild series. The book is fast-paced and fun to read. I got a little side-tracked from the story because the imagine of Mason as a baby werewolf is just so cute. Can you imagine a precocious 3-year-old baby werewolf? The relationship Mason has with pack Alpha Kirby is sweet and adds a great touch to the story. Perry lost his wife (mother of Mason) and Daisy lost her good friend – to magic. Neither Perry or Daisy trust magic now but it is necessary sometimes to protect individuals and the pack. Perry is a professional hockey player while Daisy is a college student who is looking for a change. After a disastrous experience with one nanny, Daisy if the answer to Perry’s childcare dilemma. This is a great story with a natural HAE. The plotting isn’t bad but seemed rushed. The characters are fun though and the editing isn’t too bad. I can’t wait for the next in the series.

The best part of the story Mason, Perry’s three year old daughter, who comes out with the strangest questions and statements. Perry has been raising his daughter on his own, she has the ability to shift at a young age. She gives him a run for his money. He has to fire the nanny as Mason shows up at the rink and the she never told him she lost her.
Daisy, who was best friends with Perry’s wife, is currently in college and is questioning her path and needs a break. When she finds out Perry is looking for a nanny, it seems like the perfect fit. She has a crush on Perry, the more time they spend together, the more things heat up.
This story is not over the top about mates, but a pair that have fallen in love with each other.
Making the Cut is the fourth book in Kat Obie's series Loving the Wild. Kat Obie has grown to one of my favorite authors. She has the finesse to give her readers fabulous paranormal romances.
Perry struggles being a single dad. His daughter, Mason, is one of the few werewolf's able to shift from birth. Perry wants Mason to have a normal life, but she fights him at every turn.
Daisy steps up to assist in Mason's care. She thought it would be hard to be around Perry after loss of his mate. His mate was Daisy best friend. They all hung out together when they were young. She held secret from Perry and his mate. Will her crush on Perry be ignited or ignored?.

This is a good addition to the hockey shifter series "Loving the Wild". It is a stand alone read with connected character that is fairly short and quick. The story is about Daisy, Perry and a very inquisitive and precocious little Mason. Perry is a hockey player and widower trying to raise his three year old shifter daughter Mason. He has just fired he nanny and need some help. Daisy who was best friends with his deceased wife steps in to interview for the position. This is a sweet story that is cute with some humor, angst, passion, action and steamy. I really like the characters and Mason just stole the show.
This was just what I needed to make me smile, I love romances with paranormal elements and hockey. Its not often I get treated to both in one story. It had wonderful characters in Perry and Daisy. I liked their chemistry. I loved Perry's little girl Mason and her spunky attitude. This story had a lot of cute moments with her between the two characters. I enjoyed the narrative. I think I liked the way the characters both gave their point of view. The dialogue was also well done in my opinion for the adults. The children sound more like adults than children. I received a complimentary copy of this story and I freely left this review.
Great addition to the series! This is an entertaining shifter romance with a cast of strong characters centering on Daisy, Perry and his adorable three year old daughter, Mason. The author does a great job developing the story and paints her scenes perfectly. She brings all the feels in this emotional story adding humor and a bit of drama and fear as she brings the three together as a family. I enjoyed reading their story.

I absolutely LOVE Kat Obie’s books! Particularly her hockey books. But, I’ll be honest I wasn’t particularly engrossed in this one. First, paranormal and shifter is not my jam! If it’s yours, you will love this book about a werewolf shifter hockey player widower and single dad to a baby werewolf. Good story, good characters; just not my fave! I’m still going to give it four stars because the story line was solid as were the characters.
I love hockey romance and this is the first paranormal one I have read with interesting characters and a well-crafted story that kept me entertained and intrigued from start to finish. I loved the attraction and romance between Perry and his nanny Daisy, with his three-year old daughter Mason being the icing on the cake. If you enjoy werewolves and hockey, Making the Cut is a must-read. I received an advance reader copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my review.
Perry and Daisy's story is a nice mix of single dad/ nanny and friends to lovers. It is a very easy read. Mason steals the "scene" being the precocious sassy little girl with a definite opinion on who she wants to be around when Dad isn't an option. This book leaves you wanting to know more about how Mason is in the future and how things are with Perry and Daisy.
Perry and Daisy are good characters with a shared but distant history. The story is good and moves logically. Little Mason takes the cake and makes the story. She is precious if a little advanced for her age. I love revisiting with members of the Wild team and the pack. The story is sweet and easy to enjoy. Thank you for an advance copy. This is my honest opinion.
Making the Cut probably has my favorite family thus far in the Loving the Wild series. Mason the three year baby werewolf is the thing that made the story for me. It added a layer of cuteness. Daisy and Perry who didn't fight their connection or attraction. They find love with eachother. This is a beautiful story of family and love.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Mason was very sweet and advanced. I liked how she got Perry and Daisy together. Perry and Daisy are a very suitable couple even if they are not fated mates and their friends think so too.
Another enjoyable read in this series Loving the Wild. This is book four and the story of Perry and Daisy and their journey to their happily ever after. The story flows well, the characters are likeable and fit well together.
A well written plot line and the characters were intresting to read. It's a refreshing story and the romance the love drama steamy times between the characters were intresting to read.

This was a very entertaining story. Mason adds a lot of charm to it. Perry's 1st wife died 2 years ago and the nanny he hired is an old friend. He gradually falls for his nanny as does she for him. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
