Coming Home for Us

Rate this book
The Wilder Brothers from New York Times best-selling author Carrie Ann Ryan continue with Elijah’s last chance at redemption and love.

I made plans. I followed the path. I fell in love.

Then the world took her away from me.

I swore to never love again, and I’ve done all I could to keep that vow.

But life finds a way, and I can’t stop this burning attraction with my best friend.

Maddie stood by me when my world shattered.

She deserves more than a broken man who promised to never love again.

Only I swear she feels the same way about me. And I have no idea what to do about it.

Now she might leave the Wilders, and I can’t tell her to stay—even if it means shattering the one piece of me I have left.

Oh come on now! H has a "thing" for heroine growing up but once OW comes to the picture he forgets all about her and falls in love with OW and then continues to grieve for her in the entire book and never stops loving her. The OW is his soulmate and we are supposed to think that this a romance?

Heroine was a doormat and settled for not even 2nd best. He didn't choose her over anyone else. He willingly gave his heart to OW and stumped on hers. The fool that she was is to not move on and find her own soulmate and live her best life. Instead, she accepted the crumps he gave her and forgot the he sh***ed on her feelings.

Who the hell wants a guy who chose someone else over you? All she got was another women's leftovers and a knowledge that if she had not died, he would never have chosen her. That's not romance to me. It's a whole lot of BS but to each their own.....

We have all been waiting for this story, with baited breath, ever since the beginning of the series, but definitely since the end of book three and I am proud to say that Carrie Ann Ryan has totally outdone herself with it. This series is one that will tug so strongly on your heart, making you cry just as often as you laugh and have you falling in love with the Wilders repeatedly, but I warn you now, that if you are coming into the series late, pack your tissues because this is one is a serious tearjerker. I have been a fan of this series since it spun-off from the Montgomery World with the Wilders sister Eliza and I have no regretted one moment of the tears, laughter and love I’ve experienced. I cannot wait for the last two books in the series, but more than anything I look forward to these Wilders all finally finding love and peace after their tragic and difficult pasts.

Elijah Wilder is finally digging himself out of the metaphorical grave that he found himself in two years ago when he buried the woman that was to become his fiancé. Though he knows he still loves her, he’s learning it’s time to move on as well and try to find some peace and happiness again. Maddie once believed that Elijah would be the man she loved and had a future with, but after the loss he suffered she has finally let those dreams go, and it might be time for her to move on. Now they are stuck together working on a huge project for their Winery, one that could put them on the map, but it also sets Maddie and Elijah down a path that neither of them ever imagined they would travel. When the passion between them finally explodes, they decide they will give their relationship a chance and see where it goes, but can two people both so broken find a way to embrace the happiness they can shared? Or will the past forever haunt their present and keep them from having a future together?

I loved every second of this story, even when I had ugly tears rolling down my face and had to put the e-reader down so I could catch my breath. Maddie and Elijah were both so beautifully damaged and needed one another in order to heal, even though they couldn’t see that need as easily as those around them could. Maddie was a woman at her wits’ end for sure, done with fighting for a man that is unwilling to fight to keep himself in the world of the living. But once he shows her the smallest opening she works her ass off to prove that she can be there to heal his heart and offer him all the love she had in her heart. Her sass, sweetness, irreverence, humor, and vulnerabilities made her a beautiful character to learn about. Elijah, like most of the Wilder men, was an ass a few times, needing a swift kick in the rear so that he didn’t totally screw up and lose the love that Maddie was offering with a stupid decision. He definitely had some serious PTSD and fears to work through, but once he managed to get over that, he offered himself fully and proved to Maddie that he was worth the risk. I hated to see him dealing with the pain of his lose, but actually watching him deal with it made me proud of him. The heat between them was off the charts and no one could doubt the passion was enough to keep their fires burning for long years to come. I loved the healing these two managed together and that they finally found a way to release their pain and share their hearts. I am dying for the next story, East and Lark, and cannot wait to finally get to dig into the enigma that is East and learn what makes him tick. Out-of-this-world Spectacular, Carrie!

Workplace Romance

H - girlfriend ☠️ in accident
h - has always loved him

I’m not feeling it and I’m not connecting with the h at all. She’s even annoying me with her constant indecisions and her need for time to think. The H’s sudden fixation on her doesn’t feel authentic.

Also, I haven’t read the previous books and it definitely feels like I’m jumping into the middle of a series. I’m a bit lost about who’s who. There are too many characters from the other books for me to get straight. I think it’s best to read this series in order. Although, maybe if this story was more interesting I wouldn’t mind missing some backstory.

What a bloody waste of a story.
There's a joke about grooms not showing up at their weddings. Just move the best man into his spot and the show can go on seeing as how they are all dressed up in the same penguin outfit.
MMC's fiance died? Oh well not to worry he can move on with the second best thing that happens to lay around: the FMC. And of course she is more than glad to oblige.
The jackass is nothing but an opportunist. Death? Divorce? Cheating? Just got bored and wants out or any other inconvenience? You name it. That moron will be set for life. How the bloody hell is this trash romance when the FMC is getting the screwgee considering she's been pining after him forever? Especially when the jackhole never gave her the time of day. To think I was looking forward to Elijah and Maddie since the first book. And this is their epic love story? She gets to play second fiddle to a dead fiance? If Joy is not dead there is no romance to write about, is there?
Like I said what a waste of a bloody story. 😠

Soooo...I've been interested in Elijah's book for a while, but for sure since Joy. I wasn't sure how I would like this one. I liked Maddie, but I also like Joy and Elijah and was so heartbroken when she died. I thought this book did a good job of dealing with both relationships, the new and the old. You could tell that Elijah has some lingering issues due to how Joy died and boy did those come into play here. I'm glad that he had good people around him to set him straight. I also liked that Maddie had other options and was set to really explore them at different times, because if nothing was going to come with a relationship with Elijah, then it really was time to move on, even if I hated the thought of that. I'm glad things ended the way they did with them both and they were allowed to be happy together.

Losing the love of your life is devastating. For Elijah, it is even more traumatic as the events unfold in how he lost her and the night it happened. Two years later, Elijah still deals with his lost and struggles to move on. An unpopular opinion for many is that someone who was so in love should move on with their life. I personally have no issues with this and this is why this book is so good for me.

Elijah and Maddie have an emotional journey. I really enjoyed their friendship and soon timing was right to change to more. Elijah suffered a big loss and Maddie had a loss, too but it didn't mean that things couldn't work between them. I loved how Andi Arndt and Jason Clarke brought these characters to life!

Maddie and Elijah story is heartbreaking. He’s still dealing with his loss. This family always comes together especially when one of there own needs help.

I grinned. “Oh. Please write a song about the Wilder brothers.”

Just like real life everything is not always perfect but overall a beautiful love story.

I received an arc from the author in return for a review.

This is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. It's a story about losing the one you love and learning to live and love again. Was emotional and angsty at times, spicy at times, but over all a great story. I'm new to the series and it definitely makes me want to go back and read the other characters story's. Highly recommend.

I did get the audio version and it was very well narrated. I always wish I could tell an author to choose your narrators wisely because they can make or break your story. This author chose very wisely. It's worth a listen, just to hear Jason Clarke read a naughty scene to you. 🔥 🌶️💥

I am so mad right now.... I bought this book cause I was so eager to see how this story would unfold and I'm utterly disappointed.
It started very interesting with an unrequited love and then Joy the unfortunate deceased girlfriend was shoved down our throats constantly. Ok we get it he was in love with her but then why did the author need to make the MMC realize that oh yeah he was also attracted to Maddie from the first moment but then never did anything so he fell in love with Joy.
So who was second best? Joy or Maddie?
In the end his declaration of her being the only one for his current self, was not strong or good enough for me. It just did not convince me. It just felt that he was comfortable and that he was trying to hold on to someone new to love. Who happened to be someone he already knew.

In general I "liked" his push back because of his fear of losing yet another person and his nightmares but it got ridiculous and the whole 3rd act happened at around 85% of the book. I said ok Maddie is going to be a doormat and simply take him back. Which is exactly what happened...

Nothing was really passionate and everything was just blunt, like a cold tasteless soup.

There was no passion no drama nothing. Ok there was but not to the extent I believed this story was going to develop.

I'm so freaking disappointed

Carrie Ann Ryan’s Wilder Brothers series follows six ex-military brothers who open a luxurious winery and resort, while unexpectedly finding love. Coming Home For Us is the fourth book in this series, and it's an emotional romance between Maddie and Elijah.
The intense emotions between these two characters are palpable. The story deals with hard topics such as loss and grief and how to find hope after tragedy. The author's skillful storytelling makes this a compelling read.
While it's enjoyable to catch up with the previous couples and the brotherly antics, the female characters are also delightful, and the girl gang adds a fun dynamic to the story. Overall, Coming Home For Us is a must-read for romance lovers, and readers will eagerly anticipate the next book in the series.

4.5-stars!

Coming Home for Us by Carrie Ann Ryan is the fourth book in The Wilder Brothers series and gives us Elijah’s story. Elijah broke my heart. He was in love and thought he had it all and then he lost it all. The guilt and loss weigh heavily on him and is determined to never love again. Maddie begins to feel she is ready for a change. She loves her job and friends, but has had feelings for Elijah. Maybe the time has come for something different. But then things begin to change and feelings began to blur and nothing will be the same again.

I absolutely loved Elijah and Maddie, even as my heart broke for them. Their journey was emotional, heartbreaking, and full of angst. I loved their friendship and watching things change between them. Such a sweet and touching read.

Happy reading!

Coming Home for Us by Carrie Ann Ryan was an emotional and swoony second chance friends to lovers romance. I loved spending time with Wilder family. Elijah had to overcome his fear of loving and losing and Maddie will be the perfect partner to help him through it. He has a lot of emotional baggage and Maddie's love helped him to heal finally. It had some really heartaching moments to capture your heart.

This story is set in the beautiful Texas and the winery and vineyards. I loved how the nature played an important part here. From the set up to the tornado that forced Elijah and Maddie to stay in the hotel to the flash flood that was a turning point for Elijah. He has loved and lost once and now he is too scared to love. Maddie has always loved him but he was in love with another woman and he is technically her boss. She has been stuck at an odd place and she finally decided to move on. I love how smart and witty and sassy she is. She has the most beautiful and strongest heart too. Elijah needed someone to push him to a new direction. Maddie was always his closest friend.. The person who helped him when he was grieving and slowly that friendly love turned into something else. It was a confusing and terrifying time for him and my heart ached for this amazing man who is lost in so many ways. I am so happy he found his home with Maddie.

Ps I love big families and The Wilders are a wild bunch!

Coming Home For Us🤗

Coming Home For Us is the next book in the Wilder Brothers series and should not be missed❣️ Elijah is one of the brothers I’ve been desperately been waiting for as well as East’s story.

Maddie has had a thing for Elijah for as long as I can remember but unfortunately not long after they started working together, Elijah met Joy and they soon became serious. Maddie not wanting to make waves befriended Joy until the worst happened and life as they knew it was changed forever😢

A wonderful journey of finding your other half after you thought you’d already met them and second chances😍 East is next up and after that brief little glimpse into his story, I’m really really excited now🤩

This is one of those tropes that treads a very fine line of weather or not the h is second best to the dead spouse…. And I have to admit I struggled to really believe their love for a good 2/3rd of the book. I get his guilty over loving someone else when he thought he’d lost the love of my life and I also get grief over the loss, but the question is do I think he lived the h enough to believe in the HEA. Yep, but I had my doubts a lot which added to the angst of the book

Maddie has been with the winery since before the Wilders purchased it. She knows these grounds, this business, and has poured so much of herself into the events side of the winery that she has built up a reputation for herself that has nearby companies trying to poach her. But her heart lies with the Wilders, though she is beginning to wonder how much more her heart can take when it comes to a particular Wilder brother.

Elijah may have spent a similar amount of time in the military as his brothers, but his assignments were considerably less dangerous than others. Until the woman he loved was killed in a tragic accident, he hadn’t lost anyone close to him, and now even two years later he is still wracked with the guilt of feeling like he didn’t do enough.

This has been a story building from the beginning of the Wilder Brothers series, but as the series progressed and Joy entered the picture, I wasn’t sure how I could find myself liking Joy but also knowing I really wanted Elijah and Maddie to find a HEA together.

Timing has always been a challenge for these two. Maybe before Elijah started dating Joy they might have been a thing, but when he found Joy, Maddie did her best to be happy for them and keep her feelings to herself. But then tragedy strikes and her heart breaks for him, but again the timing is wrong. Two years later, and she is starting to think she needs a change of scenery to be able to move forward for herself.

I loved their working relationship, which is easy and full of banter from the very beginning. These are two people who are quite comfortable with who they are. Maddie is so selfless when it comes to Elijah.

I loved returning to the Wilder world, and am so glad this one put a little bit of distance between the events at the end of The Path to You. There’s no way this story could have been told without the benefit of time for the feelings to really dig in. That being said, I am looking forward to East’s story in Stay Here with Me. I loved the bit of a teaser we got and I can’t wait to see how the grumpiest of the brothers falls for his match.

So I had different expectations for this book and was a little disappointed in it.

At the end of the last book, Elijah's girlfriend Joy was killed in a car accident. We learn that Maddie who works for the family also has a crush on him but now that he is grieving doesn't know what to do with her feelings since he is clearly a mess - and rightfully so.

At the start of this book, time has progressed and Maddie is unsure of her place with the WIlder resort. She has had a few relationships but is still struggling with her feelings for Elijah. She's given an opportunity to change jobs but also grow within the Wilder Resort business as well and she has some decisions to make.

Meanwhile, Elijah still is mourning Joy - his deceased girlfriend that he was going to propose to. He is still struggling with his grief but also his feelings for Maddie as well and doe not want to see her leave the resort.

When the two are placed in a close proximity due to circumstance they act on their attraction but then struggle with the aftermath of their actions but then decide to give a relationship a shot. However, both have issues throughout their story - Elijah with a fear of losing Maddie tragically and Maddie struggles with her career choices and what will happen if her relationship with Elijah if things do not work out. She also spends a lot of time worrying about his grief issues.

This was a good read and brings up some realistic issues - definitely the grief process. I was thrilled that it was mentioned that Elijah as well as the others in some capacity sought counseling for their issues and that it was mentioned that he still was speaking with someone as opposed to not dealing with his issues. My issue with this book is with the characters themselves. I did think that they were very insecure for two grown adults. They were also a bit wishy-washy - the will he/she - won't he/she. After a while it was rather frustrating since I was hoping for stronger characters.

Overall, this was just an okay book for me. The plot was good and the story progressed well but my issues were with the characters.

Timing is everything! Even when the timing is right, not dealing with things can only make things harder. Elijah and Maddie tried to move seamlessly from friends to lovers, and even knowing what baggage they carried, they decided to just ignore it. They tried to make their world a happy, shiny, place (complete with some naughty rhymes), and of course, that caught up with them. Some good grovelling, family intervention, and friendly advice, and returning to the scene of deep emotions, made them realize what they wanted and were willing to work for, each other <3

Elijah and Maddie's love story is beautiful. These two go from friends to more and while they have to deal with the issue of Joy's death and the effect it has on Elijah they also have the love and support of their family and friends. Lots of emotions and steam wrapped in a beautiful love story.

Emotional, Heart-Breaking and Yet Wonderful
It's the turn of Elijah and Mddie to take their chance at a future together, no easy thing when Elijah is still grieving the loss of Joy which happened at the end of the previous book and he's vowed to never fall in love again. As for Maddie, well she's been in love with Elijah since she first laid eyes on him and everyone but him knew it.

Elijah's the operations director of Wilder Wines, Maddie is a main force when it comes to selling their wine and runs all the winery tasting tours and is one of the most important faces of the Wilder Retreat and Winery. Elijah isn’t her direct boss as she works under his brother Evan, but he denied his attraction to her in the early days because of their close working relationship. Maddie's had boyfriends in the past two years but still, her heart keeps skipping a beat whenever Elijah's near or when he texts her and seems unable to feel deeply towards any of her boyfriends.

Elijah is starting to get over the loss of Joy two years ago and has realised that he's feeling drawn to Maddie again but is reticent to act on his attraction, but when they are forced into sharing a room on a business trip the feelings between them are too strong to fight and they agree to try and see where their attraction will take them. But the issues of his loss still run deep and it looks like he's going to let them spoil everything he and Maddie could have together. Will he be able to overcome his loss? Will Maddie give him yet another chance? Will she even stay at the Wilder Retreat and Winery?

Their journey is so emotional, there's so much heartbreak, pain, and anguish, and having experienced personal loss their story struck a chord within me, and Carrie Ann's writing is so good that I felt every emotion as deeply as the characters did. I can not stress too much how powerful this book is, how much it moved me or how much I ultimately enjoyed this amazing roller coaster ride! Do not miss Elijah and Mddie's story it is a must-read/listen.

The narration of this book is performed to perfection by Andi Arndt and Jason Clarke, they brought out every emotion and made the characters come alive, I'm so glad I listened to this book because I know I would have had to stop reading because of my tears. Thank you Andi and Jason you did a wonderful job with this one.

My review is written voluntarily and contains only my personal opinions.

I feel like we have been waiting for Elijah and Maddie to find love. If I am being honest I will say that I was shocked when Elijah started dating someone, and my heart literally broke for Maddie. It was like watching a friend watch the man she loved fall for someone else. My heart ached for her. And I was a little mad at Elijah for not noticing and loving my friend as much as I did. But everyone's story isn’t a straight forward route and Elijah and Maddie’s is no different.
Maddie found herself and thrived working for the Wilder Vineyards. She was doing what she loved, and loved the family she built with the brothers and their significant others. She couldn’t help falling for Elijah but all they had was friendship. When opportunities come knocking for Maddie she is put in a tough spot, does she stay or does start over somewhere else? Elijah losing the woman he thought he would love forever was tough. He began to wade through grief and was certain that he wouldn’t be able to love again. But when he starts to notice Maddie in a different way than he had previously, things start to shift for him.
I really love how we have been able to see Elijah and Maddie’s relationship evolve through the other brothers books, and really get inside their heads as things shift for both of them. And then the pair finally gave into their feelings holy buckets was it HOT! So hot….wowzer these two have some serious chemistry- which I think we were all expecting. But Elijah’s dirty mouth was a very nice surprise!
The internal angst was amazing, and I think it highlights the fact that communication in relationships is key, even in fictional ones! Elijah and Maddie worked hard for their relationship- which had some ups and downs, and it is clear that they are a perfect fit for one another. Do yourself and favor and download the epilogue you WILL NOT be disappointed.
Another amazing Wilder book from Carrie Ann Ryan! This series has quickly become one of my absolute favorites and the tease for the next book was amazing, and not nice at the same time! But OMG East is next, friends and he is going to be the grumpiest of them all….but they always fall the hardest, right?!?

Finally Seeing You!!!

Elijah Wider had his whole life planned out, he was working with his family, had a woman that loved him. Just when he was about to take their relationship to the next level, tragedy took her away from. Now he's drowning and the only person who keeps him grounded is his friend and co-worker, Maddie .

Maddie Swift whom we've met since the start of the series works with the Wilders as the manager and wine taster of the resort. She had always hade a crush on Elijah Wilder but as a typical male, he was clie less about her feelings. He had a girlfriend, a woman she'd considered as a friend inspite of how she felt about Elijah. Now she was no longer with them thanks to a horrible accident.

Fast forward years later, three of the Wilder brothers started families and are in loving relationships. Elijah is finally coming out of his shell. He promised himself that he would never fall in love again but his treacherous heart went and fell for his best-friend and co-worker, Maddie. The ladder was approached by another business, they were offering a higher position something that could make her feel like she belonged. And he couldn't stand in her way.

What neither one of them didn't realized was that all they ever needed to feel complete was each other. They finally put their cards on the table and took a chance, one that wasn't easy cause they both had demons they had to face before they got to their HEA. It was great to see their loved ones rooting for them, giving them some much needed advice when both Maddie and Elijah got caught up in their own heads.

COMING HOME FOR US is the fourth book in Carrie Ann Ryan's the WILDER BROTHERS series. Wow what a phenomenal, intoxicating and oh so heartwarming ride. Carrie Ann Ryan pulled at my heartstrings, I loved Maddie and Elijah's journey from start to finish. Such a GLORIOUS experience. Carrie did a mind-blowing job as ever! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

P. S. Lark is becoming one of my favorite characters in the series. Looking forward to her story! ;)

I wasn’t sure how this book would start and whether it would be immediately after how the previous book ended. This story starts two years after, and we see how Joy’s death impacted and still impacts especially Elijah and Maddie and those around them. Interesting how the story started with possible news about them being included in an event that would be amazing for the winery, but someone started an email fiasco with a reply all and that is how both Maddie and Elijah are starting their day and the story begins. Maddie and Elijah work well together and Maddie’s doesn’t think he ever knew about her ‘crush’ on him years ago but everyone else knew. They end up getting an offer to be part of a huge festival which would be a boon for their business but the two of them have to take a road trip to see one of the competitors. We got to meet Clint Dustin, which at first, I wasn’t sure I was going to like him but during the story he definitely came around. On their way back home, they encounter a pretty serious storm and end up having to spend the night and the only room available is a room that could resemble a honeymoon suite. These two have to spend the night with only one bed and things happen, as you knew they would, and they come home as more than friends. During the story a couple of things happen with Maddie and unfortunately Elijah has major problems and flashbacks to Joy and what happened to her, and he thinks he’s the catalyst for things happening to those he loves, this was definitely a hard part of the story to read. After a major event happens, he goes off on Maddie and whatever they’re calling their ‘relationship’ is over. However, his brothers are there to support him and help him get himself and his life figured out and in turn come up with a plan to win Maddie back. All I will say is I loved how this story ended and I’m especially interested to see where things with East and Lark might go. This family is everything and I love their support of one another and those in their circle and all of the unconditional love. Carrie Ann Ryan does an amazing job with her families that she writes, and this series has quickly become one of my favorites.

Coming Home for Us is the fourth installment in the Wilder Brothers series by Carrie Ann Ryan. This series is home to the ex-military Wilder brothers and the women they fall for. As always, I recommend reading a series in order to get the best experience of the story, but C.A.R does provide enough goodness if you chose to read as a standalone.

Maddie and Elijah are the couple for this adventure, and of course we get a nice visit from the previous three pairs from the first few books. Maddie is a wholesome, good girl who is looking to find herself, and she does that at the Wilders Vineyard. Maddie and Elijah’s romance is a bit like a best friend/coworker romance, she falls for him, but he doesn’t see her as anything but a friend, falls for another women, breaking Maddie’s heart in the process, tragedy strikes, grief and pain ensue and then finally light and love shine again.

When Maddie has to make a hard choice to stay or go, she is conflicted and unsure. She loves the life and the family and friends she has built at the vineyard, but seeing Elijah and not being able to be with him, is so painful. Is a change worth it? When Elijah loses the women he thought he would spend his life with, he’s a hot mess, let's be honest. Understandably. Slowly he starts to see the light again, and Maddie, but she’s not the same as she was before. Or so Elijah thinks. After years, even with Elijah determined to never go through that pain again and swearing off love, Maddie happens. When he starts seeing her in a more womanly way, he starts to think that maybe being happy isn’t as scary as he thought it would be.

Maddie and Elijah were so loveable! The rest of the Wilder family was rooting for them so much, all wanting two of their favorite people to be happy together. I really liked that we got a full story with Maddie and Elijah, even with all the pain he had to go through with Joy, to finally get his HEA was so amazing. This series is a keeper for sure, I can't wait to see hat comes next in the series. I hope that Lark will get a story!!

Sometimes the road to love is a winding, bumpy, and angsty one. Maddie and Elijah's story certainly is.

Maddie has probably been drawn to Elijah Wilder ever since he and his brothers bought the winery and resort she worked for. But it is tough when your crush is one of your bosses and he is in love with someone else.

Then tragedy strikes, forcing Elijah to shun love forever, and Maddie has been struggling with the wall he has built around his heart and the monotony of working for the winery. After all, the only thing that seems to be anchoring her there is a lost cause.

This book is set a couple of years after the third installment of the series. Elijah is reeling from the loss at the end of The Path to You. While I struggled with the loss of Joy (she was a fairly likeable character), the tension between Maddie and Elijah had spanned across the series and was always more appealing to me.

The road to their HEA is not easy. Carrie Ann Ryan weaves a nice balance of angst, grief, romance, and banter that kept me engaged throughout the bumpy ride. Since this relationship was established from the very beginning of the series, I would consider it a super-slow burn, but the wait is so worth it. Elijah, Elijah, Elijah -- who knew you had the filthiest mouth amongst your siblings?

This book can be read as a standalone, but I cannot emphasize enough the need to start from the beginning of the series to fully experience the longing and tension that is Maddie and Elijah.

East's story is next, and I live for the grumpiest Wilder's love story.

** I am voluntarily reviewing an advance copy of this book. Thank you to Carrie Ann Ryan and Give Me Books PR for providing an ARC. **

Welcome back to Texas, and the Wilder brothers.

Coming Home to Us is Elijah’s and Maddie’s story, and takes place a couple of years after The Path to You (Everett’s & Bethany’s story).

Wait…wasn’t Elijah dating Joy?

Yes…and to understand things—one should read at least the last few chapters of The Path to You…

Anyway, let’s jump a few years…

Maddie is thinking of leaving Wilder Retreat & Winery for a ‘new’ start with a different company…

But before she breaks it to the Wilders…they surprise her with the offer of partnership within Wilder Retreat & Winery…

While asking for time to think on the offer, she and Elijah head off for a brief business trip trying to schedule the first festival at Wilder Retreat & Winery.

On the way back, there is a downpour that delays them…and forces them to share a hotel room.

She just broke up with her boyfriend, and Elijah is still dealing with his issues.

They share a night, and decide to try to be couple (along with staying friends).

There are bumps in the road…flower girls arguing at a wedding, and roll down a hill.

Then comes the flash flooding, a brief ‘swim’ in a swollen river, and a massive fight.

But…

There is nothing like ‘brotherly love’ Wilder style to get Elijah to see things straight.

Want to see exactly how Elijah and Maddie work things out?

Want to go to a good old fashion barbecue?

Want to catch up with the rest of the Wilder family?

Then grab your copy of Coming Home to Us—it’s a five star read, and does require a few tissues as well.

I loved seeing Elijah coming back to the ‘living’, and Maddie getting her happily-ever-after. I’m sure they’ll still have bumps in the road—after all, Elijah is a Wilder…and a stubborn one at that.

Still need to stories for the last two Wilder brothers (East and Elliot) before I can even start to decide which Wilder brother is my favorite.

So, grab a nice cold drink, some chips and dip (or cheese), and settle in with some friends…

Coming Home For Us is book four in Carrie Ann Ryan’s Wilder Brothers series. In this series six super hot ex-military brothers open a luxury winery and resort while unexpectedly finding the loves of their lives. This one is like a punch to the gut (in the best romance way) of feelings between Maddie and Elijah, even my cold heart broke for these two.

Elijah lost his girlfriend Joy who he thought he would be with forever in a random accident. Maddie has been in love with Elijah but put her feelings aside when Elijah met Joy. Now these best friends have a chance on a wine road trip to see if they could make it work. But Elijah has to be able to move on from Joy’s death and Maddie has to put herself first for once.

The pining between these two, sigh, it’s off the charts. I love a rainy night only one bed hotel room add in it’s the honeymoon suite and classic C.A.R steam and I was in total heaven.

“I’ve always wanted you, Elijah. Even when it hurt me to do so, even when I knew it was a mistake. But I don’t want it to be a mistake anymore.”

Coming Home For Us definitely deals with hard topics. Elijah losing Joy and the life they could have had. How he has to still get up everyday and function. How Maddie deals with the loss of her friend. Finding that spark of hope after such a tragedy is why I keep coming back to romance and why I will reread this one.

“And I tried to find a way through the unending grief that promised me nothing but pain and loss and memories that never went away.”

Of course it’s fun to catch up with the previous couples, the brother shenanigans and the girl gang that I want to be a part of! Now I will be impatiently waiting for East and Lark’s book!

Thank you to the author for an E-ARC in exchange for an honest review, all thoughts are my own. Coming Home For Us has a pub date of April 10, 2023.
