A series of unfortunate events, as well as the death of her entire family, has Jazmine fleeing her hometown to save herself and protect her unborn baby. The invisible threat that wiped out her family is still after her so, she’s unsure who she can trust. While she’s out eating dinner, an attempt is made on her life and in swoops Mr. Joshua “Body” Hunter. The way he came into Jazmine’s life was mesmerizing. This man was the true definition of a knight in shining armor. He immediately became Jazmine and Aria’s protector and had no problem tellin’ anybody, “I wish an MFer would” when it came to them. I loved how Joshua’s family embraced Jazmine and took her in as one of their own. Considering how she lost her family, she really need that familial connection. While I liked this book, I didn’t love it. There were several inconsistencies with certain parts of the story. For example, Joshua’s employment. We know he does what he does for the government but, he’s meeting with some random couple requesting his services for payment?!!! So, is he working for the government and doing his own thing on the side?!!! Is that even allowed?!!! Somehow, I think his side hustle would be frowned upon by the FBI. When Genesis’ pregnancy was announced, DK said she was having twins. After that, each time her pregnancy was mentioned, she was having one baby. They were never referred to as the babies or the twins. It was always, the baby. So, which is it?!!! This book severely lacked character and plot development. It started out pretty good but, the flow of the storyline became disjointed and certain parts weren’t fleshed out properly. Overall, The Body Hunter was a decent enough read but, as a whole, it could’ve been better.
