With her deeply personal songwriting, countless hit songs, and genre-bending yet unmistakable sound, Taylor Swift has cemented her status as one of pop music's most iconic and culture-defining voices.
On the heels of her latest album, "Midnights," this visually stunning book pays tribute to Swift's different eras as a musician, her sonic and aesthetic influences, personal inspirations, and the incredible community she has fostered among her international fanbase—all alongside dozens of full-color photos.
I don’t rate nonfiction, regardless of how little I read of it. But, I did enjoy reading this for sure!
I’m not a Swiftie by any means, but I have recently grown to really like Taylor’s music. Getting to read this was such a treat. From her music, to how she got started, her writing process, how she’s overcome such judgement from everyone in her life, I just think Taylor is really interesting to learn about.
All I have to say is, wow, what a woman. I totally understand why she is adored by millions of people. 👏🏻
Taylor Swift icon 🎤⭐️🪩~5 stars~ (23rd of December - 23rd of December) A fun read about the amazing Taylor Swift. Reading this thought me so many facts about Taylor. And what an amazing person she is
This book really could've used an editor. I'm not a SUPER fan, but I am a huge fan- ya know? So little details like forgetting 1989 needs a rerecord, Red being the 4th album not 5th, and other small details like that even remotely minor fans would catch as being wrong. That was annoying. And I get some stuff has changed between writing and publishing, but if your book was going to be considered out of date and "old news" potentially at publish maybe you should've used different language? Like calling Joe her boyfriend knowing full well they could break up, get married, or any number of other things, saying "boyfriend at the time" makes certain that life changes that happen to everyone won't make your book be out of date AT PRINTING.
For as many good pictures were in this book too there was a significant lack of pics in parts where pics would've added a great deal of content to the book. It feels like the author/ editor picked their layout and refused to deviate from that layout for anything, especially reader enjoyment. Such as in the chapter talking about her fashion and different eras of outfits. Instead of getting a pic or collage from every era of fashion discussed, or even pictures from all of her MET Gala looks, we instead got a weird pyramid of random rainbow looks. Boring. And they didn't even fit within any of the eras or fashion styles talked about. I wish they had asked someone who was really a fan of Taylor to look over this book and give their input to what fans would like to see/ make sure the facts were accurate. Before picking this up this title was going to be an instant buy, but I waited and got it from my library instead- something I'm very glad I did so I don't waste my money now.
idk if this should count as a book i read but wtv 😭 as a big swiftie this still had some cool information that i hadn’t heard about & quotes that i found interesting to read. it also highlighted the timelines of certain events big or small in her career + had good quality pictures lol
