This is the last of the series that I plan to read.
In this book, Dr. Samantha Jenkins is filling in at a clinic after the murder of the doctor who had run it for years. His wife is the office manager and likes Sam so much of course and begs her to stay on. Meanwhile, Sam finds evidence of a drug ring involving a common prescription medicine for hypothyroidism. Also gets involved in a domestic assault case.
Her meddling and snooping are always one way because she's so self-righteous and constantly uses the patient confidentiality card even though people are in imminent danger. She uses HIPAA as a shield when she could easily consult legal for info on whether her disclosures are allowed. Her sleuthing activities are laughable.
I can't stand the main character. She's wishy washy and has no clue of what she wants to do just drifting from one thing to another unwilling to do the necessary hard work to finish classwork, get a residency and find a job she might actually stick with. So done.
Having worked in both the medical and legal fields, I was immediately intrigued by this book, Dr. Samantha Jenkins temporarily takes over the office of a small town doctor who was murdered and finds herself caught up in a complex situation. She is a compassionate and skilled clinician, and it seems that everyone is anxious to have her take over the practice on a permanent basis. However, Sam encounters disturbing cases which trouble her from both diagnostic and ethical standpoints and could possibly even put her life in jeopardy. I thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of this story and admired Dr. Sam’s commitment to her patients and to discovering the truth. The plot is quite a rollercoaster ride from the medical office, to the police station and even to a courtroom; and I could not stop reading. I highly recommend Misguded Truth and am eager to see where Dr. Jenkins career path takes her next.
I just finished this book and I had a Hard time putting it down so was able to finish it two days. I loved all the twist and turns regarding all the mysteries that were taking place at the time. Dr. Sam. Jenkins seem to be a real person and everything she had to deal with was very hard. I am glad that she was able to figure out what was going on. It took almost to the last charpter for me figure out who was responisble for everything. II definitely will be reading more of Author Stephani E. Kreml books. I will recommend her books to all my friend enjoy a good mystery/
I couldn’t put the book down! This was a very well written page-turner! I really enjoyed the pace, the action and the perfect balance of intricate details, but not so many to be overloading. The characters were well written with depth. I really appreciated the way the FMC handled her patients- with care & compassion & humanity. I liked that she didn’t claim to know everything, but researched and worked to get the correct resolution. I look forward to reading more books by this author!
As per usual Stephanie Kreml gives us yet another excellent “whodunit”. The characters are all very well developed. Sam has come a long way both as a Dr and personally in her acceptance and compassion for those around her and her patients. Her future life choices will be interesting! Thanks again Stephanie!!
I loved this book after 1.5 pages! I’m not quite done but it is a really great read. It moves along nicely and I have not have any spots like some where it seems to slow down. And very easy to read. I’m impressed!!
I hope the author continues this series. Especially with the possibility of the lead character applying for the FBI. I was disappointed there was not another book in the series.
