Like so many love stories, they met on the job. Unlike most of those stories, they had never been in the same room.
Hazel Rogers is passionate about storytelling, and that zest for story leads her life. While enjoying a self-fulfilled existence in an idyllic mountain town, she works remotely as a Communications Specialist at FutureApp and strives to advance her career. She's also an engaged friend and member of the Crestwood book club, who meet to discuss their latest spicy romances every week.
When Hazel is assigned a major project which places her on a small team with her long-time mentor Sam, things start to heat up between them. Hazel knows they can never be in a relationship. They face so many HR concerns, not to mention living clear across the country from each other!
Is a relationship with someone she has never seen below the shoulders worth risking her career?
Don't miss the special bonus chapter linked in the book!
The book was decent. Not something I would read again. I thought there was too much work not enough romance and they they “got together” they went from 0-100 in like one sentence. It seemed very rushed. It needed more backstory on how he has lived here from day one.

I did not enjoy this book. I didn't like the execution of the work from home aspect of the book, which was the entire book. It made it so hard to see or feel the connection between the two love interests. I didn't feel the tension or see the love at all. I also didn't like the petty cattiness in this book between some of the female characters. It just seemed unnecessary. I also just found it odd that anatomically correct words were used during the spicy scenes. It was just weird.
Let me start by saying contemporary romance is not my usual genre, so it took me a minute to get hooked, but when I did, I WAS HOOKED.
I loved the drama of the “evil coworker” and the book is one of the most accurate portrayals of working in a corporate setting I’ve seen. It’s the only remote portrayal I’ve seen and it too is extremely accurate. It perfectly captures the “vague tasks with high stakes” nature of working in a corporation.
The characters were well fleshed out and felt believable. They were likeable and funny.
All in all, it was extremely relatable (as someone who has worked in a remote corporate setting and loves all the video games mentioned) and I very much enjoyed it.
This may be a weird compliment, but its one of the best written books I’ve read in a while—mechanically. I didn’t find much fault with the pace, grammar, structure, etc. I only noticed one mistake and it was a morning meeting they had where the time zone math was off by an hour. It was refreshing in how well written it was!
Was a little slow in the beginning for me but it did pick up and ended up being a cute book. I just wish there was more of the a story line for the two at the end and wasn't so rushed.
I loved reading this book. I laughed, I swooned and I fell in love.
Hazel lives a wonderful life, where she works remotely as a Communications Specialist at FutureApp. Hazel and her friends are members of the Crestwood book club, who meet to discuss their latest spicy romances every week.
Hazel finds herself assigned a life changing project which places her with her long-time mentor Sam. Its not long before the start a friendship that heats up between them. This courses concerns for Hazel, one its not allowed and not to mention living clear across the country from each other!
Loved, the perfect amount of heat, humour and pace.
As someone who has worked from home for a long time, there were so many relatable moments throughout the book. The storylines kept me guessing and wanting more. I struggled to put the book down.
It made me laugh, cry, say “WTH,” and more. I love the way Lori put the story together. It’s a fun and flirty read. Hazel will absolutely draw you in and Sam will…well he’s gonna heat you up.
What an awesome read. I literally couldnt put it down the first time I read it. Have read it cover to cover three times already and hungry for another read through! The characters were so relatable and I felt as if I knew each of them in my many remote jobs. The author nailed the work from home experience and the drama that comes with it!!
This was a different scenario than any other romance I've read. The distance/work from home beginnings was interesting. They got to know each other in an emotional and real way before anything physical happened. That was a refreshing difference from a lot of romance books.
It was really hard to get into. The beginning was very slow and very much focused on work from home. This book could be a work from home training guide. The romance was ok but felt rushed at the end.
I couldn’t put this book down. I was so invested in the story that I even got butterflies in my belly at certain points. I absolutely loved the MMC- he’s friendly, caring, and patient. I loved the writing style as well and felt that it was well-paced.
This was a first time read for me by this author and I absolutely loved it. Hazel works remotely as a Communications Specialist and she is looking to advance her career. She has an opportunity to work on a major project on a team with Sam, who was her longtime mentor. As they work together they strike up a beautiful friendship which doesn't take long to turn into something more. This was a fun, flirty, and cute story which had me engaged from start to finish. I enjoyed the plot and the storyline and I found the characters to be realistic and quite relatable. Filled with fun and laughs, this was a delightful book to read. I enjoyed it very much and look forward to reading more by this author. I received a complimentary copy from StoryOrigin and am voluntarily leaving my review.
Wow! This is a HOT read and you don't even have to work remotely to fall in love with the characters and the storyline! If you're ready to be hooked to a love story and page-turning drama, you'll want to pick up "Remotely Love!" Quick read because I just wanted to find out what happens next!
I absolutely loved the real-life tips and tricks for remote workers at the start of every chapter! With experience in remote work, it made me feel seen as an employee and also taught me a few new tricks I'll try as I work from home!
I highly recommend anyone that loves romance and humor to pick up this book for your next read and you won't regret it!
This book was a nice change from the typical workplace romance trope. I liked how the author utilized her work-from-home experience to create a realistic story. The tips on how to successfully work-from-home were a nice touch too! Although I am a sucker for happy endings, I wished there was a darker end: Sam or Hazel not being attracted to the other in-person, Sam actually having a partner, or both getting fired. I also feel that the solution to the HR issue was addressed too quickly. Outside of this, I thought the pacing was good, and I loved the description of Hazel's work life and personal life.

Great idea for a book in this remote society we are living in . Really enjoyed the book, getting to know the characters and their interactions I received an advance copy and my review is my own words voluntary
Enjoyed reading. Entertaining and probably mirrors quiet a lot of work life for people following pandemic lockdowns. I like the irony of people in a book reading
