Snake (Corporal Garcia) had suffered greatly during his time as a Marine in Afghanistan. He was captured while he was held prisoner his team tried to rescue him without success. He was tortured, burned, dogtags changed with another prisoner, and other unspeakable things. When he was finally rescued, he had no memory, and the marine wearing his dogtags did not survive. It took them months to discover who Snake really was sending home a far more angry bitter man than left. He had joined the military hoping it would help channel his anger. He saw psychiatrist, until he was sick of them, and he needed physical therapy on his leg for an injury before it put his in a wheelchair, but he was to stubborn to go which brought nurse, Chastity Garrington to his door. She was a trained physical therapist that served as a nurse in Afghanistan seeing action. When her medical unit was bombed, and she was also shot. She had another tragedy in her background that helped her relate to how he was feeling, but he did not need to know about it. She believed that every veteran deserved the best care possible so she was there to see he got it. All Snake really saw was how beautiful, she was, and what he wanted to do with her. Honestly, she was thinking the same thing, but she managed to stay professional exchanging barbs back and forth with him. He finally relented to completing a session, but before she left he padded her, they slept together. He did agree for his next session to be in the office. Snake had staked his claim on her, but she had strange things starting to happen that lead back to her past. When she had been kidnapped and held prisoner, but that man was in prison. The suspense was terrifying, with more than one mystery, intrigue, lots of action, romance, and a happily ever after. Two people with terrible tragedies in their past come together finding a form of comfort to heal the old wounds from the past allowing them to move forward. A beautifully written story that will keep you on the edge of your chair waiting to see what happens next.
