A laid-back entrepreneur and perpetual bachelor, Bass Reeves does everything his way, including satiating his physical needs.
Wendy ‘Winnie’ Sumter has always longed for a family of her own. She pours her energy and attention into her youth advocate program to fill the void.
When the two cross paths on horseback in their neighborhood, they quietly lust after each other for months. When they finally connect, they embark upon an unexpected ride of a lifetime. Ride along the rocky trail with Bass and Winnie as they ultimately find their happiness. Will they find it in each other, other people, or both?
The way I read the last 4 or 5 chapters of this book at 4am & it has me SOBBING 😭 😫🫣! I’m so soft! But this storytelling was so beautiful!
What I found out, is that if you put equestrians, dating, foster children, love, & marriage in one book, I turn into a crybaby! Whatever! There were so many beautiful moments in this story, & although there were parts that were goofy I LOVED Bass & Winnie’s story! I think it was the perfect ending to this series 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾!!
You all. I wrote a review earlier that was extra extra dope. But I cannot tell you what happened. But anyway, I loved this rough ride story which took me over rocky terrain and ended with my face grinning like a happy fool. The relationship between Bass and Winnie was the real thing. They fit like a pb&j sandwich when you're hungry for a treat. And the kids... My heart bleeds for kids needing a hug and love. The story had several emotional moments and times when a particular character named Bliss made me holler... But I know you will like this story.
Not your ordinary boy meets girl, falls in love, accidentally gets pregnant, gets married, the end.
Representation matters and I appreciate seeing 40+ ppl, with no kids (biologically), but are successful and happy. Building your family at a time that’s right doesn’t have an age. As a 40+ reader I appreciate seeing that.
After reading this third book of this wonderful series is I have to add Marlee Rae to my list of favorite authors. Bass and Winnie had me hollering and fanning 😂😂😂. I loved how the author skillfully infused the other characters from this series into this story. Needless to say the “Three” stole my heart 💜. And I really don’t know who had me laughing the hardest Jock Jr.Or Bliss/ Titus between the two of them , I laughed until I cried. Those two are funny as all get out.😂😂😂.
Bass and Winnie’s love story was not the norm and I loved every page of it ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Ms. Rae and I really do hope that Bliss will have a story where he meets someone who truly loves him and brings out the very best in him. He has a special place in my heart
My eyes are sweating too 🥹🤭‼️…Wow, what a great story‼️… Advocacy & representation matters more to the recipients than the providers. Winnie, Bass and a slew of family members & close friends rode hard for three teenaged siblings. … ”Ride (The Love Movement series) Book 3” transcended my initial thoughts (of a stereotypical bachelor living a free range lifestyle) for the direction of final installment of the series and the book’s storyline. However, “Ride” exceeded my expectations! The two plus three movement transformed the lives of three impressionable teenagers ..from fragments to family, The Reeves bridged the gap☺️🥹😍‼️
I absolutely loved this book. My eyes were sweating at the end like I really knew the kids. The way Bass loved Winnie was inspiring. Although, I side eyed Winnie a few times, I’m glad she got herself together. My parents fostered children while I was growing up and my mom worked with a program for troubled youth, so I saw a lot of my mom in Winnie in the way she advocated for the youth. The book has a lot of great teachable moments in it too. In the end love always wins.
I have read several of Marlee Rae’s books. I love her writing style. The stories are funny and interesting. I love how the characters are all tied together. Bliss has got to be the funniest character that I have ever encountered. I really enjoyed the relationship between Bass and Winnie and how a number of characters in Marlee’s books are able to find love in their 40’s and 50’s. This book made me laugh out loud. Thanks for sharing your stories.
Such a beautiful story. Nothing like I thought. It kept my interest from the 1st page. Bass was a real man and did real man things for his woman. Hie parents were a bit much but alls well that ends well with them. Winnie was a sweet and kids loving person. Even though she got on my nerves I still cared how she rolled. Really good read. Read non stop.
This was a fun and loving read. Winnie was a lot for a while so I was frustrated with her. Bass is a very patient man. As I stated before I love how this author will introduce storylines with great lessons.
I took away mental illness awareness and normalizing owning horses and also two different worlds coming together in love.
Ride grips your attention, gets you exhausted, and then makes you do a cool down to get your blood pressure back to normal. I enjoyed this 3rd addition to “The Love Moment.” Read it, you won’t be disappointed.
First time reading from this author, and Marlee Rae pulled at all the heart strings. I think if I tried, I'd give away spoilers, so instead, I'll just say, READ THE BOOK.
I have enjoyed this series. I'm waiting for a follow up. We need to get Bliss a real one lol. Jock Jr got his woman. Bass got Winnie and I won't tell the rest. Character development was great. Keep writing about Black love.
This book was amazing It was nice to see the old and new family dynamics. It was loving, funny, I laughed and cried so many wonderful emotions. I am so grateful for this book. It has been a minute since her last book but this was so well worth the wait. I hope everyone who reads this story will enjoy it as much as I did or even more.
Ride” is the last book in the “Love Movement” series and I don’t know how to feel about this! I got so spoiled reading these amazing stories, I don’t know if I’m going to be able to function as an adult moving forward. (Yes I’m being extra!)As usual, Marlee immediately captures my attention and she even had me spinning the block on this book because I couldn’t get enough. What impressed me the most about the book is that it features a community of Black equestrians in the DMV! I love how she manages to highlight Black people thriving in areas where we aren’t considered the majority. I loved the family dynamics of this book. The open relationship that Bass and Winnie have with their families impressed me. They didn’t hesitate to support nor call them to the carpet when needed. You know I have to mention their ages! In a community where there is a struggle to find older characters, Marlee Rae continues to step out of the box by writing couples in their 40s falling in love. If you’re a fan of the “found family” trope, this book will take you on an emotional journey of love , support and triumph. The author was able to combine all characters from the series with great character development, an amazing storyline, witty dialogue and tearjerking moments to create the perfect ending for this dynamic series. If you’re looking for a story about finding love and the comfort of family at any age, read this book.
