What to Expect:
➼ Fated Mates
➼ Vampire Underworld
➼ Court Politics
➼ Set in Venice
➼ Forbidden Magic
➼ Urban Fantasy
➼ Dual Narration
➼ First Person Multi POV

This was a decent ending to the series, but I’ve decided I just don’t like these characters. Thea’s character has always annoyed me because she makes lots of rash decisions and is constantly issuing challenges to people who could literally obliterate her in a blink. Adding a crown certainly didn’t slow her down. On the contrary, it felt like she now had license to act this way even though it was still just as dangerous for her to do so. She’s just really not my ideal FMC.

Julian bugs me almost as much though. He’s such a simp for her. It sounds nice in theory that he supports her unconditionally, but he knows much more about the Vampire world than she does. Just because he loves her doesn’t mean all of her ideas are good. There’s also an excessive amount of spice at inappropriate times and way too much inner monologuing about wanting to be “inside her” and such. Her magic is forbidden and people want to kill her, but the two of them are mainly just focused on finding a dark alley to drag each other into.

I honestly forgot that the Vampires had locked away magic and now I’m reevaluating the last Filthy Rich Fae book I read. I’m trying to decide if the magic they used in that book would have been available without them freeing the magic in this one… 🤔 Looking forward to the crossover foreshadowed in that one!

This final book did feel a lot more polished than the previous two, and I was pretty happy with the ending. I didn’t have nearly as many unanswered questions this time around, so I’m counting it as a win. I don’t like this series nearly as much as the Filthy Rich Fae series, but I’m glad I saw this one through to the end! I could see some of the side characters getting their own book and I’d probably still read those too. 🤷🏼‍♀️ What can I say? I’m weak and I read too much. 😂

✼ ҉ ✼ ҉ ✼ ҉ ✼ ҉ ✼ ҉ ✼ ҉ ✼

Pre-read: I doubt even Teddy Hamilton can save this mess, but I’m too far in to turn back now. 🙃🧛🏼

Well, you can't say that I didn't try 💀

-=- Series Overview -=-
Book 1: Filthy Rich Vampire: 5 stars
Book 2: Second Rite: 4 stars
Book 3: FRV: Three Queens: 2 stars (💀)
Book 4: FVR: For Eternity: 1 star (DNF)

-=- General notes & Thoughts -=-

I'm going to mark this one as a DNF, just because I stopped 'properly' reading at 16%, and pretty much just skimmed everything after that- so I do know how this book ends.

I'm going to keep this quite short because my whole thought process surrounding this book is basically the exact same thing as my thoughts on book 3.

To sum it up: I was just overall really disappointed with how this series turned out (which you can see by my ratings above 💀). It's really frustrating to get attached to a story and characters and to just continuously see them not live up to what you know they could be like. Also, the editing in this book was not good 😭.

This whole book, like the previous one, was filled with SO much unnecessary drama and filler content- it just got old. There was so much being added to this for no particular reason, and I just lost interest. It was so disappointing.

Oh wait: let's talk about my favourite thing ever: ✨The Multiple POVs ✨

There were THREE different main romances that were simultaneously going on throughout this book, and we got to experience it from everyone's individual POV! What fun! 😋 Might as well forget about Thea and Julian atp 💀.

I mean don't get me wrong, it wasn't enough to rival Zodiac Academy (iykyk), but it was still enough that it took away from the whole experience.

It just doesn't make any sense to me that these side characters are getting whole plot points to themselves when they're already going to get their own books.

-=-

Anyways this whole book was filled with random plot points, and just didn't feel like reading about the characters that I really cared about. There was still drama going on 98% into the book 🤡.

In relation to the 'ending'- it just didn't feel complete to me. It turns out there's going to be a book 5 (in addition to 2 spin-off books) 🤠🔫 .

I can't do this anymore this book broke me 💀 Screw that, I won't be reading any of them 😭 IM OUTTTT 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

-=-
The moral of this was that I'm just going to ahead and pretend that the first two books were the only ones released. Books 3 & 4 (and however many others) don't exist in my eyes.

Book 3 felt like a fever dream in which everything was thrown at the wall. This one felt like someone trying to color with every crayon in the box. Less is indeed more and this series whimpered to an end weighed down by the author's inability to show some restraint. Like a kitten tangled in a ball of yarn, the end was cute but very frustrating.

There's a spinoff coming, but I'm not enough of a sadist to follow. For me it ends here.

The longest book - but possibly the worst one? JFC. 2 stars, and I'm being nice.
*SPOILERS AND MATURE CONTENT*

PROS
- First moment where im finally like ‘okay gagged!’ Is pg 182 where Sabine chooses Jacqueline to fight Camila to the DEATH in her place - Jacqueline has to fight her ex girlfriend??? To the death??? When they're still in love.
- Jacqueline and Camila end up together.
- Sabine, just as a character, they don't deserve you legend.

CONS
- I’m putting this one at the top because it’s maybe the worst - how anticlimactic the Rites have been. You’re telling me that the first Rite included snakes, the second Rite was literal psychological torture, but the third one was just to go to a party with a mask on? Are you for real? Four books spent hyping up the ‘The Rites’ and their importance, their dangerous nature in being the ultimate test of a relationship etc, constantly warning Thea that there were more to come, and then in the final 100 pages of the book the third Rite is literally just a big extravagant party they attend in special masks that reveal their 'true form' (but nothing happens as a consequence) and give them another location to fuck. The Third Rite was essentially used as a convenient plot device to have all the characters in the same location for the big boss battle fight that happens.
- Thea I swear to god you cannot be this stupid - you’re desperate a wear jeans to your first time publicly ascending the throne???? And then you’re shocked when Aurelia is like 🤠 erm maybe not
- there is literally no one less suited to be queen what do you mean she just threw away a massive rule within 24 hours of being queen and caused a literal RIOT in the court after Julian had made a massive display to get them on her side that WOULD have worked too oh my goodness her stupidity knows no bounds! How dare you 🤦🏻‍♀️ honestly would not have been disappointed if someone had just assassinated her for that on the spot (for context there are three queens and they don’t allow men to rule by their side bc they would demand to be king and literally unravel the matriarchy but she’s like uwu Julian is my equal come sit on the throne to make a massive political statement)
- Also this whole insistence on him being your equal is so stupid? Sure you can have mutual respect for each other between yourselves but he doesn’t HAVE to be your political equal, especially not for the sake of disrupting an entire ancient system of people that ALREADY want to kill you. The fact that she says “I’d expected the crowd to protect me” - WHY WOULD THEY???
- I'm actually starting to believe that Julian is insanely in love w her bc she’s a siren and he has no choice.
- Speaking of being a siren, there is literally zero consequence from the fact that in book 3 Willem tried to start her transformation to a succubus; he just made her drink blood for a bit and it was like oh okay well it didn't work.
- Julian denies the accusation that Thea is ‘too precious to get her hands bloody’ but let’s be real she hasn’t fought anyone in the whole series without Julian intervening or her using magic.
- Calling it now at page 220 the bad queen is gonna be Mariana (reveal: it was in fact Mariana. We know there's one good queen and one bad queen - shock horror! It was the "nice" queen that turned out to be bad, rather than the one that seemed really cold)
- I swear they did not just randomly run off to Cuba in the middle of a brewing war whilst half the population has a bounty on her head… what the actual fuck
- Pg 256 - she’s getting rlly pissed at him for trying to help her down the sand dune, she literally falls and breaks her ankle and is still mad at him? He was right?
- They shag like six times a day, he tells her he thinks she’s pregnant and she’s like ‘nope not possible’ - it’s very possible???
- Okay. Page 294. It has finally clicked for me: the essence of this entire series. You know that one scene in game of thrones where the woman says “you want a nice girl but you need the bad pussy”, and the entire fandom has agreed it’s possibly the worst line in the entire show?? THAT is the true essence of this series. I have finally perfectly placed it. I read the line “just wondering if it’s normal to be this turned on by you acting like a badass daddy” and I knew.
- just saying, at the midnight masquerade thing for the Third Rite when everyone was transforming into their animal ‘true selves’ (basically a choppy version of spirit animals), I said out loud “I bet she’s going to be a phoenix, cringe”. Lo and behold, she was indeed a phoenix. I get it, but it’s soooo on the nose the whole ‘rising from the ashes thing’ - not to mention done to death.
- Julian intends to ‘sacrifice himself’ on page 385 but it doesn’t serve its purpose as this massive chivalrous thing because if he dies she dies (and their baby) bc of the sharing a soul thing - Julian would not do this after spending four books protecting her life
- THE DEATH-GOD THING. Omg. So basically halfway through the book it's randomly revealed that there's a monster (the death-god) going around and killing vampires, which just shows up at the Third Rite - basically just a convenient plot device for Thea to use her powers and prove that she's learnt how to harness her magic. There isn't even a back-and-forth combat with it, it just shows up and she opens a hole in the ground with magic and it's gone. The existence of this 'monster' should have been woven in legend or rumours right from the first or second book at least, this was the most random thing to appear with zero build-up or plot relevance whatsoever, just convenience.
- Willem being in the room right there after she kills the 'monster' to deal with again conveniently
- She’s unconscious for a week and conveniently wakes up a day before the wedding. +1 sin.
- Her mum who apparently knows abt everything and hates the vampire world just sits back whilst all this goes on? You spent 20 years protecting her, hiding her and lying to her just to be like oh well she’s run off with a vampire and is a queen of magic better leave her to it so she can get assassinated??
- In a world where the norm is a matriarchy and tradition is for the husband to take the wife’s last name… her ultimate act of defiance is to take his last name instead? Even in fantasy fiction we can’t escape the patriarchy of our world 🤩 well done Thea for reinstating it - considering you spend the whole book preaching about being equals you think you’d insist on a double barrel.
- Her human friends from the first book are literally just forgotten and never mentioned - they're not even at the wedding? She spends the first book super angsty over leaving her human friends and her old life behind, her literal best friends/roommates that apparently mean so much again and they're never seen or mentioned again after the graduation party.
- after spending the final book building up this romance between Lysander and Aurelia, we literally don't even get a final scene of them together. Especially when the thrones have been disbanded which means that Aurelia is no longer bound to her purity vow that stopped them being together - we literally could have had a short chapter where they realise they can be together now.
- this book could have been 100 pages shorter if they stopped shagging for one goddamn second oh my goodness. It was the worst in this book idc, it got so repetitive it wasn't even exciting anymore - if you're that desperate to write it, give us a Jacqueline/Camila sex scene? Or Lysander and Aurelia? I am SO BORED of Julian and Thea.
- Hadrian and laurel suddenly being at the wedding but we never get the answer we’ve been asking for multiple books - where tf were they??? Again just for the sake of a convenient ending, one of the book’s massive build-up moments is reduced to a few simple sentences - ah right they were at a faraway vampire private school that’s fine then.
- You’re telling me a big fat vampire wedding is somehow exactly the same as a white wedding in the human world? There are so many better cultures to take wedding customs from, and I feel like extravagant vampires would love that - even if we use the excuse that the Rousseaux family are Italian/French, where were those customs? and regardless, Sabine and Jacqueline planned this wedding and it wasn’t even a massive vampire event??? You're telling me vampires have no blood rituals or other vampire traditions at their weddings??? Again the wedding was just a stage for the (second) boss battle that then happens.
- the author refers to people as "males" and "females" throughout to assert that vampires arent humans bc she clearly doesnt want to use "man/woman", but it reads so badly. "I'm not the male I was/the female approaches me/the males over there" it just reads weird imo. Just say 'the vampire' or 'the male vampire' or something; however, I don't think referring to them as 'man/woman' would have made the reader suddenly think they're mortal.
- across 4 books there is ZERO comment from thea about her shock and experience going from the patriarchy of the real world into this society where women are respected?? if any regular human girl suddenly entered a matriarchy that would literally change your entire life how is there zero commentary about how odd and strange it is to be respected as a woman and to have all your societal norms shifted in the space of a few months.
- “And that was why the throne had chosen me. Because I didn’t want it.” Girl. You will never be Jon Snow.

on the series as a whole, I feel like this went in such an odd direction? in SUCH a short space of time - in the first book we have this human x vampire forbidden romance and we establish that they have to pass The Rites to get approval, okay cool, but then it turns into this entire rogue story about the fate of magic/three queens and in fact Thea was always destined to ascend the throne and the Rites are barely an afterthought.
This is a lesson in not trusting a pretty cover. But at least it will look nice on my shelf, I guess.

Thea and Julian  are one of my favorite paranormal powerhouse couples. I would have devoured this in a day if I had had the time. I'm so down for the MC's journey together.  The bonus is all the extra side stories sprinkled in. So excited to learn there is another book and spin-off in the future.

Where do I start...

The first one was so lovely, it had almost everything I wanted, and with each book it just kept getting worse and worse...
I seriously think this series should have ended by the end of book 2.

It just keeps getting more and more cringe from there on. I am not a fan of fated mates for one reason, calling each other "mate", because it sounds... hillarious. And that's not the worst thing.

Thea became a thousand different supernatural creatures at once in the span of one book, all the while she didn't really work with any of those qualities, still being the damsel for most of the time.

The ending felt like way too many things happening at once. You never learn where Camilla's children were hidden, what happened to Thea's human friends that the author seems to have forgotten about, and in the end, you don't learn anything about the Mordicum, which was a huge deal up until now.
The series feels incomplete.

Not only that but all the smut scenes were identical, all of them started with Julian on his knees, and in all of them was a dramatic scene about declaring love for eternity, "please don't leave me"s and so on. It felt boring and repetitive and this last book was more or less a suffering I had to endure to be done with this story, which started so well but in the end, was executed terribly.

2⭐️ god this was painful to finish.

Honestly this felt like a clusterfuck. There was so much going on. Too many POVs, too many bad guys, too many side plots. This ended chaotically and not in a fun way.

The spice was boring, I found myself wanting to skip over a lot of the inner dialogue, everything was very repetitive… I’m having a hard time finding reasons for why I finish this… but I did… I had higher hope for this and I’m very disappointed.

There were some sweet moments between Julian and Thea and I can appreciate the set up for a potential spin off with a couple of the side characters. But I won’t be reading any more of this… no thank you.

There was a lot to love in this story. I really liked Thea and Julian and his family really shined in this one. BUT the story was not the satisfying ending I needed. It sets it up for the spin off series and it was so obviously not complete to leave it open for that series. So much so it affected this ending. This final book in the series should have been great. It was going to be pretty epic. Then it all felt useless and kind of pointless and so unsatisfying.

Honestly, the best part in this story ended up being the side characters. Thea’s mom ends up with Lysander and Aurelia were my favorite to read about!! I can’t wait for them to show up later. The introduction of the Fae Prince Bane was also fun to read about. But again, it was a giant introduction to the spin off series. So bleh.

I’m still glad I read it and finally finished but wished it had its own clear ending. I wished it was more satisfying than it was.

I still really enjoyed this one but I feel like it dragged sometimes and the ending was rushed.

But I loved this series and the characters. I really hope we get the brothers books especially Lysander!!

1.5 🌟

I loved the first two in this series, the third lost the plot and moved a complete different direction with Greek methology. This final one continued the methology path, has way too many POV's, we get Thea, Julian, his brother, Jacqueline and Camilla. There's so many things happening all at ones but we also forget things that happened.

In the previous book when Thea got kidnapped she got turned into some kind of vampire that can't handle sunlight at all, but we instantly forgot it and it's never mentioned again.

I loved the first because it was a girl falling for a rich guy that needed to marry, lot of courtship and trials before getting to marry. I don't know why we went a Greek methology path with queens, controlling magic etc and Thea from a human instantly accepts she's a siren and a queen with a lot of power, she got so arrogant. And Julian al "El Flagello" some assassin for the throne in his past, it got mentioned so many times that you can't forget his new nickname.

Than there's the smut, there is so damn much of it and it's not even good and mostly the same.

Started skimming this for the dialog to just be done with it. Sad to see a series I fell in love with become something I hated towards the end.

Forewarning: this is not good, spoilers included.

Words cannot describe how utterly disappointed I am with this series.

Book one stole my reading heart, book 4 shattered it (or rather, threw it into a hole like the death-god, cuz yk, thats how we make things truly go away???)

This is awful. This book is poorly written and edited for starters. The characters are INSUFFERABLE. And the story is just… absolutely abysmal. There really is no other way to put it.

This gal gets made a queen and CANNOT FATHOM why its weird that she cant wear jeans?????????? WHY ARE YOU SO FIXATED IN JEANS AND TSHIRT?!?! ITS WEIRD?! All throughout this series shes constantly on about fucking jeans and tshirts i fucking cannot deal with it 😭😭 i have nightmares about fucking jeans and tshirts now, thanks thea.

Her mum strolls up out the blue says some stuff and just goes, yeah deuces, ill leave you to probably be assassinated now?

WHY ARE THEY IN CUBA?!?!???????????!??!?1?1?

The random death-god thing??? Surely something so awful would have some level of preface??? Some foreshadowing in other books?? Some level of lore??? ANYTHING?! No. Of course not. Because it exists for all of about half a page before it just falls into a hole in the floor and isnt spoken of again :)

I also saw someone else mention it and it made me realise that im not insane; willem trying to turn her into a succubus really did just have no consequences? She started the transformation and then she didnt transform but it literally wasnt addressed ever???

This really fucked me up so i feel like i need to raise it again; WHY THE FUCK ARE THEY IN FUCKING CUBA????

And speaking of fucking: theres too much fucking in this book, i can only take so much and its really pissing me off when i want just one chapter, just ONE, to focus on the story but NOPE theyre having sex 5 times in a row. Like cmon to be extra critical lets be somewhat realistic here, no WAY do you have the stamina for that my man? Really? Your walking around a museum thing and ur just gonna fuck her in basically every room?? No, i think not, pull ur pants up sir this is a wendys.

The kids??? Just appear and we dont even find out where they came from.

The “evil queen” is obviously not the mean one. Was fucking obvious itd be the nice one. Wasnt even well hidden considering it was supposed to be a shock factor.

I have more but honestly i just cant. I want to throw this book away. I have never experienced a let down like this and I read credence 😭😭😭

Anyway; im done. My advice is dont read this book. Ull want to eat ur own eyeballs.

DNF!!! At 70%

I gave the other books in the series 5 stars so...what happened? (Before going forward I want to stress that this is the first book I have DNF'd all year. It is extremely rare for me).

The plot was completely lost. Book 3 was when I really felt like things were being thrown at the wall, but knowing this book was coming I was assuming that it would tie everything together. It hasn't. I got 70% of the way through and the author is still just throwing random things in. A whole new magic species. What.

It really feels like the author wrote herself into some corners that she's trying to back out of. This series should have been a duology or maybe a trilogy -50% of the plot that was being thrown in. If she would have just stuck with the og rite plot it would have been so good.

Let's not even talk about the fact that sirens and vampires should never ever have kids because apparently they'll be these horrible things (that's literally all that is said), but our girl is...not a horrible thing?? She's literally half vampire half siren so why can't she have a kid??

I'm 70% of the way through OF THE LAST BOOK and she's just now getting a magic lesson? Bffr. This was so bad it's making me reconsider my other ratings. :(

Well, I finished and though I'm glad I got my closure and will definitely read this author in the future this last book was my least favourite of the entire series. I think maybe this series was dragged out for far too long and that it just didn't need four books. I believe that is why it may have started to feel somewhat repetitive. Though I've rated this lower than previous books it was still mostly an enjoyable experience and I'm glad I picked up this series as overall it was a good time.

If you're after a paranormal vampire romance that gives you all of the feels and some heart-stopping soul mate vibes this one has you covered in spades. Julian and Thea are actually adorable together it just can also get a bit too much at times. Finally, we have some additional developing side stories that are also going on which I wasn't sure how interested I was in. Overall though this managed to round things off and though the finale felt a tad rushed it did provide the necessary closure.

The only reason I didn’t DNF this book is because it’s almost the end of the year and I didn’t want this book to be my first. If you like urban fantasy that has EVERY. SINGLE. TROPE in it, then this is for you. 2 stars for the yearning between Aurelia and Lysander, and that’s it.

I truly enjoyed this series. I do feel the ending lacked full closure due to them not sharing everything in regard to the baby. I was an expecting an epilogue “ 5 years later” type thing where more information was shared. So that was a little disappointing. But overall I enjoyed the series.

Mated King and Queen

Thea was chosen by the empty throne at the seat of all magic to became the third queen in the triune of Le Regine. As she discovers her own magic, Thea and Julian have little time to enjoy their mated bond, as the Council requires them to attend the Third Rite, Thea’s coronation has yet to occur and they have not yet had their big fat vampire wedding. To top it all off, there may be yet another important congratulations on the horizon for the royal couple.

Thea, never one to do things by the book, seats her mate with her on the throne intending to share her power. This causes untold controversies among all the factions of vampire kind, and Julian spirits her away for a pre-wedding vacation. While away, members of the council tried to murder the royals, but Julian’s family come to the rescue.

The tension between Sabine the matriarch and her own daughter comes to a head when Camila challenges Sabine for the matriarchy. Sabine calls her bluff by using Julian’s best friend Jaqueline as her champion. Camila’s life will never be justified and at peace until Sabine tells her where her children are, and Sabine can’t do that until Camila’s terrible husband is dead. The Council seems to be involved in deeper conspiracies than anyone can imagine, and Sabine has been forced to resign and can no longer watch their machinations.

Everything comes to a magical and terrifying head in this exciting and romantic climax to the Filthy Rich Vampire saga. If you like twisted stories of magic and lovers that have found their one true love that they can’t live without, this series is for you. Love done with an artist’s touch is always magical, and Geneva Lee painted an exquisite portrait of love, betrayal and adventure in every romantic port in the world. Don’t miss it!

DNF

Shockingly it wasn’t due to the multiple POV, I actually preferred a fresh writing style because all Julian and Thea do is fuck. Every. Single. Chapter!
Normally that would be great but it was boring and repetitive. Especially the use of the word molten. Thea was always fucking molten 🙄

Also, you could tell this was a last ditch attempt with this franchise because now the Fae have been introduced. Basic fantasy writing much?!

I am beyond disappointed with this ending.

Geneva, you should have stopped at 2 😒

Smut: 🌶️🌶️ loads of sex but it’s the same boring scene repeated over and over and over again

4.5⭐

Really good finale to this series! The plot kept on twisting right until the very end! Couldn't put it down, it was well written and just kept me captivated until the very last chapter! 🖤

Thea really found her place in her new family and found her own strenght. She has grown so much in this series. Julian has been just ✨perfect✨. Their love is just so strong and real.

Some chapters were heartbreaking. But it all came together so well in the end. I even didn't really mind the pregnancy trope bit. Which says A LOT for me 🤯

I did want a little bit more of Camila and Jacqueline's story. Their end felt a little rushed. Would've loved a couple more chapters with their POV. 👀

Same goes for Lysander and Aurelia. But maybe we see them in Filthy Rich Fae?! I'd love that! Because there's a lot more to them than we got in this book. I'm pretty sure they have to be mates! 🥹
