Fae Revealed #3

Loving Demons

Rate this book
Nothing worth getting is ever easy.

I think that’s how the saying goes.

I could definitely do with a little easy right now, though it doesn’t seem to be in the cards.

Surrounded by murder, espionage, and men far too sexy for their own good, every day is a whirlwind. Even my newfound powers may not be enough to help as enemies slither from the shadows.

Things with my guys are heating up, and new revelations are on the horizon as we explore each other and try to find our balance in this world.

But when one of my own is taken from me, I must embrace a side of myself I didn’t know existed. I’ll do anything and everything to ensure the survival of the men I’ve grown to care for.

But am I strong enough to fight against threats I can’t even begin to comprehend?

Do I have what it takes to save those I love, the men considered demons by the rest of the world?

I’m beginning to realize that I love my demons—but maybe to protect them, I’ll have to embrace the ones inside of my own mind.

Loving Demons is book three of the Fae Revealed series. This is a reverse harem romance, meaning the FMC won’t have to choose only one man to end up with at the end of the series. This book contains strong language, sexual situations, and scenes some readers may find triggering. Please see the front of the book for a detailed list of triggers. Loving Demons will end in a minor cliffhanger.

This series deserves more hype because it is GOOD. I happened to read the first 2 books earlier this week and didn't even realize that book 3 was coming out on March 3 (yay--love that luck!). I'd highly recommend this book to anyone who likes reverse harem and/or paranormal romance. It's fucking good. That said, check your trigger warnings because there are a ton in this series (sexual assault, rape {one of the MMCs is a victim}, torture, murder, knife play, BDSM, whip play, blood play, biting, stalking, etc.).

The world-building in this series is really great, and it's part of the reason that I am enjoying this so much. I loved how anyone can be seelie or unseelie, and genetics don't matter in determining your species. There are sooo many different species, and it's fun to read about everyone being so different.

I really love the FMC, Serafina, in these books. She's awesome and I love how bloodthirsty she is. V was a very good addition to the guys because he matches her psychopath (and raises her one tbh). My only complaint is that I wish the authors would stop emphasizing how tiny she is. It kinda creeps me out that in one paragraph, they're having people mistake her for being a middle schooler, and in the next paragraph, there are 7 grown ass men lusting over her. There has definitely been less of that as the series has gone on, but it definitely happened in book 1 a few times.

I really, really love the guys in this book. Here's a little breakdown of the men in Sera's harem:
Tristan (the werewolf): has such happy puppy energy, and it made me so sad to see him so depressed in this book. He is the younger brother of Xander and Devyn, and he is cousins with Kian.
Kian (the incubus): Poor Kian has been through so much trauma. Everyone thought he was enjoying how everyone would always touch him and objectify him because he's an incubus and it must be in his nature since he must love sex. It broke my heart to read his POV about losing all his friends and the years he has been subjected to unwanted touches and sex. I am honestly loving watching Tristan, Gage, and Foster grovel to him for abandoning him as his best friends after his revelation.
Foster (the fire elemental): I like Foster, but he's probably the least exciting of all the guys, and I care the least about him. He's the nice and nerdy one, but apparently he has an insane temper that makes him lose control of his flames. I'm excited to see that happen eventually because right now I feel kinda blah about him.
Gage (we don't know his species yet, but he can heal anything in the human body): Ok, we really need to learn what species Gage is. I get it, he's terrifying and everyone is afraid of him, and he's so excited when Sera isn't afraid of him (which is cute), but like, we need to know what he is and stop with the subtle hinting and internal monologue about how Sera will reject him when she finds out his species. We are 3 books in. Let's share with the class. It's very clear that at some point he lost control of his powers and something happened to his dad (my guess is his dad was abusive or something). I also want his mom to get what's coming to her--she fucking sucks. Finally, sweet Gage is also a virgin, and I really wanted Sera to be with him before any of the other guys, especially after all their dirty innuendo texts between each other. I hate when my plans don't work out.
Xander (can manipulate shadows--not sure if there's a name for it): Xander is the really put together hot older guy who has control issues and wears a suit (gives off serious North Draven vibes tbh). He is definitely a kinky one, although we haven't seen too much yet. He is also Tristan's older brother, Devyn's twin, and Sera's teacher. He can't be with Sera yet because he's her teacher, but it's addicting watching them interact at school. He uses his shadows to stroke her during class and makes her call him "Sir," and it's this kind of foreplay that I'm here for.
Devyn (vampire with empath abilities) I like Devyn but feel like we need more of him with Sera. He is Xander's twin, Tristan's older brother, Kian's cousin, and he is working with Sera's parents and brothers for the FIB (basically the Fae FBI) on the big serial killer plot throughout the series. He has a lot of scenes where he's thinking about Sera, but his scenes mostly take place at crime sites or in the FIB office. I think this is because he's the only one of the guys who can push along the serial killer plot and give more time on page to her family, but I honestly don't really feel his connection with Sera yet, despite him being the first one that she had sex with.
V (angel of death and the crown prince): V is fucking insane, and I'm here for it. He is absolutely obsessed with Sera. He makes me laugh out loud. He is feared by literally all of fae society because he legit gets off on torture, and I loved that Sera's other mates are even a lil afraid of him LOL

Overall, I'm loving this series. I do wish that the slowburn could pick up the pace a little bit. We are 3 books in, but Sera just learned at the end of this book that these 7 guys are her fated mates, and then she finally had sex with one of them. The smut is very very good and spicy though. We just need a bit more of that.

I think partly to blame for the uber slowburn is the fact that there are soooo many side characters. In my opinion, when you have a harem of 8 people, you can't really keep adding side characters because then some of the main 8 characters suffer for it by not getting enough time on page. For example, I felt like we didn't get too much of Kian/Gage/Foster/Tristan in this book, and they keep being portrayed as little boys which I don't love. Those 4 (who are actually Sera's classmates) are definitely in last place right now in terms of chemistry with Sera. V definitely gets the most page time because he's always stalking Sera and she trains with him every day. However, between Candy, Avril, the Queen, the Lords and Ladies, Charise, Adele, Boss, Caleb, Maddox, Foster's dad, Gage's mom, Sera's parents, Ms. Summers, etc., there are just too many side characters and detract too much attention away from the guys/Sera.

I also cannot WAIT to read about Candy's reaction when she finds out that all 7 guys are Sera's mates. I like that Sera wasn't blindly making excuses for her and thinking she's her friend when she so obviously hates Sera and is being fake. I hope she gets what's coming to her.

Anyways, I'm rambling. Everyone should read this. It's really good. I can't wait for book 4. This shit is addicting.

We finally got a full spicy scene!! And it was with two of her men!! And we learn something about all of her men of how important they are to her. There was a cute date with two of her men (not the same ones she had spicy time with). We get to see another extension of her powers. There was kidnapping and torture. There was more mystery about the big bad in the story, and a cliffhanger regarding this mystery. It had me like, 'No way!' *jaw dropped*. I can't wait to see how their story continues and to see her be with the rest of her men.

Favorite quotes/scenes:

-"He's so handsome, it sometimes hurts to look directly at him—I imagine it's similar to tilting your head back and staring up at the sun. Blinding. Intoxicating. Dangerous." (Sera talking about Kian)

-"Fuck me. Did she just pull a knife out of her bra?" (Kian)
"I'm more concerned about why I think that's hot." (Foster)

-"Sera own me—heart, body, and soul. Everything that I have to offer is hers to take." (Devyn)

-"She always makes me feel so...giddy, as if there are a thousand butterflies being set loose in my stomach. (Gage)

-"She needs to know that she has a group of men who will kill for her. Die for her. Tear their souls from their chests and lay then at her feet. People who will never leave, never allow her to falter." (Xander)

-"Kitten, use your knives on me any day you want. You can try to kill me every day if you just stop crying. Or let me kill the cause." (V)

-"I'm entirely lost for this girl, lost in her and she doesn't even know it." (Kian)

-"People are oddly attached to their...body parts." (V)
"What body parts were you threatening?" (Sera)
"All types! Cocks, arms, legs, heads, fingers, toes, knees..."
"Knees?" (Gage)
"Yes, knees. Must I repeat myself?"

The plot keeps thickening

Holy moly! What a cliffhanger that I totally saw coming… and I’m sure V saw it coming too (iykyk 🤣)

I don’t want to give any spoilers but I’m absolutely loving our fmc and her men’s story. Hearing Sera’s inside thoughts and point of view was completely hilarious and also relatable. She’s such an interesting character who’s a bad*ss but also innocent… if that makes sense? Anyways, there’s A LOT going on and she has a lot to work through, especially trying to figure out her powers (which I can’t wait to see.)

This is a brilliant slow burn. If you were hoping for spice then expect the unexpected because we FINALLY get some action lol.

Can’t wait for the next installment!!

This is a good series, I'm dropping it because it's been months since I started book 3 and I was never able to get back into it. It had nothing to do with the story I just went into a book slump and started book hoping a lot. Now too much time has passed and my mind is too distracted to try and remember what was going on before I pressed pause on this series. Maybe someday in the future I can do a re-read? For now, I need to get it out of my library.

It sometimes sucks to prefer paperbacks over ebooks. I could have read this book weeks ago already but I was waiting for the paperback to be released and last week I all of a sudden saw on Amazon that the paperback was available. I ordered my copy right away and of course I had to dive in as soon as possible. I absolutely loved the first two books in the series and I was really excited to see how the story would continue.

Let me start with getting this issue of my chest. I understand that no-one dreams of being in a wheelchair. I understand that people prefer running and walking. But I wish we'd really stop with the narrative that wheelchairs are "prisons" and "limiting freedom". My wheelchair GIVES me freedom. Thanks to the wheelchair I can do things I can't do without. My wheelchair is everything but a prison. And if that message would be written down and shown on television more often, maybe ending up in a wheelchair wouldn't be a cause for suicidal thoughts anymore. It's not the end of your life, it's not the end of your freedom, it's not the end of going places. It's an amazing invention when standing and/or walking are either impossible or very hard. So yes, those few pages actively HURT. I wish I had never read them and I wish authors would stop writing them. And if you write them, please insert a character countering the narrative instead of inserting a character promising to do everything to keep her out of a wheelchair. Staying out of a wheelchair is NOT a goal. Learning to see that the wheelchair doesn't change you as a person, doesn't limit your worth or imagination and is not the end of your freedom and independence. THAT'S THE GOAL. And media (fiction and non-fiction) play a big part in changing the view on wheelchairs and people in wheelchairs. This book is not helping. On the contrary.

Apart from those few pages I really enjoyed the book. Our heroine has a lot of guys to take care of and I have to admit that also in this case seven seems a few too many. I feel like some characters are getting a lot more attention in this book than others. However, I really enjoy getting so many chapters from the guys' point of views. It really helps to connect with them, to understand how different they are and to fall a little bit in love with them too.

The plot is progressing quite slowly though. If you need your books with a lot of plot this might not be the series for you but if you can enjoy the ride, can enjoy the characters growing and learning and can enjoy getting answers very slowly it's totally worth the wait. The reveal in the end was amazing, although I did have an inkling already by then, and I really can't wait to discover what's waiting for us in the next book.

4.5/5 ⭐️’s this is such a fabulous series and I’m SHOCKED it hasn’t taken over booktok. This book series needs more recognition because it’s a dang PNR reverse harem/academy setting. It gives major Tessa Hale vibes!!

Absolutely obsessed with this series. I’m practically salivating for the next book.

✅ humor (the dynamic between V and Sera is a goldmine)
✅ knife wielding FMC with an insanely bloodthirsty yet supportive family.
✅ psychopath
✅ golden retriever
✅ grumpy sunshine
✅ nerd galore
✅ shy introvert shoved into extrovert expectations
✅ hot professor with control issues and a whip kink

This book has all the things. I would say it’s a solid high slow burn/early medium burn. Spiciest scene happens in book 3, but there’s plenty of play before then. Definitely a found family dynamic. No bullying.

My only complaint is that it’s not a finished series and I’m left wanting for the next book.

Oh that hurt, I felt that pain. I also felt good things, but a book that can convey the emotions of such complex situations and trauma and get me nodding with a yes, that's it, those words just there explained so much for my own world. A great book and we got some smut too woohoo!!!!

I have been reading this through an audiobook book but that ending and cliffhanger. I can't wait and I know I will devour the next book!!

This review is for all three books. Narrators were good.

As for the story. I liked the first one the best. The second and third just felt too… disjointed?? In some ways it felt like I was reading a different story after the first book. The FMC grated on me - the mix of violent and darkly sexual with innocent, virginal, cutesy girl made zero sense. It didn’t feel like a nuanced character but rather the author just didn’t seem clear on who she wanted the FMC to be. I’m sorry but a girl having kinky, bloodthirsty sex with a psychopath isn’t going to be blushing and wide eyed by mild, flirty, innuendo. It just made me roll my eyes over and over again. Also, there was a lot about her illness in book 1 and while it was referenced in later books it kind of got pushed to the wayside.

As for the guys. Tristan got over himself which I was glad for. But, again, it felt almost like a different story because the guys from the first book kind of got pushed to the back burner a little bit with V taking top spot. So she gets right into it with him even though there doesn’t seem much redeemable about him…. Because “reasons.”

I liked the different POVs and even though there are a lot of guys I think the author did a good job giving each a background and unique personalities.

This was the third book and it ended on a cliffhanger but the 4th isn’t out yet from what I can tell.

⭐️ 4 Stars - Unfinished Series

- Tristan is an energetic Alpha wolf shifter…golden retriever guy
- Kian is an abused and damaged Incubus
- Xander is a Necromancer, a teacher, and twin to Devyn.
- Devyn is a Vampire Empath and fae detective
- Foster is a shy Fire Elemental
- Gage heals…but he’s also something scary and unknown to us yet.
- V is the Crowned Prince. He’s a sociopath and we don’t know what he is yet either.

* Devyn and Xander are twins, brothers to Tristan. The first five are all cousins to Kian.

Serafina aka Sera is a Skinwalker. She has a history of seizures and medical problems. Sera has a (bloodthirsty) human family. She’s also violent, a bit crazy, and protective.

- 👀 Multiple first person POV
- 🦄 PNR/ Urban Fantasy RH
- 🎓 High school romance (17-18 year olds)
- 🍎 Professor/student
- ♥️ Fated mates?
- 🔥 Slow burn
- 👥 Slow build harem (there’s technically no harem yet)
- 🌶 Very low spice so far (a kiss and a grope in book 1, fingering and kissing in book 2)
- 🍒 Virgin FMC and h (Gage)
- ‼️ chronic illness, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation, drug use, sexual assault, and torture
- 🚫 No MM, no OW

Review for the first three books.

5⭐️ 1🌶️

I am OBSESSED with this series!! I devoured all three books in a day and a half.

The amount of times I caught myself grinning and laughing was insane, especially with Sera calling V all the V names she can think of 😂 I love Sera so much. She’s witty, stubborn, SO incredibly kindhearted and determined. The perfect MFC.

I love the guys, but I won’t lie. Tristian really bugged me for the first two books. His judgment against Kian was ridiculous when he was doing the same thing to women! Xavier is my favorite, I’m hoping we get more time to explore things with him. Heck, all of them. The spice is VERY low, like almost nonexistent until book three where we get a small part. Usually I want spice in the first book, but this was just as phenomenal without it.

I can’t wait to explore more of Sera’s fae form! Also, fuck that bitch at the end. I also have a feeling Candy will be connected to this, and maybe the woman from Devyn’s work too. I don’t trust anyoneeee.

Looking forward to all the books in this series!!

I didn’t realise that this series isn’t fully finished. So I’ll have to wait for the next book. Despite being uninterested in the guys, I do like the plot. The vampire? prince (I forgot what he is) is probably the best boyfriend and the one with the most personality. I think that made the 2nd book slightly better than this one and this one slightly better than the first. Yeah anyway, it was okay and I guess we’ll see the next one. (The end cliffhanger was so strange and freaky and I’m kind of concerned)

ok story, but the cliffhanger theme getting real old!

This seems to be a good storyline. I can see myself enjoying the series, but I just don’t have the patience for these cliffhangers and authors thinking it’s cute and an excuse to keep releasing incomplete novels! There is definitely a way to write a complete suspenseful novel without just cutting a story short saying it’s a cliffhanger!!

A Rant

This review is for all 3 books in the series. Firstly, I thought this book series was completed and was excited to see it didn’t have 10 books with the same love interests. (I really hate those). It always feels so dragged on and then like half the books aren’t even out.

Anyways so I see 3 of 3 books and I’m like finally - just a short and easy read. Jokes on me. Book 3 also ends on a cliffhanger. Not sure when there is another one coming out, but I won’t be reading it. I’m really tired of this thing that authors are doing these days where it “ends” on a cliffhanger, but isn’t actually. It just ends where more story is supposed to be. I really think it’s because they’ve found success with this book series and just won’t let it be. (Which is a problem with a lot of book series).

I didn’t like the FMC. Is it too much to ask for a “normal” FMC? The fluctuation between super girly little girl and I’m a bad, knife wielding, nightmare of dreams girl is frankly annoying. I just want a more toned down FMC (personal preference).

With the MMCs (7), I feel like that was wayyy too many cooks in the kitchen. Most took a back seat while 2 or 3 were clearly the authors favorites. If they wanted a story with the teacher and his twin and the 2 cousins they should have had that and left the 2 friends out of it. Or if they wanted the dark prince dude to be with the FMC they shouldn’t have had a RH. That’s my take. I think they started wanting the 6 guys with the girl and then had an idea to add a new love interest and ran with that, but still tried to include everyone. It got overwhelming to me to try to keep everyone straight when we really only saw 2 or 3. I don’t even think the FMC has kissed all of them, but we are to know that they all are deeply in love is not believable.

Last thing, the spice. Was I the only one a little confused. There was only 1 real spicy scene throughout all 3 books and like I get why it was with the dark prince, but what was the point with the other guy being there? Also, where was the spice? Any time there could have been something it was skipped for “more pressing issues”. But there was definitely time, there’s always time. BTW, was the FMC inexperienced or not? Cause she certainly acted like she was very virginal (because of her big brothers “protecting her”), but the first time she does anything more than hand stuff is a 3sum…. What?!

PPS - I have so many more questions than I do answers and I hate that. Mostly because I don’t care to find out the answers.

Ok rant over. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.

This was pretty fucking great! I really like Sera, she’s a strong FMC who takes no shit from anyone. The way she put Charise in her place made me want to high five her. The relationship with her mates is slow going and it makes me think that the serie will have multiple books (Waiting will kill me slowly). I can’t wait for us to understand more about Sera’s abilities and her role in the upcoming war, cuz let’s face it, Charise is batshit crazy.

CHARACTER LIKABILITY
Sera (Skinwalker) - 4.5/5⭐️
Badass FMC who’s dealt with a lot of pain growing up, she’s skilled with knifes and very protective of her mates. I love seeing her put people in their place.
V (Angel of Death) - 4/5⭐️
Crazy masochistic psycho who enjoys receiving and inflicting pain. He’s slowly but surely developing more depth in his feelings and it’s wonderful to see. He’s my favourite of the bunch.
Xander (Necromancer) - 3/5⭐️
Kinky professor who likes to tease Sera with his shadows. I feel like his character hasn’t been developed yet. I know your horny but like… Who the hell are you?
Devyn (Empath Vampire) - 3.5/5⭐️
Big tough FIB agent. I am in loveeeee with the nickname he gives Sera, Bunny is so fricking cute. I like his role in the story but, it feels too much like insta-love for me…
Foster (Fire Elemental) 2/5⭐️
Nerdy quick-tempered guy. Boring, just boring… Can you juste explode soon, make things more interesting?
Gage (?) - 3.5/5⭐️
Dangerous protector? He feels like a big softie to me, I can’t wait to hear his back story, pretty sure he killed his dad and has misplaced guilt to that. I hate his mom, I despise her, I just want Sera to cut her up or something.
Tristan (Alpha Wolf) - 3.5/5⭐️
Overexcited puppy who’s currently drowning in guilt. What he previously did to Kian really made me mad and seeing him grovel is kinda satisfying but, I really don’t think I could forgive him. The torture he received made me feel nauseous though, I’m just secretly happy it was him that was captured and not Kian.
Kian (Incubus) - 4/5⭐️
My little ray of sunshine. I just want to give him a big hug, he deserves to have someone worship him, Sera’s been good to him but, I just can’t wait for their relationship to develop further….😙

***TRIGGER WARNING: Usual violence that should be expected by now if you've made it this far. And an upsetting scene with Kian's abuser who kidnaps and tortures Tristan, all while using her succubus powers to force him to have an erection the whole time he's being beaten up and burned, etc. ***

I don't have the energy for a full review; this book is another to add to the pile of intriguing-but-disappointing. And all the sexual scenes have been disappointing, to be honest. The first, rather sudden and incomplete finger bang of Book 1 with Tristan, a guy that I didn't feel was mature enough. Book 2 had a pain-kink scene with V that just didn't hit right. And the first actual sex is with V and Devyn, a guy that's barely interacted with the heroine. This is another RH where one of the guys is a lot more obsessed than the others so he stands out and almost seems like the True Mate of the heroine, then all the other schlubs start to seem not so great.

I really hated that the authors decided to go the direction they did with Tristan and that absolute c*nt. I was hoping for character development for him in particular, but now I can see the route they're choosing to take of making Tristan go through something extremely traumatic to mature him and probably change his personality forever. I really fucking hate that they did this and I will not be reading the next installment.

Irate Sidenote: The office scene with Devyn's ex-gf/co-worker coming in to flirt with him was SO unnecessary. I really hate it when an ex comes in randomly, tries to get with the guy, gets rebuffed and hears about the heroine, she remarks that the heroine is really lucky to have the guy, then says something about wanting to meet her. Then this dumbass Devyn says that the heroine would probably love this ex and they'd become fast friends because "she's not the type of woman to be threatened by my past". So fucking what if she has a heart of gold and absolutely perfect thoughts in her head where she doesn't care about the women in the guy's past? If you're a smart man, you do. not. introduce your fated mate to an ex of yours, especially one that so recently came onto you. Who the hell in their right mind would be GENUINELY happy to meet someone their mate/partner used to fuck?

I didn't know the series wasn't finished when I began to read it and there's one year between the release of the second book and this one so who knows when the last part will get published.
I didn't like this book and I don't even like this series anymore.
The big villain is so damn cliché, it's ridiculous.
I absolutely hate HATE that there're 7 mates. If the author wanted Sera to spend time equally with everybody, the book would be 600 pages. And the time spent with the mates is very boring. So because of this mate traffic jam, the author decided to let Sera have a few hours with each mate and boom, it's the big love, she knows everything of their life yada yada. I don't even think she exchanged 5 lines with Devyn at this point.
Kian should have been the only mate. Devyn and Xander are creepy perverts who drool over a minor, V has no purpose in this story (you'd think we'd get more insight in the Fae world and you'd be wrong, the world building is weak af), and the last 3 idiots should have been friendzoned since the beginning.
The explanation for the silly number of mates makes no sense: because she is more powerful she needs more mates to protect her?! What?! She beats them already and she barely has training. Shouldn't it be the opposite? A less powerful Fae would need more mates to protect her? Crazy misogynist pills anyone?

Sera's obsession with stabbing is getting annoying because where is her psychotic nature when she let Candy steps on her all the time? Her saying she's kinda "loyal" to her because she was the first one to talk to her makes no sense. There's no way an outspoken girl like Sera would let Candy treat her like this. Also who wants to bet Candy will be the villain's pet?

I like Sera but even her can't make me enjoy this mess.

I read this series in just a few days and absolutely loved it. BUT I’m so furious with myself that I didn’t pay close enough attention to realize the series isn’t complete. I loathe reading incomplete series because… well cliffhangers for one and my attention span and inability to keep track of series I need to return to and finish. I really hope the next book comes out soon… oh and that it’s the last one!

When I started this series I thought some parts of it were familiar. I actually think I read book one before but didn’t have it in my Goodreads for some reason.

The heroine of this series is Serafina. The thing I love about her is she’s independent and fierce. I love when she’s feeling stabby. Her thoughts at times just crack me up. She has some pretty creative places that she hides weapons on her too. She’s not one to sit back and let the guys take care of things for her. That’s okay to read sometimes but an independent take no crap heroine is nice to read too and not all books that have a heroine like that do it well. I think this one does.

All the guys are great too! They each have their own thing about them that draws Sera in. We have Devyn, Xander, Tristin, Kian, Gage, Foster, and V. While I know I shouldn’t have favorites because they are all great in their own way… I just absolutely love V, Xander and Devyn. Some of the scenes with V and his behavior made me laugh while reading. I think it’s also because he’s dangerous and a bit psychotic. For some reason it just works so well.

I want to know some more about what happened to Gage’s dad. Oh, also Foster’s dad..

Looking forward to the next book for sure!

3/5 Stars – Fae Revealed (Books 1–3)

I enjoyed the audiobooks for this series - they definitely made the story more engaging. While I found the written version a bit hard to stay invested in, listening to the audio helped a lot. Aaron Shedlock once again delivers an excellent performance for the male characters. His narration consistently elevates any story he's part of, and this one is no different.

I’ve read a few of Quinn & Katie books now, and while there are recurring themes across Katie's' work, they’re still fun and easy to get into. One challenge I’ve noticed, though, is that some of her series tend to remain unfinished for long stretches, which can be frustrating as a reader who enjoys closure. Mated by Fire is still ongoing, The Damming series like forever between books, and Fae Revealed Book 4 took a considerable amount of time to arrive. By the end of Book 3, I felt the story was starting to lose steam, which made me less inclined to pick up the next installment right away, especially since this series had such promise, particularly with co-author Quinn Arthurs involved.

It might be worth focusing more on wrapping up ongoing series before launching into new ones, just to give long-time readers that sense of payoff and continuity.

As for the story, the FMC was decent, and the inclusion of a large harem is always a draw for me. There’s definitely potential in the worldbuilding and plot - I just wish it had been developed a bit more fully. With more focus, I think this series could’ve really shined.

Can't wait to see what's next! (Ends on a small cliffhanger, but not too bad!)

At the time of this review, Book #4 isn't out yet. Generally, I wait for a series to be complete because I get VERY invested and then scream or rip my hair out when it ends on a cliffhanger! Thankfully, this one is a soft one - no leaving you teetering on the edge, DYING to know what happens at a pivotal point! However, things are definitely getting more real, and that ending was SOMETHING!

Sera learns what species of fae she is. Only she, her family, the queen, and the guys know, and they want to keep it that way for her safety since, as far as everyone knew, they had been extinct for as long as anyone could remember, and news of what she is could put her in very serious danger. Whatever, or WHOEVER, is after her, also seems to know already, and they have no idea what their end game is.

More and more things are happening that all seem to connect to Sera in some way, but there's some pieces to the puzzle missing, and no one knows what it has to do with her! One thing is for sure: None of the guys are going to leave her to figure it out on her own. Especially when what she is to all of them is revealed.

This book was a wild ride! Xander calls all the guys to his house and tells them that they are all Sera’s mates. Devyn and V already knew. That happened after Xander saw her loose control of her legs and she told him when she had been paralyzed and how she would never let it happen again. Then Kian’s car gets hit and Tristian gets taken, by people who thought it was Kian. Kian is in the hospital in a coma. Tristian wakes up and is tortured by none of than Ms. Summers. V finds him and he and Sera go to save him, she was able to use Xanders shadows. She ripped Ms. Summers soul from her body. Her hair is completely pink now. Devyn and her family see and she thinks they are scared of her now. She confronts the guys and finally learns that they are mates. The shadows tell Xander that the virus is back and will kill them all. Then no one was surprised by the fact that Charisse is crazy and evil. She is the one who recreated the virus and is after Sera but I don’t know why. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that Foster’s dad called her a queen? V reveals that he is the angel of death then says his name is Morningstar. So is he the literal devil? She has a sexy moment with V and Devyn. It seems like Charisse is either hunting her brother or her mother.

There was a lot that I loved in this series so far. I did a mix of ebook and audio books and found both versions equally entertaining, originally picking up the series due to my love for narrator Jill Redfield.
First I have to give the author's recognition for going for a big harem. I think we've got 7 guys all ranging in age, personality and species and all well developed and special to Sera in their own way. I'm actually surprised it took three books before she made that jump into any of their beds and has only really taken on two as actual lovers at this point.. we love delayed gratification.
I'm loving the plot, although pretty typical in these type of books there's still suspense mystery and action that keeps the reader actively engaged.
In the next book I'm hoping to see Xander be the Dom daddy I know he is, Kian to actually usually his incubus powers and see Foster's freak flag fly...

Alright.......so. I still think that having this many mates is not great for plot or storyline. To be honest I almost forget some of them even exist aside from the one chapter they get a focus. Case and point Tristan. We go from him being pretty prevalent in the first book to really only being a small plot filler here. And having him and Kian essentially be out of this book for a majority of it just proves the point further. Devyn barely gets a role aside from the police angle and then boom 3some with V and her? What?

Also, did we glaze over her lack of sexual experience that was mentioned in book one and just jump to a 3some? What?

Also of course the bad guy is the princess, because why not? She only sort of got introduced this book and all of a sudden is the big bad? Kinda glad I can't run through to the next book I feel like a little break is needed.
